You should be thankful you got a card. We got emails today confirming that RT will not be getting raises this year. Instead, they decided that they found enough money to give it to disciplines that are having the highest turnover....nursing, CNA, ED techs, surgical techs. In essence, they are taking away from the people who stuck all this out with them and have been reliable dedicated employees.

It’s not just my hospital either, it’s across MaineHealth. That’s right MaineHealth! Just spreading the word on what backward ungrateful a-holes you are!

I also figure there’d be a huge lawsuit which would delay that going into effect for quite a while.

I think I went off topic slightly as usual, lol....I can get on the same page as you if your employer is mandating it. Its a private business and they have to look after their interests as they see fit.

when someone tells me merry xmas i ask what day that is on calendar-i can't find it.... can't find happy holiday either.

until christmas is removed from calendar it is the official holiday and should be recognized as such.

My goodness you still don’t get it? The essence of a choice doesn’t matter anymore if the situation as been manipulated to force someone into choosing a certain way on basic needs. You’re arguing the semantics of a “choice” but missing the bigger picture of true loss of any freedom(clearly)

This is a little different because we are dealing with a contagious virus...you can argue its for the health of the co-workers and customers. You can that the market demands it in the service industry where there is direct contact with customers and tangible items (food, or anything in a building.)

Then you and everyone may think I may be a hypocrite because I strongly oppose mandated vaccines....well I do oppose them, as in government mandates.

So whats the difference people may ask?

What I am saying is its not government's job to mandate it. Its up to the people and private businesses and the freemarket to decide.

And with government stepping aside allowing consumers/business owners making decisions in a real free market system (which America is not) people can also organize unions and protest...they can go to the courts and file lawsuits which is when government does get involved in some decision making. Ultimatly the choice needs to be up to the private business owner as to what will make his/her/gender-neutral's business to survive.

In an Orwellian society the power is out of the people, I am not advocating that, I am advocating a free market system where the people hold the power to make their own decisions.

The answer to 1984 is 1776!

Thank you for rebutting against your own argument at the bottom. That really does perfectly sum up why those things aren’t the same whatsoever. Your miscarriage or diabetes dont directly effect anyone else at the company’s or their family’s health. A communicable disease undoubtedly does.

I can agree it can go both ways. The link is about a man charged with fraud, so I would presume they have evidence of such fraud. Thus, they have evidence of voter fraud.

Meanwhile, we are repeatedly hearing there is NO evidence of voter fraud.

It isn't directed at you, my comment is more directed at the media bias and hypocrisy and the people in society that don't realize that the mainstream media has become a step above the National Enquirer at best.

As far as your statements...I agree, it can and almost certainly does cut both ways. Your comments are not what I disagree with.

Republicans denied it when Clinton said it 4 years ago, now everyone else is denying it when Biden wins. If there is fraud, whether or not we investigate should not be predicated on whether or not the media got their way.

So according to the EEOC, employers can make their employees take the vaccine for them to work there, however there both is a disability and religious exemption.

The first is acceptable, the latter is pure discrimination.

Can doesn’t equate to will. Employees are subjected to drug tests as well but all companies don’t enforce it.

Think about it, if there is a deadly health crisis why should someone be exempt for religious purposes? It’s purely discriminatory. This isn’t an attack in religion. Religious people should not deserve any special medical privileges over anyone else.

It’s just a double standard here in regards of public as well as private (businesses) policy.

If you have a medical exemption that would be perfectly understandable.

In 2005 iirc, the court of appeals actually said atheists are entitled to the same treatment as traditional religions under the constitution.

Edit: Kaufman v. McCaughtry found the case.

i think it is safe to say many things have changed in last 100 years...hell, even in my 62 years i have seem MANY changes-back in the 60s and even into 70s there was racism against blacks-today i think racism is equally spread across the spectrum, but it is in no way as prevalent today.

Whats worse are the rights of toxic stick users at the workplace. These people get the right to disappear have -5-6 cigarette breaks a shift and hang out in the back, but if you go off your post to talk to someone for 5 minutes on the floor you are condemned for not doing your work. Just because people are addicted to a cancer promoting drug, does not reserve them the freedom to have a right to take extra breaks.

I have a coworker who’s deathly afraid of Covid because he has health issues.... but, he chain smokes like crazy.

Make it make sense!!!

Also, very true because it just passed this year in CA that new mothers can finally breast pump and not be questioned or timed. They were being told to use their breaks to pump.

I worked for a company who told a new mom that she could only pump during her break and eventually she just quit. I wanted to tell her to sue that fcuking company!

Since I have always as identified myself as a postpartum mother, if I move to California do I get the privileged to pump when I want at work too??? I mean its about how I feel not what I am that I am judged right?

Businesses mandating their own vaccine policies is one thing, and very well could happen. However, I think the government stepping in will be due to making an effort to relieve the ongoing stress on the healthcare system. The China virus dominates every aspect of healthcare. Even negative tested patients have to be treated with special precautions as if they have the virus, because they could have developed the China virus in the meantime, or at any time. That’s how tedious things have become. Every inpatient is tested upon admission and 4 days after regardless.

The longer this goes, the less healthcare workers there will be. People are leaving and nobody wants to fill these positions. Who the hell would? Even the people who are foolish enough to still remain in healthcare training/college programs aren’t allowed to be in the hospital for clinical experience, as it is deemed to be unnessessory exposure and they don’t want to utilize more PPE.

Speaking of PPE, everyone in the hospital got their Christmas gift today from MaineHealth. It’s a magnet intended to be placed on your car- so they say. It’s about 5” in diameter....what do you think!!
