Answered my own question: DGAT inhibition, surprisingly, does not lead to accumulation of DAG and lipotoxicity. It does this by downregulating expression of PPARα, PPARδ, PPARy , decreasing lipid uptake and oxidation, and upregulation of GLUT1 and GLUT4 in cardiac and skeletal muscle.
TLDR: Fat uptake and oxidation down, glucose uptake and oxidation up in muscle tissue ... in mice.
