Does increasing DHEA help
Increase free test. Always been low dhea sulfate on labs, higher shbg and higher free test most labs. Would increasing Dhea help overall testosterone free. Total test natural is always 675-775 on average. 44 male.

Any help and if transdermal Dhea or oral would be better in my case ?

Transdermal works best in my experience. This is the latest and best DHEA supplement ever imo:

You've asked this question several times, so the same questions/answers will be supplied.

Your test levels are fine, why do you feel the need to improve free test (what benefits are you after)?

Did you try any of the other options people supplied you with when asked before? Did they not work?

My dhea is low buddy! That was my question and as a result with supplementing dhea could that Increase free test. I am curious bc I know I need dhea and I know my free test is low and shbg high. Assume what you say but ideally those can be improved to optimize so asking anyone that has some hormone eduction and how each could benefit the other.

I don't think it's likely to increase test. However, androsterone is a DHT precursor. DHT is a good estrogen antagonist. That said, lower estrogen may mean higher test. That's purely speculation.
Although, what everyone's saying about transdermal DHEA is correct. Transdermal application means only one liver pass. Oral's two. One pass means less degradation.

Ok again that doesn't really answer what I asked, since my questions just help point in the proper direction. If you've used some of the suggested products before and not seen a change it might be worth others knowing as well.

I ask what you are looking to achieve because just aiming to boost your free test is looking at just a number, if you were to list what benefits you were after you might help narrow down suggestions and even find things that may help that don't have to worry about just getting hyper fixated on blood work.

If you want simply answers on DHEA the suggestions above already pretty much cover all you'd need to know.

I don't think dhea has a significant effect on free testosterone. If your SHBG levels are too high, it likely means that less of your total testosterone is free testosterone.

You can try to lower your SHBG levels.

What's the best way to bring SHBG levels down to at least normal levels?
You can adjust eating habits, such as limiting alcohol consumtion. Reduce the amount of caffeine intake. Too much caffeine can limit the body's ability to lower SHBG levels.

For supplements, i would consider boron and tongkat ali, zinc even magnesium can lower SHBG.

i more than quadroupled my free test while lowering my shgb while taking a large number of supplements. among them were transdermal dhea, and divanel from Acctivate extreme. I dropped the dhea totally and added 6.25mg of a serm i think 18 days later. i believe my total test was down 50 points, but my increase in free test looks like it held. im tentatively attributing the lowered shgb and increased free test to the divanil and other ingredients, not the dhea. im also attributing the 50 point drop in total test to either getting off the dhea or the anti-estrogens i needed to keep it in check. it is possible that figure would have dropped alot more if the serm hadnt been added

Increase free test, not likely , havent came across anything

Increase dht possibly, but ehhhh, nothing to worry about

Increase e2, yes. 12.5 puts it at about 20 from 0-10 starting range. 25 probally wont hurt , esp if want it higher than 20 (maybe 30-40 ) have only came across testing with 12.5 mgs from gym goer who had labs on 12.5 mgs (his starting e2 was 0-10, I forget , it was low )

My DHEA bloodwork was low and I picked up topical DHEA. It gives me insane night sweats for some odd reason?

I'm currently experimenting with doses to hopefully find a sweet spot. If you do use it. Start low (5mg) and work your way up and do bloodwork to find the sweet spot.

I’m replying to the cream making you sweat. Just From my own personal experiences. I’ve mentioned before I dislike lotions and creams (more personal reasons like just the feeling on my skin), but I also sweat if I apply cream at night. Your skin is an organ, and it helps with thermoregulation/temp, so when you put on cream it can block your pores. I only know this because I have guttate psoriasis, but luckily the flare ups are extremely rare. This cream is different from my medication cream as far as ingredients go, but it could be the reason why you sweat.

I had just seen this thread and it looks like you've had some good advice in here.

I prefer topical (td) DHEA over oral for myself. In the past when I tried the oral forms, my bloodwork was very inconsistent on them - it would be low one time, high one time, and that's not good either.

For me, 1 ml of XPG DHEA-50 Gel per day has me helped me keep it consistent. I keep it by my sink and do 1 ml in the morning, so its pretty much just part of my morning routine at this point.

Something that you said that stood out to me is that you've always been low on DHEA - most peoples decline with age, which is just natural for most people, and why topical DHEA is a good idea for most people.

But if your levels have always been low, then something you may want to consider is ProtoTest XT. I mention it in the write up but don't go into super detail bc I didn't want to confuse people, but ProtoTest helps increase natural DHEA levels which is different than supplementing with DHEA. Price Plow has written some articles on how Prototest works by increasing natural DHEA levels; ProtoTest XT allows you to get it by itself and be able to customize your dosage.

A big thing I learned with trying to get my own DHEA levels figured out is that bloodwork results are important, but so is figuring out what level you feel the best at. I feel bad if mine are too high or too low.
