I've been using (and abusing to various degrees) stims for over 10 years now. Started with various ECA or NYCA stacks in highschool which continued into my early 20s. I've given up ephedrine completely for at least 5 years now, as it made me completely nuts. Slim X was too yummy for words, but it is sadly gone. Flash forward to now... I wake up and take some caffeine/yohimbine hcl powder that I mixed. I drink anywhere from 0-4 20oz. diet mountain dews, and/or 0-5 8oz. cups of coffee. And I mostly feel like ****, all or most of the time. I don't feel nearly like what I imagine a healthy 27 year old should. I'd like to completely rid myself of the need for all stims, but for now I'd like to start with caffeine. So starting tomorrow...

I will wake up and take Reset AD with 250mg Nuvigil only, (did I mention I have a script for that?) :D

I'd like to put a supp order in this week to help out with this endeavor. I did a bit of searching today, as I've been out of the supp and training game for a while for various unfortunate reasons. Definitely gonna pick up some Orange OxiMega and Orange Triad, and I would definitely pick up some Ultima if it was in stock. Was looking into Lucidrol, Rhodiola, etc. too. I'm trying to keep costs down for this order. Anything you guys would strongly reccomend? I basically just wanna offset the certain suckiness of a 10+ year caffeine withdrawal.

Hopefully I'll get some replies. A lot of you guys know me, a lot of you don't. :wave2:

Nor-ephedrine i heard about this how do you get it? any good? better than ECA?

I have no idea how to get it now, its long gone and banned. It was amazing back in the day. Biotest MD6 and Adkipokinetix felt great, and more like illicit drugs if dosed high enough.

It's been 4-5 years for me, I think I will take some time off as well soon, I need a caffeine break :| Can't wait to see how you like Reset AD, I may try that stuff as well.

Supersoldider, lucidrol is not totally stim free, as it has pea. But it's a different effect, and won't interfere with your plan, but it WILL help reduce the feeling of utter revulsion and horror you'll be feeling about 3 days in. One word of advice: don't use lucidrol more than 4 days a week.

Also kava kava can reduce the nasty. But it needs to be whole powdered root.
 
I'm interested in hearing your experiences too mate, I'm not too bad these days after concentrating on my sleep which is paramount to prevent mid-day tiredness and therefore dependency on stimulants.

A combination of Invalid Link Removed and LipTrophin PM has been excellent for rectifying this issue for me. Using a Invalid Link Removed pre-workout formula also helps a great deal.

Anyone else kicking the stims?
 
I noticed Lucidrol has PEA in it. So does Ultima, but they both seem good enough to give a shot. Oh I've also used Reset AD extensively, and I'm a big fan, but its always been with stims so I could use less and feel them more. I did seem to like the effects of the old, small bottles vs. the new, larger bottles...though this could be all in my head, not sure...

I got up 30 min earlier, already took nuvigil and 2 Reset caps. I'm also running a short cycle of clenbuterol (don't judge me :08:), which I understand is counterproductive to my overall goal of stim free, but beneficial to my shorter term goals of kicking caffeine and cutting up a bit. Oh and I pop nicotine lozenges like there going outta style too...:AR15firing:

I would appreciate some supp recommendations, and again, the overall goal here is to be "true"-stim free and feel healthier overall.
 
Good call SS. I have used/abused stims for several years, taking a few breaks to refresh. The things that helped most were:

Solaray Rhodiola (100mg/1% extract) - seriously works better than any other rhodiola, high % extract or super large dosing.

Emergen-C - lots of C and B vitamins. I usually pick up their "Immune Defense" for the extra zinc.

Alcar/Co q-10 - help with natural energy.

On giving up soda, I switched to flavored Sparkling water. Talking Rain is a good one that adds natural flavorings and oils but no artificial sweeteners or anything. I really hated sparkling water but have found it to be a good substitute and have been diet soda free for the first time in years.

It will be hard, and really have some caffeine if you need it. Don't fall asleep while driving, etc. Cutting back is progress toward the ultimate goal so having a planned amount of caffeine with a set limit can go a long way helping the transition.

^ Thanks man! So I'm an hour into work now, so far so good. Again, I took 250mg Nuvigil, 2 Reset AD caps, and about 60mcg clenbuterol (eyeballed dose). A typical day would have started with the above, plus an eyeballed dose of a 10/1 mixture of caffeine anhydrous/yohimbine hcl powder, and I may or may not have already consumed a 20oz diet mountain dew or an 8oz. cup of coffee. Gonna attempt to hit the gym on my lunchbreak, and aim for 30 minutes of weights only.

