This is a kinda uncommon one here but does anyone have the guy or in my case a kid that will appear for a good 10 weeks or so and progressively get very massive then disappear for a few months and reappear as a small out if shape blob and repeat this? I've seen it first hand for over a year now

This was a first for me...saw a kid today throwing a db in the air 1-2ft over his head with one arm and catching it with the other.

He was doing crossfit! Ive decided just to call every dumb thing I see people in the gym do crossfit. Make it easier to categorize and makes sense! Thank you Crossfit! Muhahaha
 
Tonight I finally saw some power rack abuse. It was pretty good. This skinny tall dude had 395lbs on the bar sitting on the safety supports. You'd think ok hes doing some half ass squats or calve raises but no there was a flat bench rolled underneath. Meanwhile I'm beginning my chest routine in the other rack because we don't have benches. I see him after about ten minutes texting finally lay Down then press the bar off the safeties to his full reach which was maybe 2"s above the safety and then drop it and jump up like he was the sht! I busted out laughing and start joking with another regular right in front of him. I decided that it must be a new Crossfit exercise!

Pressing from the pins is a pretty common exercise in Westside and other training systems...

There's this skinny kid in my gym and he walks around in mad tight shirts w/ the sleeves cut off, thinking hes larger than life. He has no objective in the gym, no routine. He comes in and stairs at the biggest guys in the gym or someone who is working out hard and watches so by the time they are done he tries to out do what they did. He's in competition with every1 while he should just be worrying about himself. One time I was dumbbell rowing 120lb and he tried doing it and he was jerking it up (I was like this kid is a joke) and after he's done he says to me "not bad for being out of the gym for 3 months. I wanted to say "oh that's your excuse for looking like an jer*off!?"

Im the same I pace all the time. In the gym help me stay focused. And like mike said it paying notice to whats happening. I saved a couple of pepoel from the barbell if I want pacing I wouldnt have seen that. So how is that a bad thing

I just got a whole new wave of dbs coming in with lent. Mostly old and middle aged people. There was this one guy maybe 130lbs (barely out of high school) who was doing tricep pulldowns/extensions and was bent over so far while trying to pulldown on the rope it looked like someone hit him in the nuts before each rep.
 
Guy at my gym that talks my ear off about protein and Creatine told me yesterday that "people be askin' me how I got my arms so swoll" as I look down at his 15" arms, I ask "how's that?" He says "man I be doing barbells curls in the squat rack, it's the only way to do it man." I swear to jebus this is an actual true story word for word. He then proceeds to tell me that these new multivitamins he is taking is really getting him pumped up more than normal, and I should try them out.
 
I was the douche today who needed saving. Fml..I was testing out working out while fasted so loaded up I my preworkout and I felt good at first. I went up to 295 on bench and then started doing reverse pyramid because i dont have a partner to do drop sets and when I got down to 205 the bar got stuck on my chest. I felt like such an ******* but the dude who help me complemented me. Said I've gotten huge in the last couple months. So tht made me feel better about myself

I wouldn't really consider that douchebag status bro. It's not like your some skinny prick who thinks he's jacked and tries to lift it. You just didn't have a spot. Next time do db's if ur alone lol

Hey man, Arnold was the one that said don't be scared of failing ... U went all out ... Most people know they wouldn't make it so they won't even try and do lighter weights or not at all ... I would have laughed tho, but still props

Lol this thread is making me evil. I keep noticing more and more douchey people at the gym. Like the one guy yesterday that kept telling everyone how he just lost his job and was all pumped up and bragging to a trainer training a chick and thought he was bad azz cus he was was doing triceps on the cable at 120lbs. I busted out laughing in the misdle of my set on the lat pulldown when the trainer was like " oh yeah? well that's the same weight SHE was just using!"
