Our governor just canceled all gatherings of 25 or more so wondering if my gym will close. Got a workout in today though. Hope the people running the meet in May give people refunds because if they don't then that is pretty messed up.

Knocked 1:37 off yesterday's run. Seems like 3/4 of it is uphill which really sucks.

March 31st, 2020 (Tuesday)

Run; 5 miles

Had to walk up this one hill because it was pretty steep. Plus side of all these inclines is once I find a flat area to run should feel a lot easier. Hard to believe it has only been 11 days since my last workout, seems like forever.

April 9th, 2020 (Thursday)

Run; 3.3 miles

This was my 6th time running this and my 1st run was 36:30 and today did it in 31:55. Mentioned before seems like 3/4 of it is up hill so even though my time is slow still excited about that part. There is a park near by that is flat so eventually will get there and do a run there. Will be interesting to see how much my pace improves.

how's your body responding to the long distance? are you doing any additional stretching or anything for the knees or feet? I notice my feet hate me with a lot of running lately.

They are holding up really good. Have some really nice shoes and spent like $40 for insoles for them. So far so good, also had issues in the past with plantars fasciitis but nothing yet. This is the 1st time in years been running outside because in the past all my runs were in the gym, even when training for 1/2 marathons. Starting to running on treadmills was the problem.

May 21st, 2020 (Thursday)

Run; 3.3 miles

Was raining and windy a lot of the week so decided to limit things this week. My gym opened up today but think going to wait a couple of week and see what happens. Been 2 months already so not like I will lose any extra strength. Cannot imagine how much strength I have lost and can see this as being my new maxes:
Squats; 250lbs (Light Wraps)
Bench; 225lbs
Deads; 315lbs and probably cannot do hook grip anymore

It will be interesting to see what the first day back is like for you. My money says that your maxes will be higher than that across the board, but if you're like me you'll go in, find a hard 5 rep and build from there regardless of where it is lol

Your bench is always higher than mine though and on my first bench session since Feb I landed at 225 x 3 x 5 so I'm betting your 1rm is more like 250.

You decide to venture into the gym yet?
What pace are you maintaining on those mile runs?

I've been using runkeeper app lately for mine and I'm working pretty hard to maintain 8 minute paces, best at like 7:40. I'm a long ways off from the early crossfit days when it was all 6 minute miles lol.

I am a slow runner. Average is 9 min pace with lots of inclines. Going to go to gym early next week to test strength and come next Sunday, June 14th will be back. There is a meet in September, will be 15 weeks when I start back up, and another 2 weeks after. Wont to try and do one of them since my goal this year was 1 more meet before turning 50.

The upside to competition right now is that everyone is in the same boat and nobody has been able to go to the gym for a few months....

1 set 1 rep 275lbs**Sumo
1 set 1 rep 315lbs**Conv
1 set 1 rep 315lbs**Sumo

Last solid lift; Sumo: 405lbs x3; Conv: 375lbs x3**12/30/19 PR Hook Grip Deads 445lbs

Squats;
1 set 4 reps 135lbs
1 set 3 reps 185lbs
1 set 3 reps 225lbs**Metal Black Wraps

Last solid squat with Metal Black Wraps; 350lbs x 3

Run; 3.3 Miles

Looking at today lost about (-100lbs) from bench, around (-140lbs) from deads and (-125lbs) from squats. Last time I took a long layoff 4 years ago my bench never recovered again and took a year for deads/ squats to get close to those numbers. Not old by any means, 50 in November, but every time I take a long time off takes longer and longer to build back. When I start backup on Sunday going to be really sad looking at my workout number.

Still one more day of this depressing 1st week back. Thinking it will take about 3 weeks for my body to get use to lifting again, special with the frequency I use. Plus side is my form is pretty much spot on, just need to be a little tighter throughout the whole movement.

don't take this the wrong way, but I'm going to enjoy this week as the first time ever that I have lifted more than you. It's only going to last a week, so I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.
