EvoMuse Fat Loss Sponsored Log - Kaprice

I don't do them.
I use dips instead (when shoulder allows it). You can move the bench into the cables and do decline flies too.

In a vid I saw a pro talking about: "Getting DB's in position", mainly for seated DB press. His advise: "Don't do em if you can't get em in position by yourself."

lol...for some reason I thought of the theme song for that old tv series barreta...don't do it!!!

I remember watching and enjoying Barretta, but I did not remember that theme song. Hah!

Great workout KAPrice. You are definitely working.

As for the bench, that bench sucks. Normally the lower pads are more "below" the top pads, so you can stand on the floor with the weights and your legs behind the bottom pads (near your ankles) while your knees are in front of the top pads. From that position you can sit and then lean back with the weights in position ....that bench looks more difficult.

If you are using really heavy weights, you will often need someone to spot while you position them.

DAY 61 - Friday

Morning weight: 239.4

That may be a pre-workout low. Or very close to it.

My daughter's work is having a community "fun run" (oxymoron), fundraiser, with dinner, snacks, etc this afternoon.

I'm going to run/walk the 5K. But, I won't be able to weigh myself right after, which is sad, because there's a reasonable chance I'd be at a new post WO low. Oh well.

---
I have a spreadsheet where I track my body measurements. I started it in May 2011. I was 246 lbs.

I was interesting to look back through the history. It turns out every year since 2011 (and only ONCE each year), I'd get the bug to lose weight. My efforts tended to last from 5 to 9 weeks. 9 weeks was the longest I went -- until now.

This round, I started in May -- well, I started tracking in May. I have a note that says I'd been watching what I eat and walking 2 miles a day for 2 weeks prior to starting my measurements, again. At that point, I was 259.6 lbls. I'd already lost 7 pounds from my high of 267.

So, I've been at this for a record 5 months! 30 pounds lost during that time.

Here are my stats from when I started the log this round:

Invalid Link Removed

I started the EvoMuse log on 8/8, though I'd been using a couple of their products on my own dime for a few weeks prior to that.

Good progress from my start of my efforts to the start of the log and even more progress from the start of the log until now.

While I'm rather disappointed in my stats from September til now, I know I'm getting stronger and able to run faster and longer. And though the stats don't seem to support it, my clothes seem to fit better and I feel like I can pinch a lot less fat than before.

I'm excited that I've stuck with this for 5 months and even more excited that I'm not burnt out. I've done this without ever feeling deprived. I don't feel like I'm crawling to the finish line desperately repeating the mantra, "you can do this. just one more step. you can do this. just one more step."

When every day is not a chore but actually enjoyable, there's no reason to fear quitting. I give the EvoMuse products a lot of the credit.

I feel great. I have no doubt I'll be able to continue this at least until I meet my goal of 215 lbs -- 25 pounds to go.

At that point, I'll re-evaluate. I may decide to bulk. Or stabalize there for a few months. Or maybe cut further. I was a lean and well-built 185 in college and have no desire to go any lower than that. So, we'll see where this all leads.

I took pics today, though I didn't want to because the stats don't show much improvement since the last pics. But, it's time, so I bit the bullet. I'll post them tomorrow.

Best progress from last week is a half inch loss in the butt. Some good progress in the chest. And, I think the bicep measurement means I lost some fat in the arms and maintained the flexed size.

On a sour note, however, my bicep is 2.25 inches smaller than hairygrandpa -- and that's the ONLY measurement I'm willing to compare!! Grampa's bicep is bigger than my CALF! I'm not pleased!

Great work my friend. I love what you are doing. I was listening to an audible book this morning called, "The Power of Habits" and he is talking about how "Keystone" habits can have bigger than expected impacts. For instance, children in families that eat dinner together at night tend to do better in school and have more emotional stability. It isn't that it directly has an effect, just that the habit follows through into other areas.

One thing he pointed out was a study on weight loss...they were investigating why typical weight loss efforts failed so miserably. As part of this attempt they gave participants a notebook and asked them to record what they are in the notebook, one day per week at least.

Turns out the participants had trouble with this at first, but with some effort they started doing it and after time they started noticing patterns in their behavior and making very small modifications. For instance, one participant noticed they would have an unhealthy snack every morning around 10, so they started keeping a banana handy around that time instead. Turns out, they started losing weight and kept the habit over time. The small habit and small wins just kept adding up....and that made me think if you...you are getting their man, keep reinforcing the good habits.

