The DMZ is 160 miles long and 2.5 miles wide. To say somebody crossed the DMZ means that they went across the entire 2.5 miles. To say somebody crossed to the South's DMZ side, means they did not cross the DMZ, but went over the border (which is just a line) and met on the south side of the border still inside the DMZ.

I guess ABC should let you edit their headlines to make sure they get it right

ABC used the term "DMZ line" and the Times said he crossed to the South's side of the DMZ. Neither is saying he crossed the DMZ. The official term for the line is the Military Demarcation Line. Your inability to read and comprehend basic English only makes it funnier to me when you try to use it as an insult.

Yes absolutely, but its a fragile situation still but Im personally optimistic that it will get better. And although Im not a Dump supporter, I still think this should account credit to his administration, they just need to continue doing a good job. Of course KimBigBum needs to stay the course and continue to reform. Things can get sour at any moment so I just wouldnt waive any mission accomplished banner.

I dont mean to sound cold, but I have to question myself every time I feel emotional everytime I see someone's life ruined because they decided to build a house next to a volcano!!!!!! Its like, um...I see a Obama love drone in the sky, Ill just build my dream home directly under it and hope it dont crap on me if a suspected terrorist walks near by.

I agree with you, but it should also extend to any natural disaster that occurs often. I think people that live in Florida and the gulf area shouldn't complain about hurricanes when those happen way more often than volcanoes. If people want to live there, that's their choice and I won't judge, but don't be bitching about insurance and losing everything you had when the same damn weather phenomenon that happens every single year destroys your life.

National Flood Insurance Program aids those who cant get flood insurance on their own (for various reasons) which is backed by government aka money raped from other tax payers which overrules the market value in these type of disaster prone areas.

Basically people are encouraged to live in these areas due to big government policy and tax funded intervention.

Thats what I remember from my little research last year when those floods happened, wonder if volcano areas have something similar that incentivized population in these deep depths of hell.

On top of it all, I hate to say it but I have to keep it honest here and with myself....we have alot of compassionate people, we organize together and rise up and donate to others in times of need. My wife and I contributed a very tiny small amount to Texas last year. It's a kind gesture and I wouldnt change or stop that but at the same time we are rewarding some people for making bad choices which often leads to more bad choices.

I donate money and my own time to people in need as well. I'm talking more like this example. In the town I grew up in, there were regions that flooded every time there was any significant amount of rain. There are now houses built all over those areas and they did nothing to combat the flooding, so it still does the same thing. The fact that the city even allowed them to build there should be a crime.

But yeah, donating is great. Forcing me to pay (via taxes) for somebody else's lack of planning is not so great.

But if you have any doubt about my remark then clear it up before spouting off about shìt you have no clue on. In my first paragraph I was stating during the original arms deal time frame there was a plethera of shady shìt going on between the CIA and government we should all As Americans be ashamed of the whole deal. Then I was stating in the second paragraph other people who only saw the mainstream news quite possibly got wamboozled into believing Obama had anything to do with the money drop. I was not even speaking me personally.

We were both in agreeance about this whole ordeal from what I'm gathering so it makes me laugh that you responded the way you did. I've come to realize sir Aleksanda is far too intelligent than all of us and if he hears anyone say something he disagrees with, whether a misunderstanding of not, he will start degrading whoever said it in a bullying tactic to prove his supreme dominance and knowledge.

And i apologize for wording that incorrectly. It should have read before spouting off on things you have misunderstood. As in my stance on the topic on hand. The reason I said shìt you have no clue on is because you are completely lost if you are saying I was on the side of those who thought Obama was the person who led to the Iran payoff. Good catch that was worded completely wrong. I know you are an intelligent fellow that isn't in question in my eyes. If you want me to give you the benefit of the doubt, it only seems fair to grant me the same. I don't have aggression in all of my responses. Why is it you interpret my responses that way? Because I swear a lot? On here those words don't even come through and it's odd to me that so many supposedly thick skinned, tough people get offended by asterisks.

I was debating somebody else who was choosing opinion over facts and I said they were making stuff up. You jumped into that conversation (it's an open board, so you're free to do so) and said that you didn't believe anybody was making anything up. Now, if that was just a coincidence, please let me know, but it seems odd that you would say that in response to a comment that I made, using similar language and be talking about something else.

