Gym Pics - 61 yr old

Sidnee...

Just briefly....

All meds are prescription and I use a compound pharmacy.

200 mg testosterone enanthate every seven days

250 I.U. HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin)

1.5 mg anastrazole on hand (anti-aromatase) estrogen control.

H.G.H. 2 i.u. 5 days on 2 days off.

Myoplex (original) (morning shake)
42 grams protein
27 vitamins/minerals

4-6 omega-3 fish oil pills a day (1000 mg each)

I only workout 3 days a week noon til 3pm. 4 sets of 12 on all... and I talk ALOT!!!

I think I am an authority on religion, politics, science, marriage, divorce and most of all the art of making love. (I am on my 4th and last wife):jaw:

Sidnee, My HRT is prescribed by my physician and is partially covered by my medical insurance. It consists of 200mg test cypionate and 200mg nandrolone decanoate weekly split into two injections of 100mg of each. The nandrolone is there because I go polycythemic when put on an appropriate dose of testosterone by itself. The doc cut the dose in half and added in the nandrolone in its place.
Splitting it into two injections per week keeps the suprabiologic dose down and further reduces the polycythemia.
Can't afford the HGH, the HCG is not helpful to me, and the anti-estrogens haven't been necessary. Just lucky I guess.

Hey PSBigJoey
I'm 54 and and have a question for you. please !
What do you have to say or do to have the Doc give you the gear ?

Hot Rocks
Gainesville FLA

Rocks, it's not like that... We had blood tests done that showed we were severely deficient by reason of age - the diagnosis is Secondary Hypogonadism. And the dosages he prescribes are modest compared to typical bodybuilding dosages.

I would be interested in what the doctors and thinking the levels should be. Since HGH is hard to measure, IGF-1 should to be somewhere in the 200s, and once taking HGH it went to the 400s - it is slow acting over months and expensive if not thru insurance. Test - is intesterting, does not seem to take much to raise levels. I know people that can't create any, given a fever that knocked it out - so they use about 200-300ccs as well. Makes a hugh difference in libido and muscle growth. Do either of you cycle the Test - I had thought of HCG as something to bring back normal test level, so I was suprised to see its use with Test - but you learn something new every day. I am sure these guys are living better lives with professional support for maintaining (I will use the word "good") responsible levels. I am not that lucky - HGH and Test are a great combo that I use off season, and do blood tests for, - levels are very low compared to Bodybuilders that grow 20-30lbs of mass a year.

Doctors vary widely on this, but 800-1200 ng/dl for total testosterone is a common target for doctors who are supportive of HRT. Free testosterone levels are likewise subject to opinion. High 20's and up seem to be where my doc likes it.

As far as a fever knocking levels down, if your balls get cooked, you can go hypogonadic. That's PRIMARY hypogonadism - but I'd expect it to be lower than 200-300 - more like 0-200 ng/dl. SECONDARY is when the pituitary no longer sends appropriate signals to the testes, and it can happen from simple aging or genetic predisposition. My levels were below 200.

It's worth noting that both of these conditions can begin any time - from puberty onwards. Most men are in the throes of it by their 40's - hence the high divorce/corvette/bimbo quotient during the "mid-life crisis" years. They're hypogonadic and trying to put some excitement back into their lives.

Cycling is a thing one does when one's natural testosterone production is still good. You do it because the body will suppress testosterone production if it senses your levels are adequate. If you keep it too suppressed for too long, it doesn't rebound well - or at all. HCG is sometimes used at the end of a cycle to kick start the testes.

If your levels already suck, then cycling is irrelevant. You need a certain amount of testosterone in your system, and if your testes aren't creating it, you need to get exogenous testosterone. We are NEVER off our testosterone.

I can't address the GH issues, as our insurance won't cover it and it's too damn expensive for us to pick up on our own, so we have no experience there. Sounds like AGELESS is the man to answer those questions.

I think you mean 200-300 mg/week. 200-300 cc's would kill you. It'd be a big damn corpse, though...

well spoken BigJoey, I ues 1/2 cc T per week (100mg) w/ 500mg HCG per wk and have been for 3 yrs, (45yrs old), maintain T levels of 550 ng/dl all the time. feel great and still train hard.

huh yea - I guess I meant 2ccs - 750mgs. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. but you don't want to know what my total test levels are. A bit over normal. GH is kinda hard to determine - it is very expensive - it seems to increase your cognative abilities. (gee I hope I spelled that right). I will not use it again, just due to the expense. Maybe later in life when I can tell the difference. A friend of mine had a feaver and knocked it out completely on Test - so I agree it is more common that people realize.

Hey Sidnee:

Have you posted any pictures of yourself?? I think we all want to see your progress. It sounds like you have been at this for a long time....

and BIGJOEY - if I were in the gym with you I think I would put on a xlarge tshirt and hide!! You look great!!

Im gonna take your advice and split my dose into twice a week instead of once...it should even out the hi & lows.

Gotta go...wifes got dinner ready....I smell spaghetti-O's:blink:

will need some help with pics, former competitor, now just on the journey keeping fit, scaled down the size (210) while staying lean.

Man you look great !!!!! But what about the legs. Hey how many young guns walk around the gym so they dont have to feel bad bc you look so good. Its got to feel great. :bb2:

Hey I saw your one year progression pics - your legs look great.

If I had legs like yours I would be allowed to wear shorts too!!

