WOOHOO
Definitely adding it to my bulk! Thanks :D

Pm'd

Congratz!! Celorza, that balloon is been floating for ever!! LOL

hahaha anyone interested, they can check the usual pressure of a balloon , check the D[SUB]0[/SUB] value for Aluminum (Diffusively at regular pressure and standard temperature...), check the Energy of activation for Aluminum at 70 F (you convert it to Kelvin) , and simply get the diffusivity from it, a simple exponential formula.

After that , it is just a matter of calculating Flux , which equals the Diffusivity at that temperature, times the concentration of helium inside of the balloon, minus the one outside (zero) over the thickness of the membrane (aluminum wall of the Balloon). That gives a Negative value since the concentration (amount of Helium inside the balloon) decreases over time. The Units you get are Kg/m^2*s , so divide by the Kg of Helium inside the balloon , multiply by the surface area of the balloon and you get the time in seconds, divide it by 3600, divide again by 24 and voila , the number of days :D!

It is called Ficke's First and Second law of Diffusion :D!

That's what I did..

Quite possibly the most useless bit of info ever put on an AM thread. On that note, cool promo cel.

Haha if you were an engineer you would know we depend on that law for materials designs :D!

Can't believe I missed Celorza's first solo promo. Only gone a few days but it seems like a month....

well you gotta consider that a few days missed is equivalent to a few months regular member posting when applied to celly

One does not simply compare my posting rituals with regular members.

Being a builder, we hate engineers! A bunch of pricks with book smarts but no real world experience to know that just because it works on paper doesn't mean beans! Sorry, been dealing with some STUPID modifications from our engineers lately. Want to have them grab their ankles as I kick their sacks from behind!!

Oh I know, most Engineers can be quite anal about stuff...I never go against people's expertise though, if I get to a project and they tell me by naked eye, that the maximum load a beam can hold is about 1100lbs (just an example) and my numbers tell me it can hold 17500lbs , i'll go with the proficiency of someone who has worked there for YEARS...

The problem with most engineers is believing the real world works exactly as the theoretical mathematical approximations of it...and it doesn't, also they think themselves so high and mighty for having a degree...big deal you got a paper, get working that's what counts...hence I do more internships and worry about experience and learning from Apprenticeship methods too...

I get where you are coming from Uncle Luke :( I apologize for my stubborn breed, some of us are wising up and realizing that we must listen to out elders, and also acquiring real life experience :).

thanks everyone, thinking about what I am gonna be adding this too. always open to suggestions, stay tuned for the link!

I'm not a builder but I'll be damned if almost every profession isn't like this..

Glad to know its there :) , hope you it!!

Hope you it? Are playing some kind of e-tag game that the rest of us don't know about? Is that part of the promo too, like "Tag Celly and get a free tub of Focux XT!"?

Hope you enjoy it! And now you get to send me a free tub of FXT just for saying that :D!

Actually we had our AC unit replaced last week so we were without AC for almost 24hrs

Aw that killed mr.balloon :p! At least you got it changed though!
