Thanks guys...That is the thing, I've been very slowly getting stronger for most of this log. I've had periods where I have taken some hits in strength, but I am pretty happy overall that I've actually gained a bit while in a deficit. Nothing crazy, but slowly in the right direction.

Haha, yeah - I'm with you on that. It's a full time job at this board. Some days, I lay in bed while watching TV with my gf and that's the only time I have to respond so I miss everything I'm watching with my gf and she tells me I'm an addict. What else can you do though?

Im at about 80% brother, thanks. Treating today as a "refuel" day after being so low on calories and being sick on top. Youre still killing it, and Im glad to see that weight still dropping! Are you using whey or isolate protein? I switched mine to isolate after a recommendation and its really helped!

PES Select and USP Modern Protein are my go too protein powders. Both are good, decent macros with about 24 g of protein for ever 110-130 cals.

1 x 4 x 130 ...on the fourth rep I turned my head funny, twisted my neck and pulled a muscle in my neck/chest. I'd pulled this muscle a couple weeks ago when I slept on it funny. I feel like I've been getting minor injuries, which is probably because I am getting lax - but I blame Kaprice and hairygrandpa for arguing with me about injuries ...seems like ever since that discussion I've had some minor injuries.

Yesterday was a high calorie day and I over did it a little ...had some cookies in addition to what I'd normally eat and didn't realize that 4 cookies had 800 calories. They were pretty small. Didn't see it coming. Oops.

Today's Weigh In:

Bodyweight: 171.7 pounds (don't ask me how..I am definitely bloated today)
Aria Body fat % : 20.2%
Forgot to take my waist.

Had to wake up at 6 this morning to get a bunch of work done. Took some phenylpiracetam to help wake up with my morning coffee. Worked well for getting me going.

Around 330 this afternoon I found a box of Bronkaid in my cabinet that I didn't even realize I had. I haven't used ephedrine in a long while....I took two Bronkaid and 400 mg of caffeine as my pre-workout pick me up.

About 30 minutes later I went to workout:

Deadlifts:
1 x 8 x 275 warm up
1 x 4 x 395... didn't hit 5 but for some reason felt really good.
1 x 2 x 395
1 x 1 x 395

I didn't feel as tired as I expected from the deads...didnt realize why and almost wanted to keep going...

Leg Presses
1 x 5 x 660
1 x 4 x 660 ...still felt good ...still didn't know why

Bent Over Rows:
1 x 5 x 185
1 x 4 x 185
1 x 3 x 185 ....felt like I could go forever

Bench Presses:
1 x 8 x 95 warm up

1 x 2 x 215 ....felt good and decided to go even heavier
1 x 2 x 215 ...Even got in a third set.

Military Presses

1 x 2 x 130 ....at this point I realized that not only was I doing more sets than I normally would, just because it felt right, but my rest periods had been very short for the entire workout

Finished the workout and felt like I could just keep going. It was really strange. I started taking some Beta Alanine and Modern Creatine that I had in my cabinets about 3 days ago and was thinking it couldn't be that so early on...then I realized. 50 mg of ephedrine and 400 mg of caffeine pre workout to stay awake is the reason I felt so good! I totally forgot I even took it. I also forgot how awesome Ephedrine can be, especially since I didn't feel any signs of taking a stimulant like other things can create.

Finished today at 800 calories and I am going to try to stay around 800 for Monday and Tuesday, keep Wed. Which is my high calorie day to under 2000 and then Thanksgiving in Thursday is just going to be a bloodbath as I have two families to celebrate with ...

Hopefully I will be back to the 165 soon enough

Lol...One of the first comments you made in this log was that I was doing weighted pull ups and only eating under 1000 calories per day! But, you are right, not long ago I couldn't do a pull up...maybe 2-3 years at this point. I do think I've gotten much better at them during this log...but of course I am doing pull ups with a woman's body in your eyes at this point....the 45 pounds is my pocket book and mace. Haha

I finished out my last round of HST at 4 x 405. Before losing all the weight and the extreme diet I had actually lifted 450 for 1 rep and may have been able to do a little more. Dreads and squats have taken the biggest hit from the dieting/weight loss, which is to be expected I guess and in reality it isn't so bad. I could probably still do 425 give or take for 1 rep.

When I am 160 and can hit 480, I will officially declare that as strong for myself. Haha.

