the cops thought of me and the few whites i grew up with as white trash...many times i would be with blacks and whites and get pulled over by cops-trust me they obviously didn't get the 'WHITE PRIVILEGE' memo.

when diben says whites don't know what it's like to be poor then neither do blacks because i grew up right beside them and suffered through same conditions---trust me when i say it doesn't matter what skin color-IT SUCKS TO BE POOR.

You ever hear of Social Democracy or Liberal Socialism? Those advocate for mixed economies, not strictly Marxism, Communism, Socialism or Capitalism. It really is not that difficult to understand.

But you keep spewing the same rhetoric that people want Communism or Socialism. Have you ever bothered to look up the countries that identify as either of those? Do you actually think those countries are liberal in their advocation of equality in social aspects?

It is possible to have a mixed framework, as is advocated for, and that happens in pretty much every other Western country on Earth.

NZ is a top 3 Capitalist country. And even your constitution acknowledges that welfare needs cannot be met solely by the economy, so you already understand the importance of general welfare.

The Preamble of the Constitution sets forth a goal to "promote the general welfare." It requires the government to take a more significant role than that prescribed by a pure market economy. That's why the U.S. has many social safety programs.

I 100000% understand that the govt over there screws you guys over time and time again. But you guys fighting against the people NOT making policy isn't the answer. If you try find common ground and unite over that, you will scare the govt into action that actually benefits every day people.

You'll find that even though BLM want to promote some kind of Marxist, radical left regime, that most Americans do NOT want that. They want a country that cares for them, but also one that acknowledges private ownership as a constitutional right.

Thats a liberal twist and slant on the definition of "general welfare" by our Founding Fathers.

General welfare in the context of our Constitution applies to protecting the rights and freedoms of its citizens. It doesnt not empower armed thugs to steal from one person's pockets with crushing force to feed it to another.

If liberals can stop pretending the rest of the Constitution doesnt exist they would acknowledge that their idea's (the liberals) are the very people our founding documents meant to deter and protect the rest of society from.

Police
Military

when i worked at international paper i had blue cross blue shield insurance, i now go though the VA-i can't begin to say how much better the private insurance health care was...just my personal experience of private healthcare vs government run healthcare. my mom is covered by medicare and let me tell you IT SUCKS, and it doesn't cover a lot of expenses and don't even think it is free.

private schools out perform government run schools on every level.

police are not for profit last i checked.

military is not for profit last i checked.

i am a big proponent of online schooling. the kids who want to get good grades and study so they will be able to get decent jobs will be able to do so...without the distractions of troublemakers who the schools refuse to disciple.

and without the teachers union propaganda they shove down young peoples throats..thank GOD my school days were over before the socialists took over the school system.

Union and government employees get great private health care aka BCBS. I am neither and the BCBS that I have is horrible. I'd opt in to medicare tomorrow if I could and supplement it with a rider and be in a much better position. The overhead on medicare/medicaid is 3%. The overhead on private insurance is 15-18%. Channel all that money into medicare and the services would be improved. More choice, cheaper and better outcomes.

My son went to a private school for 2 years and my wife taught at another. HORRIBLE. Revolving door of teachers and the students were much more entitled and non cooperative knowing that they could not be disciplined as the institution cares only about making money and not losing tuition. I went to a private school for 8 years and public for 4. I experienced good and not so good with both.

Police are not for profit, I agree but their salaries and pensions are not inline with the rest of society.

Military also technically not for profit but there are planes and other military goods produced that are not wanted by the military so it ends up being a jobs program. But, I was mainly referring to groups like Blackwater and other mercenary outfits that takes money from the federal govt and doesn't have any accountability. Those groups should be banned and the $ should go to our actual military.
 
One of the main reasons I keep my day job is cause of my benefits package. Day job is union engineer. Benefits are top notch. I own a Landscaping company and make double my union job salary, but its all about the benefits for my family of 5

after you pay into medicare for over 40 years it should be absolutely free...look at all that is spent on illegal healthcare and many get free healthcare-medicaid... that is better than seniors who have paid into medicare for their whole working lives and still have to pay for additional add ons--before they talk about expanding medicare to include everyone they should be more concerned about seniors who have actually paid for their ticket to the ballgame.

my 4 grandkids are currently enrolled in public schools, but we are fortunate to live in a smaller sized rural city that is heavily republican and the parents here try their best to keep teacher union propaganda out of our schools--and if some kid feels the need to act the fool they know there will be repercussions unlike inner city democrat run schools where there are no consequences for bad behavour.

If police would police themselves and get away from the "thin blue line" bullshit more liberals would get behind them. That being said, you are way overstating it with death to pigs. My side often does a great job of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. In this case there was real public outcry and sentiment for police accountability and reform. Then they **** it up with "defund the police". Nobody of any credibility wants to eliminate police.

Why should we expect reform and more accountability from law enforcement, but not also do the same with criminals? In this case, black American criminals specifically since that was the basis/origin of the narrative. There are two players in the story...

Why are black people calling the cops if “kids are just being kids” when they engage in a knife fight? Our expectations for what is considered acceptable behavior for people like this needs to be taken exceedingly more seriously than any law enforcement reform IMO.

81% of blacks don't want less police presence-some want more cops according to a poll done by newsweek...so the vast majority of blacks understand the need for cops--but as always it is the blm radicals who get all the media attention.

the media needs to get off this everyone who wants to be honest is a racist agenda and put blacks on the media that tell other blacks that encountering police with violence isn't going to turn out well for anyone.

With health care I would argue that if you take the profit out of it you take out the incentives for many of the best minds from doctors to medicine researchers.

I agree health care is expensive but that all really started with Managed Care under Nixon in the 70s when you can the merger of the Federal Government and the medical/insurance industry creating massive inefficient bureaucracy, heavy regulation knocking out alot of competition and charity driven hospitals/centers and vast corruption via lobby/bribes filling the pockets of these so called "policy makers."

If you a great modern day of lower cost, efficient high quality service in the medical industry here in the USA look no further than plastic surgery where its least intervened by the Federal Government.

Call me crazy, but if the black community is in such need of more policing (which of course they are), they should be responsible to pay more money into the system to support the salaries of these newly reformed officers. Along with the programs themselves to reform them. Too bad they can’t recruit new officers regardless. Thanks to BLM and the tyrants that support them.

Defund the police? No sorry, actually you are going to be paying more for them to protect you from yourselves. 🤷‍♂️

Your team also screws up everytime they defend a career criminal who resists arrest and gets killed... celebrating them as some kind of noble social justice hero. It's the boy who cried wolf scenario (no pun intended).

The are some legit cases of police brutality, that seem to be relatively few and far between. And those DO need all the attention they deserve. Real cases. But when you start weeping and fawning (and rioting and looting) over incidents like Ferguson, you lose the support of any clear headed individuals.

And when you deliberately confuse "peaceful protesting" with throwing iced cans of soda at police and blinding them with lasers, you lose everyone else.

We all support justice when justice is deserved... but not when its just for political gain or racial exploitation.
