DC's New Year, New Life 2019

I did share my opinions to be ridiculed here. You should stay out of this. This IS NOT OVER. The dishonesty on this board, paired with dubious "rep moves" lit my fuse. There are people here literally working their azz off to achieve their goals, while there is DC claiming to have achieved (partly) his goals already -and half of this forum is feeding his delusions, you too!

I want to get to the bottom of that pit.

I agree, if DC ate like I do, he would have much better results. However, I surely, as you all we see later, look like some greek god...but I am improving. That being said, the determination and true grit DC has shown, both after his injuries serving and his training is very respectable. Most dudes would have came home and set up shop on the couch feeling sorry for themselves. Overcoming obstacles, as I continue to do, that seem impossible, is cause for reflection. Not blowing my own horn..just speaking the truth.

No since I broke my neck and back, and had half my face blown off, and lost 8 pints of blood in 2009 in Afghanistan.
From 2009 to 2017 when I came on here I got fat cause I wasnt allowed to lift over 5#'s. I have been back at it since 2017.

They asked about when I got hurt. I was responding to it. How about some reading comprehension. And again. I have made changes since 2017. Again, y'all are going by some ****ty pics. That is all you have to go on did anyone even see the side by side that I posted in a 24 hr period. NOOO, because y'all just wanna bash what you can't really see.

Also, everything I do is because of what I did in Afghan and Iraq. Because thats what got me injured, and why I train the way I do....But, you wouldn't understand that.

I agree brother, and you and I have had our disagreements as well. But, we can all agree we are here for one thing to share knowledge, and train. We may not all train the same way, some are power lifters, some are bodybuilders, and some are just trying to get healthy.

:) Well but I don't use pink DB's like you, right? Its not about penis length (I would win anyways). Its about dishonesty FOR YEARS. I was part of it, I admit. First it was out of pity -but now I see clearer.

Nah, I became aware of the false praise given to DC -and the fact that polite advise was ridiculed. DC is still defending his position (delusion) , well, he leaned out on the crap he eats, but now has the strength of a toddler, and the only change I see is, that we suddenly all agree he needs more protein.

And now you have ruined this thread for anyone reading it so thanks. I will not be posting anymore workouts, or food, or anything else on this thread. I will just workout, and do my thing. Its obvious some people just cant take real life.

I think it's enough.. But somethings had to be said here. People post in forums and ask for advice to get some honesty. Posting pictures (probably some) is mainly is not to show off but to get real advice from people on where should you improve and how can you improve. People post diet not to show off (probably some), but, to get some feedback. In return, what do we do? "You're looking great bro" "I can see your abs". Yeah.. hidden under a pile of fat. People have to get real here and give proper advice.

At least in my case, I post pictures in the past asked for advice where can I improve. But never receive any advice except "looking great". There are many with years of experience and done bodybuilding shows. Instead of helping with some advice, most of them like to sell stuff here and push their products or just ignore. The forum should mean much more than some product pushing website. And that's up to us.

I agree 100%. If a person needs advice they should ask for it. I don’t give advice unless someone ask Me,and I only take advice from positive people,with a true knowledge of the game,and with a good track record.

But did I ask for advise? Pretty sure I didn't, but people wanna come on here and bash me cause I ain't doing what they are. I'm not them. And I agree there is to much product pushing on here, I aint here to push products, nor did I ever have anyone say they can see my abs. I know I cant see them yet. I came on here to improve myself, and I am. If y'all wanna go off some ****ty pics, and tell me how bad I'm doing then do me a favor, as I said before stay off my threads. I know that I am improving. And it's amazing that y'all call me delusional, well I guess that means my wife, and all my co-workers must be too. But, hey cause I post some sh*tty pic on some online forum. Must not be doing things right.
 
Well this has all got a bit heated......problem is I agree with some of both sides of this I guess.

A few weeks back I commented I could see you leaving out a bit DC, especially in the back, because I could (in that picture anyway). However, being honest Progress since 2017 is very limited (if any). I don’t think you run crazy cycles at all btw, they seem very sound and proper to me anyway.....BUT, personally I’d want way more in terms of progress using gear (anything outside of trt) otherwise it just feels like additional health risks for no benefit. Honestly my own progress disappoints me slightly (in terms of muscle gain mainly) but I did get very lean (imo, my pics are on various threads) last summer and will do the same this summer, hopefully at a higher bodyweight.

As I’ve said in this thread before I want to see you succeed massively but the nutrition is the issue (although I also recently suggested a lower rep/higher weight on compounds for training would help - suggested as I personally don’t think training with high reps in a calorie deficit is optimal).

You mentioned about yesterday’s food - an egg has about 7g protein...so 14 in your main protein source for a meal. The carb sources whilst legit as purely a fuel are doing nothing else for you - micronutrients are non existing in waffles etc. The protein in the pizza thing will have been low as well for sure. That chicken meal is decent imo but that’s one meal out of three.