Thanks! As you've said in your own log, this forum is a big motivator and support. I much appreciate it.

I totally agree about the power of habits. But, I have to point out that the dinner example, above, is flawed. There are many other variables that could account for the better grades and emotional stability than simply the habit of eating dinner together as a family.

For example, if the parents care enough to have dinner as a family, they probably are more involved in all parts of their children's lives. They probably have more discussions, more support, etc.

I'm reminded of a study where they determined that marriages performed in churches end in divorce for less often than those performed outside of church. So someone suggested maybe all marriages should take place in churches.

Obviously that's not the solution. It wasn't that being married in a church caused less divorce but rather the kind of people who WANT to marry in church are more likely to be more committed to the marriage and have better tools for dealing with challenges that arise.

Anyway, that's all besides the point. I think I have mild turrets when it comes to using studies to suggest certain behaviors or events cause a certain result! :)

Thanks again!

I mentioned, yesterday, that I was worried my chest workout wasn't properly targeting my chest muscles because I only felt it in my arms.

WELL... I'm definitely feeling it in my chest today! Be careful what you wish for! :)

Well, you are spot on. That's actually kind of what he was getting at. It isn't that having dinner had some impact on the grades. It's that it created a habit that allowed for other good habits, etc. Which ultimately led to good grades.

Lots of things in life are connected in strange ways. He also talks about how America had a lot of miscarriages, which turned out to be from the mothers being malnourished, which meant we had to educate girls in high school (they had to have sufficient nutrition BEFORE getting pregnant) - and it turned out mist high school teachers didn't understand enough biology to sufficiently teach nutrition, so the govt had to actually create standards for training hs teachers so they would have more understanding of biology. Who would have thought that educating HS teachers when they went to school so they would know biology would help solve miscarriage issues? Go figure.

I mentioned, yesterday, that I was worried my chest workout wasn't properly targeting my chest muscles because I only felt it in my arms.

WELL... I'm definitely feeling it in my chest today! Be careful what you wish for! :)

I seem to remember mentioning using lighter weights and you mentioned I just didn't want you to beat me....haha....told you so, but I want you to beat me still.

It's all about positive energy as opposed to negative energy, or even worse...apathy.

Making the effort to connect with everyone and everything around you keeps you truly alive. That's why I never stop continuing to research my products, even things that have been out for years - feed that energy in, let it roll around the universe, and let it come back to you better.

Coming from a situation where everyone just grabbed their food and went back to hide in their bedrooms in front of the video games or TV results in complete alienation and lack of affection.

Supposed to be coming off the line today and shipping Tuesday (Holiday Monday). Hopefully I'll have an update on Tuesday.

I have the feeling that Kaprice 's journey will be a success story like HIT4ME 's.
Awesome work, bro! Keep swimming the shore is in sight!

Kaprice's log made me interested in Evomuse products, will shop for it after my vacations.

Man, I really need to get away for a while once every 13 years or so.

Vacacion -singular (typo).
Thing is, I have to fly to Florida to renew bank info to get a new debit card issued in USA. Almost all supplement stores, also ebay declines international cards issued in Bananaland.
Meaning: First vacation -then buying Evomuse stuff. :)

You won't regret it. DCP is the best fat loss product I've used. Epitome and SuperNova are both just behind. All 3 are awesome.

My store generally flags the orders, then after I verify with the customer I override it. So far I've only been ripped off once with a fraudulent card.

Actually, I have to qualify that. DCP is the best since Lipokinetix 15 years ago. Sodium Usniate was great, buy you were always guessing on whether or not your liver was going to give out, haha.

I just got back from the 5k run (3.1 miles)

Official time: 35:50

I went the first 2 miles without stopping. Pace was about 10:30 / mile.

Then I alternated between walking and running for the last mile (100 paces each) EXCEPT, the last 500 paces were only a run -- and the last 50 paces or so was at a sprint (for me) at around 5 min /mile pace. So, a good strong finish.

Official stats show an average pace of 11:33/mile.

Here are my MapMyRun stats. Note: I forgot to end the workout until about 45 seconds after I crossed the finish line, so ignore that.

