I think certain crimes require mandatory minimum sentences. if a person knows that resisting arrest will lead to automatic jail time maybe it will deter that person from resisting arrest....and if it doesn't then I feel anyone who would fight with cops needs to be locked up.

how do yo go from mandatory minimum sentences for resisting arrest to parking tickets? you've been smoking reefer, right?

It makes more sense to throw in resisting arrest into a minimum than someone selling drugs (to someone knowingly what they are purchasing), simply having a gun on them or not paying their income tax.
 
Looks like another shooting took place last night and was caught on camera. Very sad and tragic. What's going on? Something needs to change.
