Enhancing Emerge with Intra-Aid & Beta Alan9 (Sponsored)

Damn man, two scoops huh? I still stay @ 3 pills of BA pre-workout. I will up my BA to 5 caps next workout and 2 scoops of I-A! that'll be nice.

I do admit to not thinking about that fellas when I replied there. 2 scoops when running Intra-Aid as the only BA9 source. When supplementing with BA9 caps as well it may be overkill but if you are doing OK on it and not getting over run with tingles then go for it. Everyone is different. Some guys can really pound the BA9 while other only need a little bit. The magic is figuring out what works best for you.

well, in my case is still get long lasting tingles after just 3 caps of beta. I'll stick to my dosage of IA until i run out of BA9.

Looks like things are going well man! Keep killn it man!

Pure seething anger fueled this session along with a double dose of IA and Beta Ala9. I honestly feel that, for me, double dosing IA is where my sweet spot is.

No prob.

Looks like 2 scoops IA is treating you well. It really is tempting to run it at two scoops myself, but that would get pricey quick!

Agreed. I'm running this log to test its efficacy. And, it is sponsored so I feel I have to do what's best to get the effects the supplement is supposed to give. Not that there are no effects at the suggested, but, simply, for me it works exponentially better at double. Although it does mean that it will run out quicker, at least the log was kept honest.

That is what we want from a logger man. Honesty. And many use more than the recommended dose so no worries bro. You've found what works for you and that is what it is all about.

Nice man! 195 ass to grass! Impressive! :box:

Setting goals like that has always helped me push harder - you know what you have to work towards and each little bit of progress ends up being much more motivational.

You've got 11months man, just keep throwing 5 or 10lb on each workout and you'll be there in no time.

Yesterday's BJJ session was intense.

I need some input. I need to start getting ready for competitions which start in March, but the main one I need to be ready for starts in June. Anyway, I want to be finished with my cut by June so that I don't have to drop too much weight for each competition. If I'm currently bulking, what is the best way to transition so as to keep as much muscle as possible?

Gradually reduce calories and carbs between now and June. I'd start by just dropping cals to maintenance level and recomp for a bit, then when you no longer see progress with that, drop another ~200 cals.

Keep protein high (1.5g/lb of BW at least, IMO) and take it slow. That's what I'm doing now anyways - I cut last year and did it way too fast and lost way too much LBM. Learned my lesson big time. :(

My macros for this winter bulk were aproximately C45/P35/F20. My protein was around 1g/lb of bodyweight give or take a few grams. However, I did cycle carbs and protein once a week or so.

For the recomp, should I first remake my macros but keep the same amount of caloric intake? Or, should I keep the same macros at first and bring down the calories to maintenance?

What did you do exactly last year from bulk to cut that made you lose so much mass?

For a recomp or cut, 40% Carbs is the highest I've seen, unless the person is an absolute ectomorph. Protein is really your call, but as your cals drop below maintenance, your body is still gonna require just as much protein, if not more, than when you were bulking.
For fat, IMO, a minimum of 30% of your daily cals; I've stuck to that for the last year and like it a lot. It's supposed to help regulate hormone levels.

What did I do to lose so much mass?
1. I had no transition: I went from eating 4500 cals a day at 40% Carbs to 3500cals/day at 20% carbs with nothing in between. One day I had a large caloric surplus and the next, a large deficit. Lesson: REDUCE CALS GRADUALLY.
2. I kept my cals too low for too long: I cut from Feb to June - that's a freaking long time to be on a calorie restricted diet without the help of AAS. Lesson: RECOMP TO A DECENT BF%, THEN CUT FOR A MONTH OR TWO TO LOSE THE LAST BIT.

At least, that's my take on the subject. :)

Forgot to take IA with me today. Still had the B9. As you can see, my workout suffered from it as it progressed. I dumped the upright rows finally. I worked them all bulk long. It was time. I did add the DB delt work though.

Today was a sad day in this log. My torrent has run out, and so has my neovar. :(

Damn ran out of Torrent and didn't bring the IA. Sad day indeed. Still holding it down though E. Putting that work in.

Nice work just the same my man. I hate running out of stuff but hey, you can always just get more :) Every time I run a tub dry it means I'm going to get to crack the seal on a new one! Ha ha!

