Double Trouble Training Log - CT's prep for twin boys!

I used to landscape. That's hard work to say the least. Probably more grueling than any workout we could come up with.

My body tells me the same thing each night!

Since I had a sh1t day, im having trouble sleeping...gotta try again. Starting a BIG job tomorrow from what I hear.

i used to wake up at 5am, install fountains til about 9 or 930am, then go to work at an outdoor patio store and move furniture, statues and fountains all day til 6pm.

day in, day out, all through the california summer.

oh and then get in a workout 4-6x a week. f**k i love being young haha

I only have like 6 years on ya..but trust me...they make a difference, haha. On days where I have tennis practice after work, im going to struggle.

I was called out today because of some crappy weather we're having around here, so I have made a to-do list...with working out being on there, haha. I am probably gonna try something new today though...we'll see how it goes.

So far I have done laundry, fixed a broken chair, cleaned an older chair, made some calls, bought a new/used tennis racquet to try out (the few bucks my father left me from a life ins. policy, I swore to spend a little on myself), made breakfast, ate breakfast, and checked my mail :).

I still have a great deal to do....including putting together a little girl's swinging glider bench type thing (if I accomplish this today, I will post pics).

Til later I suppose, haha

Something new?! Uh oh!

Day 19

Summary
I forgot to mention in yesterday's update something really important to me. yesterday was one year since I had a ciggarette. I thought that was kinda a big deal!
Today was good. Got some phone calls done and was really productive...as for the something new I mentioned, I did it, haha. It was a workout solely based on pushups. Different variations and such...but it was intense because I had practically no break period at all. Only took about 15 mins total with my Rx stuff....but it was still worth it totally.

The Session
Unilateral Leg Work
Rx 1 - 60 seconds *ea. leg*
Rx 2 - 60 seconds *ea. leg*
Rx 3 - 60 seconds *ea. leg*
Regular Pushup
1 set x 10 reps
Close Hand Pushups
1 set x 10 reps
Elevated Pushups
1 set x 10 reps
One Arm Pushups
1 set x 10 reps *left*
1 set x 10 reps *right*
Slant Pushups
1 set x 10 reps
Angle Pushups
1 set x 10 reps *right hand forward*
1 set x 10 reps *left hand forward*
Wrist Pushups
1 set x 5 reps (those suckers KILL)

Nutrition
At dinner I had 2 stuffed shells that kind of killed the mojo...but i'm not sweatin it too hard!

What Tomorrow Holds
I have a USTA challenge match tomorrow night AFTER work if the weather is nice. I am going to be beat from work and then have to go play a single's match to determine my rank in the ladder. Ugh.

He's so PICky
I put together that swing with the worst directions ever just like I said I would :).

Sick push ups!

Props for more AFI!

Congrats on not smoking! That's awesome! I was doing it a little too much last year and dropped it. I wasn't ever a "smoker" as you would define it, but I realized I was doing it too much, regardless. I think the Flogging Molly concert in Baton Rouge was the last time I did. That was a good way to go out. :)

Dude I seriously thought the pushup gig would be a joke...but when I was done, I was really feeling it. With all the variations, it worked not only my chest but my arms and back also. It was awesome :)

and yeah....AFI circa neg. 2003 forever, haha

haha yeah i'd say thats as good a day as ever!

I was a smoker, for sure. I was up to like 1.5 packs a day when I decided to call it off. I smoked from when I was 12 up til last year. Really outrageous.

Sheesh, bro! WOW!...I'm glad you quit, man! We need more good people in this world. There's no reason to kill yourself.

So, did you make it out to a Tax Day Tea Party?

Day 20

Summary
Today was 100% INTENSE!! I worked for 8.5 hours, I will start there. Had to take apart a few walls worth of wood and such, then load a trailer full of trash items again and then do a lawn cleanup. After that, I was told to go meet up with the other guy I work with at a different house to lay 45 FREAKIN YARDS OF MULCH. We laid it all out and got it all nice to about 3in. thick. Then we had to lay Topsoil!! We got about half done and called it a day....but it was a ton of shoveling and maneuvering the wheelbarrow. I was beat.

....THEN, I had my USTA challenger match. The guy I played was a guy from my team that is pretty good. Doubled with me already being exhausted as well as not playing for almost 3 weeks now...he beat me pretty good. I slid down 1 ranking in the singles ladder, but I have a chance to move up 2 ranks if I can win my match saturday morning.