One of the few positive things in the ill-named USA FREEDOM Act, enacted in 2015 after the Snowden revelations on NSA domestic spying, is that it required the Director of National Intelligence to regularly report on its domestic surveillance activities. On Friday, the latest report was released on just how much our own government is spying on us. The news is not good at all if you value freedom over tyranny.

According to the annual report, named the Statistical Transparency Report Regarding Use of National Security Authorities, the US government intercepted and stored information from more than a half-billion of our telephone calls and text messages in 2017. That is a 300 percent increase from 2016. All of these intercepts were “legal” under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which is ironic because FISA was enacted to curtail the Nixon-era abuse of surveillance on American citizens.

Has the US government intercepted your phone calls and/or text messages? You don’t know, which is why the surveillance state is so evil. Instead of assuming your privacy is protected by the US Constitution, you must assume that the US government is listening in to your communications. The difference between these is the difference between freedom and tyranny. The ultimate triumph of totalitarian states was not to punish citizens for opposing its tyranny, but to successfully cause them to censor themselves before even expressing “subversive” thoughts.

We cannot celebrate our freedom or call ourselves an exceptional nation as long as we are under control of the kind of surveillance that would have turned the East German Stasi green with envy. We know the East German secret police relied on millions of informants, eager to ingratiate themselves with their totalitarian rulers by reporting on their friends, neighbors, even relatives. It was a messy system but it served the purpose of preventing any “unwelcome” political views from taking hold. No one was allowed to criticize the policies of the government without facing reprisals.

Sadly, that is where we are headed.

Our advanced technological age provides opportunities for surveillance that even the most enthusiastic East German intelligence operative could not have dreamed of. No longer does the government need to rely on nosy neighbors as informants. The NSA has cut out the middleman, intercepting our communications – our very thoughts – at the source. No one who calls himself an American patriot can be happy about this development.

Not even the President is safe from the surveillance state he presides over! According to a news report last week, federal investigators monitored the phone lines of President Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, even when he was speaking to his client – the president!

An all-powerful state that intercepts its citizens’ communications and stores them indefinitely to use against them in the future does not deserve to be called the leader of the free world. It is more the high-tech equivalent of a Third World despotism, where we all exist subject to the whim of those currently in political power.

Edward Snowden did us all an enormous favor by risking it all to let us know that our government had come to view us as the enemy to be spied on and monitored. If we are to regain the liberty that our Founders recognized was granted to us not by government, but by our Creator, we must redouble our efforts to fight against the surveillance state!

Sorry if you somehow mis-interpret my response as being offended. I was simply coming to an obvious conclusion based off the vibe and words used in your responses. I too have a sailors mouth. So the cuss words are common from me as well but if you take a few minutes to read through the majority of responses to people in here, who don't share the same beliefs or opinions as you, with you being fairly intelligent and all should also come to the conclusion obvious and unwarranted aggression is being displayed. I personally think you have some good strong stances on different subjects even when they differ from my own, but also feel your approach from my personal opinion could be slightly tweaked to achieve much better end results. People can learn a lot from great minds having constructive debates.

I guess mistaking my recognizing and concern on your aggressive demeaning attitude to the majority of people posting in here as being offended in a way seems fair. Truthfully I actually more or less was hoping we could use it as a character building exercise.

I will note that you made quite a laughable attempt to make it seem I was a snowflake there and I do appreciate the attempt young grasshopper.

Dude, if you're [frustrated] (insert whatever ****ing word you want because I'm not playing this guess what your ****ing feelings are game) that I keep misinterpreting your words, maybe give me the same benefit of the doubt that you're expecting from me. I wasn't talking about you being offended. You told me to clarify your meaning on things first so I asked you a question and went on a tangent because I'm trying to guess what the issue is--something that I wouldn't have to do if you just tell me.

If you're referring to when everybody gets their periods synched up and choose to continually post lies or misunderstandings based on illiteracy (e.g. adjacent areas of two bordering countries vs the line that makes up the border), then yes, I eventually lose patience and stop being nice. But so what? We're not on a debate team together, so it shouldn't matter to you that you think my debate skills suck. Just call me an ahole (which you did) and call it a day. You don't get to call me an ahole and have me work through this like we're in couples counseling lol.