Just to repeat what I said earlier in the thread, for a guy your size, aiming to maintain muscle on a cut your protein intake should be way higher (200g plus) and for overall health your micronutrient intake from vegetable sources much higher. Micronutrients are too important in optimal body function, dealing with inflammation and optimal hormone regulation to ignore.....

Point being that maybe if it’s not working as well as it could be maybe considering a different approach is worth looking at (or changing goals)

I will say that I personally do have respect for what you’ve been through though, I’ve said that before. I’ve never blown up (or shot at etc) so not even going to start to guess what that’s like. Honestly that probably does affect how ‘straight’ I am in my approach to comments to you which probably doesn’t actually help you - that’s probably a flaw at my end in all honestly....

Hasbrowns, waffles, pizza, and all in the same day!?!?? Dude, that’s the standard American diet, not a nutrition plan. If you want to have one of those snacks once a week that’s fine, but those foods shouldn’t be a regular thing for anyone. That’s enough carbs to fuel you for three days.

And I can’t read all of this arguing but I’m in here to offer my support to hairygrandpa. His honesty is not meant to be cruel. It’s necessary and refreshing to hear in this forum. If DC truly wants to change his physique then it’s honest people like HGP who will help make that happen. So many others are doing a disservice to DC when they feed his ego and pat him on the back when he would actually benefit from a little brutal honesty.

And I’m saying all of the above after going through the same thing a couple months ago. A few guys were super honest with me and said I look like my muscles are flat, I don’t lift heavy enough, and I drink too much beer. Sure, you could interpret that as harsh but I appreciated the criticism and made the proper changes to my diet and lifestyle and have since made a good deal of progress in the right direction. I still don’t have a great physique but I’m at least making progress. I hope DC can also benefit from the critique he is being offered.

Also, nobody ever wants to hear this, but you don’t need supplements, and you don’t need more gear. Your stagnation is 75% the result of your diet (maybe more) and 25% the result of your training.

And you said HGP is fatter than you but I’m not so sure about that. Also, I’ve seen his before pictures and his transformation is very apparent. So those “fad” diets are working. Intermittent fasting, keto, paleo, or anything else based on high fat, low carb (essentially the original, primitive human diet that we all ate pre-agrarian revolution) is not a fad, it’s here to stay. Do yourself a favor and stop eating all those crappy processed carbs but instead switch to fat as your primary energy source. You’re not a triathlete or marathon runner, you lift as a hobby. So you don’t need very many carbs at all and an excess of those macros will store as fat, rather than help you build muscle.

I dare you to go carnivore for one month. Eat nothing but meat, eggs, and dairy and you will have a more rapid body transformation than you ever had from taking gear.

My point is (don't want to post the 2017-2019 pics again) --> look at the pics. Then see how many people approved for supposed visible changes for more than a YEAR, one was me, I was dishonest too, out of pity. No more bullsh1t.
 
Humble has an observation. I could be wrong, but it seems the hardest part of the “fitness journey” has always been dealing with the social pressure to eat like family and friends eat. HGP’s fasting log highlighted the negative effects of social pressure on keeping to a diet (fasting) plan. DC often mentions his affinity for culturally comfortable foods in his log.

And I believe most here would agree that diet is XX percent (pick a number over 70%) of fitness success.

The observation leads to a question. How do others deal with social pressures and sticking to a diet?

I have to become a hermit in order to achieve my diet goals. My family acts like I don’t love them when on a cutting diet because I want to be “different” than they are. That is a huge challenge.

AM is the first place I have found with so many good people who, like me, are doing their best to achieve their fitness goals. Many here have sharp elbows and sharp critical thinking skills. They don’t hold back. I see that as a strength if we can harness the critiques into actionable solutions for the broader AM community.

At this point, I’m hoping we can reframe this discussion to develop solutions for us all to achieve our fitness goals.

Props to hairygrandpa and DemntedCowboy for being transparent on diet and exercise routines through their logs.

Yall all keep saying the ton of gear I'm on. Pls explain this to me. Really. What ton of gear am I on. I'm on TRT, a little EQ, and Tbol low dosed. I am not doing, nor have ever done huge freakin cycles.

This is over, cause you cant see a difference in a picture, while people in my real life can. You want to rant do it. But dont come at me like I don't put in the time or effort. I dont meal prep cause my wife cooks for our family. I have posted before 90% of our food comes from our land, not from a store. Do we have some store bought stuff, sure. Do I eat it from time to time. I do. But, my diet is good, and I have made changes, and wont be talked down to by people that think they know more about me, than I do. Because they go by what they learned reading some garbage online. As far as training goes I have trained with some of the best, pro's and amatuers alike. My former training partner who I will post a pic of is an amateur and his wife is a pro. I dont do gear to be a bodybuilder, I dont eat like a bodybuilder, because I'm not a bodybuilder. And if your not a pro, you shouldnt be eating like one. It isnt helping you.Invalid Link Removed