But check out my pacing. Fairly steady for the first two miles. Then when I moved to walk/run, the run portion was around a 7 min / mile pace, so that was pretty good.

So, for 55 years old, fat, and not having been running for long, I felt really good about this.

The official stats showed me as finishing

71st out of 210 total participants

and 57th out of 122 males.

On the other hand, there were a few young mothers passing me while pushing their babies in a jogging stroller! (that hurt a bit, I'll admit.) :)

They didn't track by age group -- bummer. I'd like to have seen how I did in the 50 to 60 year old bracket. OTOH, I really don't recall seeing very many (any?) people over 50 running.

Here's me crossing the finish line:

Dinner was at the event -- gourmet hot dogs from a place called "J Dawgs".

Plus a can of pop, a few chips, a small chocolate milk.

When I got home, I had a double Twix.

It's 7:30p and I THINK I'm done eating for the day (we'll see).

Macros:

Cal: 1427
F: 44
C: 190
P: 49

Hmmm... I'll probably have a protein shake. That protein is awfully low.

Great work man. That's a great run!

No shame in that, I bet all mothers were athletes.

DANG! I'm not sure what I'd have done had THAT mother passed me. I might have had a heart attack right then and there. Or, I might have killed myself to keep about 10 paces behind her the entire race! :)

OTOH, I can't imagine it was very fun for the young skinny guys that *I* passed. Imagine their shame as an old fat grandpa passed them! LOL!

That's my favorite inspirational video, he looks a bit like you :)

That's pretty impressive.

I assume you mean his body shape in the before pics? You're right. It's very similar. I'd love to get to the point where I look like his after pic, too.

Kaprice I agree - you are on your way. If you want it, nothing can stop you. You already have that body, you just have to go get it.

Amazing job running the race. I would have had a hard time keeping up at 170! Really great work
hairygrandpa - awesome video. That's a lot of work in 18 weeks.

This is Awesome Progress!

I've set a new goal of getting to bed before midnight from now on -- with reasonable exceptions.

Got to bed at 11:00 last night and managed to doze off after about 30 mins of just lying there. But then I woke up around 12:15a and it took another hour or so before I managed to get back to sleep. I really had to fight the urge to get up and read, play, work, or surf. But, I was able to resist.

I still slept until 10:00a. Partly because of the times I wasn't sleeping, but also I think my body needed the sleep for recovery. My new lifting routine is putting a lot more stress on my muscles. I'm still feeling DOMS in my upper back, chest. My legs are a bit sore -- but not as bad as I expected after yesterday's race.. And my shoulders are feeling it, but not quite sore.

My daughter finished the race about 4 minutes faster than I did. Her husband about 30 seconds faster than her.

Now she's talking about doing more 5Ks around the area. I'm considering whether or not to join her. I don't enjoy running but I didn't hate yesterday's race, either. I wasn't miserable and I did get some satisfaction from my progress and results.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to hit the gym today. Saturday isn't on my official workout schedule, but I've been using it as either a rest day, an extra cardio day, or the more esoteric exercises at the gym (sled, tire toss, medicine ball toss, rope pull, etc).

Between feeling the need for a body rest AND being behind in my work, I'm leaning towards not going. We'll see.

Morning weight: 240.3
After yesterday's run, I was hoping to wake under 240, but considering the dinner (and I also had a few more snacks after posting yesterday's macros), I'm okay with 240.

I got tired of the Brite bottle leaking, so I took the lid off my empty SuperNova bottle and replaced the SN lid with it. I'm trying to decide whether to just turn the bottle upside down and squirt it directly into my mouth or to squirt into a measuring spoon and take it that way. I may experiment with both,.

I'm surprised no one else seems to have the leaking problem. It's been with all three of my Brite bottles. I have two more Brites in storage. Maybe I'll get lucky and those won't leak. But my open bottle still has about 1/3 left, so I won't know for a while.

It's like slowly unwrapping a Xmas gift.

If you go to about any pharmacy and ask for an oral syringe they will have a few sizes.

They come with stoppers that you put in the neck of the bottle. Then when you want to dose you push the syringe into the stopper, turn the bottle upside down and measure the exact amt you want ....that is the setup I would go with next.