I can't remember the name of it, but wasn't there supposedly some computer that monitored all calls (back in the landline days) that would start recording if you said certain words that triggered it? I remember conspiracy folks talking about it in the 90s, but can't recall what the program was called.

Im not sure excactly what that was, but alot of these "conspiracy folks" are probably getting their info from William Binney, who is the pre-Snowden NSA high level official whistle blower (which always shocked my why Snowden was such a big deal in the first place as much as I love him.) Binney became a whistleblower back in early 2000's after 30 years service which covers the time period your referring to.

I'm still not quite clear on what you were trying to insinuate with the response you gave to me when I implied dude wasn't exactly lying when he regurgitated the mainstream news reports on Obama's Iran money transfer. I completely agree with you going more in-depth with it and saying a normal person should at least Google the whole deal to see what the inner workings of it were or be a real go getter and look up the true history of the ordeal rather than trust headlines by the bullshìt media. My major call out was how you went all Hiroshima on me about the issue coming across like you thought I was the one misinformed. What recently came to my attention is that John 'the 6th floor Shadow Government" Kerry few over to Iran to "save" the Iran deal. Not only is he a part of an illegal non-publicly acknowledged branch of government (I not long ago provided FBI papers where they state Shadow Government aka "6th floor" and Kerry ran the Hitlery investigation) but he is clearly imo violating the Logan Act.

As far as Iran money goes....it was their own frozen assetts that was being returned in the first place. Now, that roll out of returning those funds was absolutely comical, but we are only returning money that was stolen illegally by the US in the first place as far as Im understanding.

That was a lot of what I gathered as well. We punished them with frozen assets etc and made it right and completed our end of a deal when Obama just so happened to be president. But it was actually to something that had been 4 decades in the works.

What we had discussed over a few drinks was some arms dealings and drug trafficking that was going on around that time frame and shortly after though. So much immoral illegal bull**** goes on that slips almost under the radar. Makes you think the fictional tv shows and movies aren't really too much based off of a made script as they are borrowed story lines from some behind the wall actions really happening. Crazy world we live in.

I've seen firsthand what happens to people who live this life. They typically go into it with good intentions whether it's military, FBI, or law school and sure, have to make decisions that a lot of people wouldn't want to make, but almost always go too far and just end up making excuses. A lot of times it's not even illegal, but sure as **** immoral.

Probably have some damn good stories to tell then. This kind of stuff always intrigues me. I definitely wouldn't put it past people in high positions. Seems almost everyone has a price or weakness when it comes to bribes and persuasion.

It happens before you even get to bribes. You look the other way while low level gang members and drug dealers pass you info on bigger fish. Then those bigger fish either eat a bullet or go to jail and the low level guys move up. Fast forward a few years, those former low level guys are now calling the shots and murdering big parts of your city, but you still look the other way because they still hand you names. A lot of times those names are their competition, so now you're doing their dirty work for them. At that point it's not even taking money, it's riding out the rest of your career on no name gang bangers that give you consistent arrests/prosecutions and an occasional city award where you get to go to a nice dinner and ceremony with the other pieces of **** that make immoral judgement calls in the interest of keeping us all "safe." This of course happens on a global scale too: substitute one regime with another, rinse and repeat.

Sounds just like the movie scripts but definitely and intriguing way to put it. Think about being the man at your particular work only instead of being really good at it. You are given the ability to do that work so good from an immoral or dirty way and you may very well get away with it without ever being found out. The problem would definitely show itself once your Intel did something to get on the radar of someone else. He would most certainly take you down with him when the time came.

The situation you speak of almost seems like the James "Whitey" Bulgar script.

Bulger was never going to end well. That whole thing was a mess from the start. The example I've used on here before is Margarito and Pedro Flores who made deals to help get El Chapo. Again, sometimes people with hard jobs have to make hard decisions, but it's so easy for it to go off the rails.

Yea I agree.

I'll look into that reference. Not as familiar with those names except Chapo of course.