HIT4ME, everyone has their specialty, and if it makes you feel any better, when I was 235 and was leg pressing 800, I could only deadlift 425 for a grand total of-1! So yes, you are better than some people, namely me, and I absolutely love it. Im proud of you my friend. You're accomplishing more on less than 1000 calories than most people in general can. Quit selling yourself short. I also wanted to add, I understand about the losing some. All if a sudden this week, my strength has plummeted, and Im hoping ITS due to the lack of carbs and calories!!

Ummm...I can probably hit 800 on my leg press. I definately could before losing the last 80 pounds. I have relatively strong legs and back, and a really weak upper body in comparison. I mean, I'm benching 200, doing military presses with 130 and deadlifting 400 haha. When I was on campus at Elon I would go to the gym there and leg press 1100 pounds - I would have to scrounge up EVERY single 45 in the small gym they had. I actually felt stupid when I had to leg press because I was stealing all the plates. The football players wouldn't even work in with me on leg days. And then I'd be benching like 185 while they bench pressed 300-400 pounds. Guess we all have our specialties.

As far as selling myself short - I don't ever see it that way. What I like about this hobby is that is is perfectly competitive. What I mean by that is, I can compete with you and who ever, and that's fun and there will be a "winner". But mostly, I can compete with me. What I do today will determine who the winner is tomorrow. It's me vs. me and other people will be ahead and others will be behind, but all that really matters is the pursuit of happiness.

lol - thanks. Yeah, I forgot that hairygrandpa probably has access to voodoo dolls of all kinds in banana land. What concerns me is, how did he get any of my hair???? I probably don't wanna know and should just deal with the pain.

As far as going after I hurt my neck - well - I actually kept working out after I hurt my neck. I did skip rope face pulls. But I finished the workout. And then a couple hours after my neck REALLY hurt (resting does that). But I took Saturday off and then worked out again on Sunday. I was a little worried before the workout and thought I felt it in my neck/chest a little - but then when I got there and did my deads, I felt great.

And yeah.....it's pretty clear I'm crazy. And I'm a boring crazy, that's the worst part, haha. No one is going to tell any stories about the crazy things I do, they aren't fun. They're just...crazy.

I didn't sleep well last night. I guess 2 Bronkaid and 400 mg of caffeine was too much when I haven't used ephedrine in forever ...from 11 - 230 last night I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep, which is something since I was up at 6 yesterday morning and I am not a morning person. It has been a long day and I was tired, but fixed that with more ephedrine.

I will say this. Ephedrine. Caffeine. Lots of black coffee. That combo may allow you to make it through a day with no food at all.

Getting back at it tomorrow and thinking of jumping the 11-KT to 500 or maybe even 750 mg per day. Been running 125 and the effects are subtle.

Have been working out. Forgot to bring my log home but got 295 for 4 reps tonight on squats. Felt like I could keep going so I just kept doing more sets on some of the exercises I don't progress in as quickly. We will see if it helps.

Haha, thanks man. The thing is, for me, this is a bit of an obsession...my motivation comes and goes, but I LIKE the work. I honestly don't really feel like I am miserable or suffering when I am going hard....it's a different perspective I guess.

But yeah, I mean, 5 pounds is nothing...glycogen loading will do that.
 
Ok, so far today I am at 740 calories. I should finish around 850 or 900. I keep forgetting my log so I haven't updated my workouts for Friday or tonight and will have to do that tomorrow. I have increased the Super-11 to 500 mg/day. Strength is going up and my weight is still up from the holiday eating, but I seem to be leaning out already in the mirror. Could be in my head.

Highlight of the workout: 5 x 405 on the Deadlifts...which is an increase of 10 pounds and 1 rep from last Sunday.

Leg Presses: 4 x 700 ....guess I have to take it back FireTitan ....maybe I am shy of 800.
 
Oh, another strange note/highlight. I got 4 x 210 on my first set of bench presses. Second set I got 2 x 210 and tried for a third but only got less than half way and failed. Third set, for whatever reason, I just decided to throw 225 on the bar....got 2 x 225 and failed on the 3rd. Given the fact I know I failed at 2 x 210, to get 2 x 225 was somewhat shocking but it also makes me think about how easy it is to leave some stimulus on the table.

I could have done another 2 x 210 but somehow got the same reps with 15 pounds more = more stimulation. I would have thought failing at 210 on the third set was all I had if I didn't increase. It is funny how reps don't fall in linear fashion with weight.

Maybe I would have got 3 reps with 205 ...but 210 was just enough to prevent the third. 225 wasn't enough to bring me to 1 rep, but 230 May have been.

I often think about this and wonder if it is part of the reason we sometimes hit plateaus....we think we are failing but we still have some capabilities/adaptations that aren't being tested.