Have you given Invalid Link Removed a try mate? It's completely stimulant-free :)

I agree that clenbuterol is probably counter-productive to your stimulant-free goals. Have you tried something like Invalid Link Removed instead? Negligible amounts of caffeine in there mate and will help with fat loss.
 
- Taper down the caffeine intake, don't stop cold turkey.
- Add something like citicoline to your morning.
- Personally, sulbutiamine is an excellent energizer that can replace stims pre-workout.

I haven't tried pre-max, but it looks solid, maybe with a bit too much sugar for my liking (is that from the pomegranite?) I really wanna grab some Ultima from Custom. As far as clenbuterol goes...I'm first and foremost focusing on ridding myself of caffeine and trying to deal with the ****ty withdrawl affects. Clenbuterol is meant to be cycled for only a few weeks anyway, and I could definitely stand to drop a couple pounds. Nuvigil, though a pharmaceutical, is a potent stim as well. But like I said...one step at a time.
 
12:30 pm. Headache, not horrible, but noticeable. 2 more Reset AD and .5mg klonopin down the hatch. (got a script for that too ;) )
 
Quick chest workout on my lunch break. I haven't been back to the gym a whole lot since hurting my shoulder last august, but today's workout was better than recent ones. Strength was better than last week, though that could be due to some "exogenous" factors ;). But I was pleasantly surprised that I hit a few extra reps with the same weight, even with no caffeine. Had 5...5 dollar...5 dollar foot long afterwords, and felt less sleepy after eating lunch than I normally do. I actually feel much better at this point in the day (3PM) than I do most days. Interesting....
 
Day 1 is in the bag. Off for the next two days, so I could just veg out if I feel ****ty. But I'm gonna try to make them productive. Looking to hit the gym tomorrow and Thursday, with cardio sessions! And placing a supp order tomorrow too. Suggestions?

wow youve taken more stims in a week then i probably have in my life lol.
but good luck with this once you get through the hard part im sure u will feel like a new person.

i second these B12 and rhodiola would help also ashwagandha might help. and if ur lookin for a good stim free preworkout Premax has my vote. and endoamp might help aswell.
 
Woke up at 10:30 (went to bed at 1:30) with a decent headache. Same supps/meds as yesterday down the hatch. Off work today, so I don't have to rush out the door and my day is free. Gonna sit on the couch at least until the USA World Cup game is over, and probably fill up a cart over at NP as well. Any last minute suggestions?
 
Tried and failed to cut out caffeine a couple of times. Then I accidentally kicked it during a Mdrol cycle. My body was just so thirsty for water that I didn't realize till 3 weeks in when I had 3 unopened 12 packs of pepsi, I kept buying them while grocery shopping out of habit. I dont know if your a ph user but I can tell you if you use something that messes with your body enough you wont even notice caffeine withdrawal.
 
caffeine is terrible for you. forget all the antioxidant BS, you are punching your adrenal glands in the face. the rush you get from caffeine is from adrenaline, also with adrenaline the glands release cortisol. the more caffeine the more cortisol. and that crash that follows every heavy caffeine abuse? thats your body begging you to go to sleep. some of the guys on here pound coffee all day for no reason, crash by 5 pm, pound more caffeine + stims and go workout. nothing like run down adrenal glands for nothing.

you shouldnt need any stims. body is a great mechanism that shouldnt be F'd with us constantly. clean up your diet, ditch processed foods and excess grains, sleep a little longer.

This is what I'm going for. I'm starting with caffeine, and will drop the other stuff (ie. Nuvigil {hopefully, and in due time}). I've seen people post on boards, like when reviewing sleep supps, etc, "I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world." I haven't felt like that in.......can't even remember. I've talked to plenty of people at work and in daily life that drink no coffee or soda ever, and seem to have more energy and are more upbeat than me. AND they're older than me, by 10-20 years sometimes. I'm sick of feeling like this, and I'm FINALLY doing something about it.

The end goal here is this: I want to get to a point where I feel healthy and energetic ALL day, and don't feel at all like I NEED any substance to feel better. I want to get to a point where my only supps are basic ones (multis, fish oil, etc.), and only drink water and eat healthy or semi-healthy foods and feel good. There's plenty of people out there that live and feel like this.

Stims have clouded my mind for way too long. I have a script that I just recently obtained for Klonopin 1mg/day for anxiety, which is helping a lot with said anxiety. But I'd be a fool to think that most, if not all, of my anxiety is caused by current and past stim use/abuse.

End goal is to be drug (stim, benzo, steroid, etc) free and be a normal healthy productive human being.

Plan to get there:

1. Cut caffeine completely. Use Reset AD and Nuvigil, and other supps I might pick up (ie. Rhodiola, ALCAR, etc) for a while, then cut them out one by one.