I wish I had the monies to do that! Lol. I apologize for the lack of updates. I was working construction this last weekend. I started school this week 6 classes on top of my weight training, bjj training, and job. And, yesterday, my girlfriend was involved in a car accident. She is fine, but needed all of my attention. Now we can't sell her car. :'(

Sorry to hear this man. Hope every thing works out well for you guys with that. Glad to hear she is ok though. That is the silver lining my man...

Yeah, that's the only thing that matters in the end. Just been a stressful last couple of days. I'm still trying to figure out what I should do for my strength phase I want to go into.

I looked into those links you gave me. I am interested, but somewhat overwhelmed at how to start. I've also looked into the GVT 10x5 program and it seems like another approach. I am mainly stressed out at this point.

I would need to have a week where I test out all of my max lifts, wouldn't I?

It's up to you, really. You can get a fairly accurate estimate of your various maxes by doing a little math and a google search. Or, taking a week and finding your maxes by actual lifting can be a lot of fun - provided you have a good spotter.

I'm glad you mentioned the advanced GVT - 10x3-5 is actually my favorite set/rep scheme of all time. I've gained size and strength on that without fail, and have used more variations of it than of anything else. For a while, I actually did 3 full body routines of 10x3 (only 2 or 3 movement per workout) and everything went through the roof.

In the end, though, you wanna pick the program you understand the most, with which you are most comfortable, and that just sounds like the most fun. As long as your reps are between 1-8 per set for the most part, the rest is technicality.

Something to note:

Although my endurance and conditioning is up to par pre-vacation, my workouts are suffering due to the absence of the creatine. However, I seem to be a really good responder to Beta-Alanine, because that is the one product I have been using throughout my whole winter bulk and I've always managed to keep progressing weekly in one way or another. I still see progress, but the BA+Creatine combo is insanity in terms of strength increases in the 8-15 reps range.

After looking in the mirror, I seem to be losing some size. I wonder if it's all in my head. I hope it is. I don't want to lose size yet. Even if it's just fat, I need to hold on to my weight for a bit longer until I hit my next phase of training.

I have a big tournament in March which I will be competing at 167 with a GI. That means I need to be 164 bucketnaked. I'm currently in the lower 170's so that won't be difficult to attain either. My last body fat measurement estimated my lean mass at 157, and I fully intend on keeping all of my newly aquired "muscle."

P.S. I REALLY miss torrent. I love that ****.

The apparent decrease in size could be that you just dropped some intra-muscular water, now that you're off Creatine. That happens sometimes...

Also - "Bucketnaked" would be a rockin' name for a band. :D

Good point indeed. I just got a guitar... can you sing or play the drums?

Looking good man. Those extra wide pullups were looking extra strong...

At first I was disappointed. However, I am carrying about 20 more pounds than I was last time doing pull ups. So, now I don't feel so bad about still doing the same number of reps. I need these damn lats to grow!

Well pullups will do it. I'm down on reps a bit now too with the added weight. That is to be expected.

Good ****. Double IA again. IA at double dose is sickening. Didn't get full tingles today. I'm getting more BA tolerant it seems. Great great workout. Very happy.

High doses of BA are fun eh? I love BA! It forever be a staple of mine!

Keep killn it brogie!

I have some good doms going in in my upper lats. My biceps too, which is weird because they hardly ever get sore from a back workout. I usually have to hit them by themselves to get good hypertrophy.

Anyway update: this Friday I will being testing out all of my maxes to begin Advanced GVT the week following. I got my trueprotein order today, and I'm dissapointed in the flavor. My mix was WPI Ultra Filtration, Sweedish Oat Starch, Flax Seed Oil Powder.

Medicinal taste, which I blame on my lame mix. I have had the best tasting mixes from TP before so it's not their stuff.

So you went with the Advanced GVT, huh? Good choice. Be prepared for crazy DOMS, but to gain a lot of strength and size as well.

I like TP a lot, but they're actually located only about 1/2hr away from my house and don't do direct sales. So, I have to pay shipping (which still ends up being ~$10) plus another 7.75% sales tax on top of it. Jacks the price up too high to make it worthwhile. :(

They should have a "pick up" choice. Have you emailed them? You live in Oceanside then? I wish I could pick it up, without the shipping and handling the deals are really crasy. I just like the fact that you control exactly what you get.

Yeah, I emailed them. :( I live in Temecula, which is just north of Oceanside. Their prices are fantastic and being able to mix exactly what you want is awesome. But with taxes and shipping, the only thing that I buy from them anymore is their Milk Protein Isolate, as it's still cheaper than anywhere else.
