Fasted cardio with or without protein?

Agreed. IMO a combination of steady state cardio and HIIT is one of the best ways to lose body fat.

IF looks pretty interesting, I'll have to look into that later today. Can someone who has tried IF share their experiences?

I tried it, I liked the concept and doing it but it just didnt work for me...

Ur body Burns 30% of the energy it takes to turn protien into Cal's. So a protein shake 10-20min b4 ur morning routine will only benifit u. Don't ever shy away from clean pure protein and that includes bcaa. This will only build up endurance and push for more sweat. Keep it real get shreeded

Where did you get this information? I've never heard of this.

About the energy needed to convert protien? Give me a min. Ill find something. I'm at wrk

He's referring to TEF and completely misinterpreting its relevance.

I figured it was TEF, but I've never heard a figure as high as 30%. However, I wouldn't want my protein intake to be heavily catalyzed into calories anyway.

EDIT: I found Invalid Link Removed, but without references for the figure.

Id rather just eat less and not do cardio at all... Working for me right now on my cut. Fast paced weight training sessions with strength/hypertrophy principles, thermogenic supplements, and calorie deficit = winning.

Looked through it quick. So what would be the true percentage. I always thought it was about 30?
But ether way, protein shakes like 100% whey will only help u cut.

I stooped cardio almost completely. I only push though cardio some times for insurance. But lifting keeps my heart rate up enough

I've never seen a solid figure, but the 10% figure for TEF is generally accepted. It's really not something that I would get too hung up on when calculating TEE v TEI.

I wouldn't put too much stock into some of it since there aren't any references for some of the figures.

"protein requires the greatest expenditure of energy, with estimates ranging as high as 30 percent." This means you will burn up to 30 percent of the calories in the protein you consumed merely to digest. "

"30% of Cal's we get from protein are burned digesting it'

" For protein to be converted into amino acids or for it to repair and build cells requires a complex conversion, this conversion uses calories, up to 30% of the calories the protein contains, in fact."

Sorry bout sloppy links. But here's some supportive info

The first link quotes the article that is in question as its reference. The third link also does not have any references.

The second link has some references, but they aren't available for preview, unfortunately. Off to MedLine...

I do fasted cardio twice a week. Go to bed and wake up then do fasted cardio so no food for at least 10 hours then I don't eat for 1 to 2 hours post cardio. My results have been pretty good but its taken 4-6 months to see any major changes.

I've been following that diet for about a year now with great results. I'm going start using abliderate advanced for a few weeks and see what that does for me.

This would melt the fat off most people for sure. I would drop the aspirin though and just take fish oil.

Cool thing happened today; I drank 10 grams of modern bcaa before workout. 30 minutes of steady state cardio on a bike. After that I took a shower and came home and suddenly I felt really bad, I ran into the bathroom and threw up some kind of black slime UGH... And my abs were cramping or something... terrible

I'm wondering what may have caused this? Any ideas?

Can't tell if srs...

I'm not kidding man, it was terrible.

4 protein shakes separated troughout the day, 1 before bed. For lunch a lot of salad, veggies, tuna and chicken, for dinner a chicken ceasar whole wheat wrap with eggplant.

Throw up after fasted cardio lol... didn't see that coming

Sounds like you're coming down with something...this the first time you've done bcaa's prior to cardio?

2nd time, it was really odd since I felt really good during and after cardio and then suddenly...

And atm I don't feel sick at all.

4 protein shakes in one day??? you are doing it wrong... eat real food... its called SUPPLEMENTATION... not FOOD REPLACEMENT.

I've had it happen once before. Started off hungry, drank wayyyyy too much water (like over 2 quarts in under an hour) and then ralphed all over after I was off the elliptical

So we have similar experiences... I drank about the same amount of water under an hour

yeah, it could be just that alone. a stomach with nothing solid in it that got distended too far drinking so much water under hard exertion. Thats what I figured it most likely was.