2. I'm running a SD/PP cycle. Anyone can feel free to disagree with me on this one, but here's my logic. I'm in a funk, and have been for a while. I had a severe shoulder injury last August, and have been to the gym maybe 15 times spread out since then. Before that I've been bodybuilding to different degrees for about 10 years. I'm not in great shape (though not horrible compared to average joe), and I'm not happy with the shape I'm in. I need to be happy with my body in order to be happy overall, and a 60 day cycle along with diet modifications and training protocol should get me to where I am happy. I don't strive to be the biggest or strongest or most ripped guy around (anymore), but I do need to be at a point where I'm not completely self conscious taking my shirt off at the beach. I definitely have some residual issues stemming back to childhood obesity, though not as profound as they were in years past.

3. Finish my cycle, run a full PCT with Torremifene (I will never use anything but this as my SERM) and maybe a few other supps. And that's it.

After that continue training consistently, continue eating better, and only use multi-v/fish oil/ and similar foundation supps.

There's a plan on paper. Now its one day at a time.

Bull****. Caffeine is not bad; misuse/overuse of caffeine is bad. Normal use of caffeine has some good benefits, and as with everything, moderation is key. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a cup or two of coffee a day, and it may provide significant benefits to overall health.

Keep in mind that some products have high levels of stims, 200-300mg caffeine, plus PEA, geranamine, or other potent stims. I firmly believe the newfound love affair with geranamine is not a good thing. I also believe that many people simply don't have the option to sleep more, and if taking 120mg caffeine gets them in the gym, as opposed to not working out at all...it's a very good thing.

dude you have anxiety? the stims are definitely the cause. im anxiety prone myself and even a cup of coffee revs it up like no other. caffeine stimulates the body to go into "fight or flight", which is exactly what anxiety is. i guarantee that if you stop ALL stims within a month you will not get anxious. your nervous system needs a break. also dont buy Rhodiola, many people's anxity shoots up. Get NOW brand Ltheanine 500 mg instead, the best calm down herb out there.

i hop out of bed in the morning and dont need any coffee or any other crap. I exercise everyday, whether its BJJ or lifting, work full time and drive 3 hours a day.


to whoever said caffeine has good benefits forgets that everyone's body reacts differently to each stim. even a cup of coffee/tea will make me extremely jittery. i heard of a study being done about caffeine allergies and how many people are unaware that they are allergic to it.

not sleeping + caffeine + more gym = overtraining, free radicals, cortisol, poor health. unless you have a baby you can definitely find a dark corner to pass out in.

Hit the gym. 8 sets of weights and 30 min of cardio on the elliptical. The motivation was lacking, especially during cardio, but I pushed through.

also i would rech Green tea might have some caff in it but its healthy for you. also pp has green tea caps if you dont like to drink it or are on the run.
 
3 days no caffeine now. I'm happy to report that I don't feel horrible at all. There's room for improvement, but I'll get there. Got the new iphone today! I've had the most basic cell phone since I lost my iphone 3g last year. It'll be very nice to have my tunes handy, as well as the other perks that go along with having a smartphone.

I feel great when i'm off caffeine, but then again, i don't feel too terrible when i'm drinking 1-2 cups a day either, and i like the taste so i stick with it.

i am quite the opposite

i dont drink coffee (hate the taste) but i do pop caffeine pills for pre-workout purposes. i actually used one for "those days" where i was dragging ass

i crash VERY hard now and am quite hyper sensitive to it. this is at 100mg a serving
 
good luck with this bro. I took a clean 2 week break from caffeine and it felt great. I honestly felt like I had the flu on days 3&4 though. It was terrible but by day 5 I started seeing the positive benefits of not having that stimulant crash in the afternoon! Keep it up

My reception's been superb for the few phone calls I've made. It is true though that you really can't grip it by the bottom left corner or bars drop down, like clockwork. From what I gather, Apple's bumper case or any other case will alleviate this issue all together. I don't a case, and I don't have a hard time using it while not gripping the bottom left corner...
 
Today's been a little harder. I've used 2 250mg nuvigil tabs throughout the day and I'm still a little beat. Could be because I was off 2 days and slept in, and then got up earlier today to go back to work. As I'm typing this I'm feeling like "man I could go for a diet soda or a cup of coffee". But I won't do it! Also gonna get rid of the clenbuterol. I need to drop a few pounds, but I've never been a fan of the way the stuff makes you feel overall.

Oh and today I bought a pair of Vibram Five Fingers KSO's! :D So far they're...interesting.
 
ughhh ive been wanting them for awhile. they ran out when i was trying to buy them so i just got a pair of chucks, now vibrams are available again and i dont have $80 to drop on them.. :(