My legs look so bad the gym owner requires me to wear Levi's to work out in.:jaw:

Awwww shucks AGELESS, if somebody is looking at you legs so much, they are severly misguided. hehe Ya big sack of protein. lol

HRT is great - but it will not get you there without consistency, in your workouts and discipline in your diet - this guy deserves alot of credit for taking control of his health at a time in life when the metabolism and hormones want to slide. As I will be turning 50, I am inspired with the success in fighting the aging process - go man go

No gym for 5 weeks now...Im still on the same meds...HRT - WOW!~ A big difference. I am melting FAST:jaw:

I have no excuse, just got lazy!! I see now MED's alone will not give me what I want.

Moving IRON from point "A" to point "B". There are no shortcuts.

I will fight the aging process all the way to the crash site!!!!:jaw:

Its nice to see another old-timer on the boards. You look fantastic. All that hard work really paid off for you.

Ive only been to the gym a couple of times the past few months, but I've been getting alot of work done around the yard. I dug a 35ft ditch the other day - 18 inches deep...now I feel my age.

Here are a couple of pics from the other day.

I am anxious to get out of the ditch and get back into the groove after the New Year. I miss my people, the sounds and even the smell...I guess I am crazy.

Hey, Ageless:

Thanks for the nice comments. I noticed you my first day on the board. You have a following here.

You have raised the bar for Senior Fitness and it shows. I like your vascularity and how your abs come out in these photos. Nice work.

Your "current and last" wife seems very supportive, as is mine. Our only rule is, I can go ahead and enjoy my Tilapia and Spinach while my Italian wife enjoys her egg plant and pasta. She does my "contest' grocery shopping for me and most of the time I cook for myself, because I prepare extra portions for my weekday meals while I'm as work. I am Vice President, Communications for a non-profit, multi-national, multi-media organization based in Alabama. I will retire from this job when I turn 66. Then I will spend full time in the fitness profession as a personal trainer. I am currently working with four seniors who are preparing to enter their first Master bodybuilding competition in 2007.

If this thread is still active, I think I'll stop in from time to time. Just to see how ageless does it. I hope I have a tan like than when I am his age! ;)

Hey, SoMdHunter:

Long time no see. This is not my thread, so I don't want to hijack it, but drop over to my post, "Training for My First Master Pro Contest at 64" in the 35 and Older Forum and lets catch up. It's been awhile since we chatted...on IronMass, I believe.

Theyre just random shots....dont know how to pose...

Comments welcome!

Ageless....
How you been bro? Any new pictures? Your grandaughter looks like a lil cutie!
Coop

Ageless has not made a post in this thread in nearly a year. One day he was here, the next day he was gone.

I hope all is well with you, Warrior.

Coop - I do have granddaughters, 3 total (18, 15 and 14) but the "lil angel" on my back in my new avatar is my daughter. She will be 4 in Feb.

She is very lucky I was not on HRT 4 yrs ago - just "cycling" and on a little clomid now and then. A great combination, 7 day cruise, clomid and a new 34 yr old wife. :drunk:

Old Navy - I read the board almost daily, and read all of your posts and can say I am very proud of all your accomplishments - I only wish I had your drive.

You are right about here today and gone the next. I had a few HRT problems this year with a new DR. Believe me, I thought I was going to die. WOW!! What a ride that was Total test dropped to 66, and I lost over 20lbs.

Coop, as for new pics, right after the new year, I promise. I just need to catch up a little more.

Hey Old Navy

I think he's lurking.....

I also think we can get em out here :o)

Come on Ageless....put the dumbell down and say hello...... ;o)

I'm glad to know you are still among the living, Warrior. Good Show! Welcome back to the Board. Give us the gift of your experience and wisdom once in awhile. Have a great 2008.

Ageless you are looking great - you have got the mass - I am 50 and hope to look that good when I get to my 60s Thanks for the inspiration!!!

Thanks Guys, I needed that. I will be 64 April 25th, time for some new gym pics. I've gained a little weight in the tummy so I am trying to get my abs back in shape.

Man, I just watched the new Rocky Balboa movie and you look a trillion times better than Stallone does which I think he is around 61-62.

Keep up the good work !

"Old Navy" - It's an honor to have you post and have your pictures on my thread...and for the little "push"

You have fantastic drive and endurance for a 35 yr old.

My intentions are to go "all out" for the April 25th pictures and thanks for the tease pictures - you set the bar high.

Reaper - I have always admired "Stallone". I just hope you were looking at my 61 yr old pic and not Old Navy...I think I have his tan beat....thats a start.

Ah, AGELESS. Like when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, I have woken the sleeping giant. I look forward to your reappearance.

I just saw "RAMBO"

Stallone looks great. I think he has gained about 50 pounds since the last Rambo movie.

His voice seems to get deeper with age. Acting has improved 100%.

The movie was very graphic and I think Mr. Stallone shows just a little of what is going on in Burma today.

I watch alot of news and dont see much about Burma. I guess they dont have enough time...after all we need to keep tabs on Brittney Spears and such!!

He is one celebrity Id like to meet - Mr Stallone - well done!!

And Old Navy - I am far from a Giant, 5ft 7 and 210lbs. And I just told my wife the other day "I am not happy" She said..."Ok I give up which one are you?" LOL

Ha, ha. I am 5' 7" and 165 - 155 on stage. To me, you are a Giant.