The Session
Unilateral Leg Work
Rx 1 - 60 seconds *ea. leg*
Rx 2 - 60 seconds *ea. leg*
Rx 3 - 60 seconds *ea. leg*
Landscaping
8.5 hours
Tennis Warmup's
30 minutes
Tennis Match
60 minutes

Nutrition
I had a "lean pocket"....so i guess not totally clean. I didn't eat a ton though...and I did a ton's worth of work, so i'm calling it a small victory!

What Tomorrow Holds
I have USTA Tennis Team practice after work if it's nice enough. Supposed to be in the high 60s here tomorrow and sunny all day...i'm amped!

He's so PICky
I should definitely own this cat.

Day 21

Summary
Today was even more outrageous than yesterday. We had 15 more yards of mulch today than we did yesterday for this huge property. We had a helper for half the day, but it was a lot of work...and we had to finish topsoil and do river rock around the pool also. I was exhausted by the end of my 10th hour.

....THEN, I had my USTA team practice. Just a bunch of hitting....but with being still sore from everything yesterday, it took it's toll alright. I am ready for bed!

LOL I love the dog picture! Sounds like cardio at work is going well for you!! You will be in awesome shape by the time the little ones get here!

Great looking day, Deuce! Nothing like getting some training in at work! I love jobs like that, as long as they let me eat when I need to. I've had some employers that welcome it, and other that hate it...If the ones that hate it saw how much more productive I was when I had a full belly, they might think twice!

Employers in Florida are forced to give smoke-breaks to employees that smoke, but won't give me 5mins to slam a quick meal?! C'mon! C'mooooooon! I don't get it.

honestly, being able to take 10 min breaks in between clocking in, my half, and clocking out, is something i look for in a job. with my current job, i just pack a sandwich, and eat it while im working. and i just kinda sit at a computer all day, so it works out nicely. plus they have a fridge and microwave. i expect to make some awesome progress in the leaning out department in the next few months simply because my diet will be so easy to maintain.

and all my co workers smoke and do so about 6 or 7 times during the course of each day. so they arent allowed to tell me anything haha

I hope you're right about that! Its been cardio for the most part so far...but once we start building landscapes, then it will become a lifting session, haha. All kinds of heavy rocks are needed to create a waterfall effect for a pond.

Right now it's only a crew of 2 people and yesterday we had one helper. The helper is an advocate of working out and he is going to school to become a physical therapist, so he is in the same boat as I am with that respect. The other guy who I work with all the time is a smoker so whenever he goes to smoke, I lay into some carrot sticks, celery sticks, or a protein bar or something. Works out nicely :)

Day 22

Summary
Well I had my USTA match this morning on the single's court for a chance to move up the ladder towards hitting singles this season. I started off strong and then somehow I managed to lose focus and I ended up dropping the first set 3-6. In the second set I started sluggish and dropped to a 0-3 start and was really concerned. I ended up battling back once I settled in and had my head on straight...but it was just too much of a deficit and I lost 3-6,4-6. I was really upset about it....but what can ya do? I haven't hit enough yet this year and it's showing. I need to get out more and settle in. First match of the season is 5/3 and I am not ready.

The funny part is, it was about 65 here today ;). Global Warming must really be effin us up right now!

No, that's me...Every time I hear someone on TV talking about reducing my carbon footprint, I turn every appliance in my house on out of spite.

Edit: ...and do laps in my F-150.

So you aren't so much shooting for Mr. Green of the year then eh?

Dude, I'm all for helping out the Earth, but I'm just so sick of the political spin that's put on global warming. I'm not going to talk out of my butt and say it's a hoax because I'm not completely certain, but I know two things; humans aren't the number one cause, and we couldn't stop it even if we try.

I'm sick of people that force their overly "green" lifestyle on me and other people, and act as though I'm a horrible person for not turning off the water when I'm soaping up during a shower. Effing hippies, bro.

Did you happen to catch who Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize over? His movie won a Nobel over a woman that saved a plethora of children from death at concentration camps during WWII. :wtf:

GORE! Savior of the UNIVERSE!

...Ya, right.

Im sorry to anyone following along that I haven't updated in a few days. I am putting one together now...but I have been so busy that I haven't really been on the boards much.

Day 25

Summary
Today I ended up missing work because my brakes got so bad that they actually lost tension at one point driving yesterday so I brought them to my buddies place. We checked it out and saw that it needed brakes and 1 rotor so we hit the store and picked that stuff up. Turns out after we got in there and looked around, the caliper had seized so I had to buy one of those also. naturally it wasn't in stock....which left me with no car most of today until my buddy got off work and we picked up the part and got it all fixed.

I took the chance to hit today and I hit well. Serves landed nicely for a change, and my shots off both wings were solid. I am really starting to enjoy this new racquet of mine :)
