Donald Trump running for president

I take back what I said about your party.

But speaking of smarts....

I always thought the democrats were the intellectuals, and the GOP was just a party filled with rich 1%ers and tough guy patriots who use their brawn because they have no brains?

Grand OLD party. They really are holding America back from progressing into a better nation.

The 911 call that the officers were responding to stated that there was a guy in a red shirt that was trying to sell CDs in front of the store, and that he threatened someone with a gun. So the officers had reason to believe that Sterling was armed when they arrived on the scene. If he was struggling and resisting arrest it's very possible that it looked like he was trying to get to his weapon.

Trolololol. Both parties have plenty of smart and dumb members, haha.

Except that a lot of those unintelligent wealthy people didn't just come into money. They made something of themselves by working hard and working intelligently.
Grand OLD party. They really are holding America back from progressing into a better nation.

I'd argue that nimrods like you who instigate and fuel arguments and divisions between otherwise similar and good people, are the ones who are holding America back.

Very true, I'll post more details here when I see them. If he was armed, the state was an open carry state and its not a death penalty to open carry, unless he was reaching for the gun(possible but he was clearly struggling to move already) if he was actively pulling for his gun and the police officer saw that his life was in danger, that's a different story in which the cop made a tough but needed decision. If he was unarmed or armed but not actively reaching for his weapon, then the cops who shot should be charged with murder.

I agree with you completely.

What I do not understand is why people fight during an arrest in the first place.

I mean I understand, fear of being arrested, possible past convictions that will lead to long term jail time, fear of being killed during arrested, on drugs and not in the right frame of mind, whatever it may be.

The thing is, that's what we have a legal system for. You get arrested by the police, charged whatever they feel you should be charged with, and you go to court where the prosecutor and judge determines which charges stick, and what the suitable punishment is (or isn't).

I know the legal system is flawed, especially if you're appointed a public defender who may not take your case seriously, but is resisting arrest worth all the extra charges that come along with it and the possibility of losing your life?

They could have tasered him, a bullet in the chest by a cop without the guy having a gun in hand or significant proof that the man was even able to pull his gun, is murder.

I don't think resisting arrest should be a death penalty. That's an issue with law enforcement training. Even if he was reaching for a gun they could have shot him in the arm, there are so many options. Seeing as both cops were on top of him.

EDIT: BUT I do understand how hard of a situation that can be, I have family in law enforcement who have been in similar situations. At the end of the day if the man was trying to kill the officer then the officer was defending his life.

I have family that serve the force but I would never say that most police are people like you and I.

A good portion of cops are people who are tough guy power trippers and entered the force for this reason. A good portion have anger issues, and entered the force for this reason. A decent amount of people enter the force for the wrong reasons.

Unfortunately demand is high, so people aren't screened as well as they should be.

It is getting to be very had to get ANYONE to want to be a cop. I would not want to be one, would you!!!

no law enforcement agency is ever going to teach shoot to wound, it just isn't going to happen.

I get that, but you shouldn't be resisting arrest in the first place. The police are there to enforce the law. They feel they have reason to arrest you, and at that point you do not have the right to say "mmm no I don't think so". You let them arrest you, and then dispute it in a court of law.

If you want to reason with the cops that you feel you shouldn't be arrested, fighting and struggling to get away is not the way to do. They still have to bring you to the station and follow all the booking procedures. Try your luck there with reasoning with them.

I'm not justifying their actions at all; just postulating what might've been going through their minds during the altercation.

I wrote both my congressman and senator proposing mandatory jail terms when you resist, this might help curb the temptation to act the fool.

This. Police officers are humans too, not some RoboCop or T1000 with superhuman aim and reaction time, and bullets aren't magic projectiles that immediately incapacitate someone as soon as they're hit once in the arm/leg. I'm not defending the cops on this instance, or even speaking to any incident in particular, just making an observation.

I agree with you, do what the cops say in that moment in time and again argue it once you're in a court of law.

I just kinda feel bad that you feel the need to resort to personal attacks to display your blind hate against conservatives :/
Not to mention your generalized and unfounded claims against all conservatives and their character :(

A few pages back he posted that he took an "I side with quiz" aND he matched the highest percentage with socialist Bernie. Don't be suprised.

I believe that when the majority of cops suit up and go on duty they pray for 4 things:

1 no confrontations
2 they don't have to pull weapon
3 they don't have to shoot or kill anyone
4th and most importantly they want to go home safe to their families.

absolutely...anyone who would fight and resist a police officer has got to be considered a danger to society...if you do this mandatory jail time is called for!!!

Let me guess, since your dislike "socialist Bernie" do you think that the key to a booming economy is building a trillion dollar wall?

Because mandatory minimums worked so well with drug sentences, right?

It doesn't have to be one or the other...

Criticizing Bernie doesn't mean supporting Trump. Have you read Sanders' tax plan? It's too much.

How so? It's fairly moderate compared to the rest of the world.
The amount of taxes someone making, say $50k (not a ton of money, and definitely not "rich") would be paying would be SIGNIFICANTLY higher than it is now. You can't just compare the US to other countries and inherently assume that their exact system would work for the US. We have different culture, different economy, a vastly higher population than these European countries, different immigration issues/laws, etc. I can't see Sanders' plan helping the "middle class." Not that Trumps would either.

And meanwhile in Obama's hometown of Chicago where its literally a gun free zone, they have just surpassed their 2,000th shooting victim this year alone. Now, why isnt this the case in Idaho????

This is funny.

People advocate for gun control (based on total US data) and you disregard these exact stats because they stem from gang violence and suicides, yet you use these exact same stats to say gun control doesnt work.

Lol

there is a difference you know, possessing drugs and resisting arrest are hardly the same thing!!!

some common sense might be nice....

I didnt disregard innocent deaths either, but obviously in Chicago with the most hardcore control gun laws its the worst in the country, and in cities such as Detroit where the police chief called on the citizens to arm themselves things have gotten much better.

Any income tax is too much, including 1%, so I wouldnt wanna be like the rest of the world living as a slave under tyranny. I can compromise and have the Trump tax plan though, but no income tax is the best tax.

Just stirring ;)

The rich 1%ers are EXTREMELY intelligent. It's the rest of the party who think trickle down economics works who are the idiots, hoping to catch a slice or a crumb by following every word of the rich.

You gotta really be sure before you just take someones life away.

Personally, I think the training needs to be reformed so less cops get themselves into these situations.

I will say, its always thugs and knuckleheads getting themselves into this situation, If I was approached by a cop I wouldnt be such a dyk.

Like I said, not justifying. Just suggesting what they might've been thinking as it all happened.

Left meme= definite hand on gun

Right meme= guy dead cause he was (maybe) reaching

Maybe the white guy was asked to disarm so he was, and the cop was reaching to take his sidearm, or saying stop reaching because the cop would rather retrieve it? It's not posible to say from the picture and no context.

And the black guy on the ground picture is even more ambiguous! I can't see his hands, can't tell if he's armed, don't know his health status and don't know why he's being detained because once again there is zero context.

What am I missing, and why would you race bait like that? I'm NOT setting up a loaded question to criticize if you don't like whites, I know people have their reasons and I don't judge another man's reasons, I'm just sincerely curious why the blatant bias in that meme?

I wouldn't be surprised.

Obama is a gay loving orgy holding alien who's trying to disarm America of traditional guns so his alien race can take over with lasers.

Not only will he finally take control of the world, but he'll be cornering the market on new laser-gun proliferation.

Pew-pew-pew

Why assume the guy on the left was doing right by any means? We both literally have no idea.

And also posted the meme to trigger;)

You've been triggered
