Fasting and breakfast

What are some different opinions on fasting and breakfast. Pros and cons to fasting, macro ratios for breaking the fast, incorporating workouts during fasting, how all these factors vary depending on goal. What's works best for you and why?!

I do 30 minutes fasted cardio while sipping on calorie free BCAA.

After I have 2 oz 99% lean ground Turkey with 1 cup egg whites flavored with Molly McButter Cheese & Mrs Dash fiesta lime sodium free.

1 cup cooked oats flavored with cycle support.

That is my contest routine. 4 weeks out I start cardio twice a day 7 days a week.

I love sprint intervals in my fasted state, feel like a lean monster when I'm done. Have you ever experimented with an ultra low carb breakfast? With idea of staying in a metabolic state where you continue burning triglycerides or fat versus glucose after the meal?

For a while I tried egg whites, almonds & asparagus for a post cardio meal but I found I needed more carbs post.

I do some fasted training (although its not really fasted I don't eat before but still have CHO and BCAA/EAA peri-workout) out of convenience at times. The macro breakdown of your fast breaking meal, during the day, and training are going to depend on goals, training level, and other various factors. If it makes things more convenient give it a shot, but don't force yourself into fasting expecting magic. :)

I liked this Invalid Link Removed because it does give some pros and cons and skipping breakfast and provides some good thinking points on this topic.

Great article!!!

I used to do fasted cardio, now I get light headed and have to stop. I still think it works the best regardless of what articles / research says

I'm going to assume everyone uses some sort of eaas or bcaas. I usually do 10 grams bcaas pre and eat my first meal when I'm done. What works best for you guys?