I have a whole crapload of these at the warehouse. Any time you want me to throw in little things like this (and like the little BMP scoopers) just shoot me a note after you place your order.

Here are my reluctantly posted progress pictures. I must have been a bit out of it when I took them because I messed up some poses and totally skipped others (not on purpose).

I still feel the progress looks more pronounced in the mirror than these pics show -- esp in arms and chest. And my arms and shoulders are feeling quite solid. But, pics is all I've got to show.

From start to now, the difference is stark. I still don't see big differences in the pics from the last set (3 weeks ago?).

NOTE: If my BACK pictures look a bit odd, it's because I photoshopped my butt crack out. No one wants to see that!

Anyway, here you go...

DAY 63 - Sunday

As expected I had trouble getting and staying asleep last night, but I powered through it. As I stay consistent with an 11:30 bedtime, I'm sure I'll start sleeping well. But it sucks in the meantime.

Brite / Epitome

Today is rest day.

They are actually pretty dramatic. If you look at the front flexed picture comparison, your starting point has your gut very "beach ball" shaped. The October picture shows a dramatic flattening. As well, in the same picture, if you look at the loose skin/fat deposits under your belly button, it's almost disappearing completely.

Thanks! To be clear, I do see very dramatic differences in these pics. It's the pics from 3 weeks ago vs now where I'm not seeing visible changes -- in the pics. In the mirror and to the touch, I feel like I'm noticing improvements from 3 weeks ago.

Also, I think it's a big deal that I'm fairly consistently waking up very close to 240 lbs. That means it's real weight loss, and not just water or digestion fluctuations.

I think I'll hit 235 post workout this week and hope to start waking up at 235 soon after that.

My long(ish) term goal is 215. I want to stabilize there for a while before deciding what my next goal should be.

I agree with dsade, I can see real progress being made!!!

when on a long term cut you will see plateaus where you won't see any loss for a week or so, then boom you wake up and 5lbs have been lost. you just have to weather the storm and stick it out!!!

Great work! The most dramatic change I see in the back pictures.

I was thinking that, too, actually. That means a lot since I was pretty disgusted when I first saw the back picture in August.

Your log is really helping to prove what I set out to design....a topical that works for everyone, not just the already super lean.

Yeah, I'm really excited about the progress. I've lost this much weight before, but NEVER this easy. The EvoMuse stack has been wonderful for me. No hunger. No deprivation. No guilt. Just pretty consistent progress on the scale, the mirror, and the clothes.

I keep seeing weight loss products or body building products and they all seem to show the Before pics of people with BF already in their teens. There's not a lot out there targeting (realistically) guys like me who have (had, in my case) 40%+ BF.

Thank you so much, dsade for sponsoring this log. It's having a major impact on the quality of my life. Not sure how long you're wanting to do this, but I'm about half way to my goal -- 215 pounds. Now THOSE will be nice AFTER pictures.

We're with you all the way there, and to help you maintain it as well. Remember, this is a life long mission/goal.

KAPrice, great work. Losing weight is hard, hard work. And it ALWAYS goes slower than you expect I mean, just look at my experience with extreme cardio and diet and I've just barely lost 8 pounds in 4 weeks. And what I am doing is insane and unsustainable and I would probably literally die if I tried to keep it up for 6 months. Which means I will fail long term if I don't eventually go in your direction. You have been smart and done great work. It is much more sustainable with your strategy and you will succeed long term. This is just the beginning for you. Like dsade said, it is lifelong and in that light you have made a TON of progress in just a few months ...a few more months and you will be grinning from ear to ear when you put up the after photos.

Thanks for keeping me motivated.

Very noticeable progress made on the side flexed photos and even on the back, as well (around the upper/middle you can see less fat there).

Keep up the hard work.

DAY 64 - Monday

I'm trying to get to bed before midnight now, but The Simpsons and Westworld kept me up til 1:15a. Still, it's better than 3am!

And I understand why the robot "hosts" can't actually hurt guests, but what's the point of building a realistic world where there are zero consequences for your actions. It would be like playing Call of Duty in God Mode. Ruins the immersion. Boring after the first few minutes.

In WW, if you get shot, it needs to hurt or in some other way hamper your game play. Maybe take you back to the beginning. If you insult the bad guy, you need to know you might get punched in the face! If not, what's the point of playing?
