Danb's Mountain Dog and everything else log

Haha def. don't get all that each day. I usually swap carb sources around. Quinoa sweet potatoes grapefruit one day quinoa Ezekiel bread grape fruit the next ect. No real pattern just whichever sounds good for the day. The only constant that I have everyday is the quinoa and most days sweet potatoes.

Quinoa is good stuff man...macro-wise. I like to mix it with a can of tuna.

I mix mine with chicken breast and franks buffalo sauce! I think it taste like dirt plain lol but macro wise it's awesome
 
Kind of a side note...had a meeting with an orthopedic surgeon today for my back for some previous back issues I've had since adolescence that are starting to cause a domino effect on me. Sounds like surgery may be in my future. Shouldn't be anytime soon though the way he made it sound. For right now he had me set up physical therapy 2x a week an we meet again in 5 weeks to re evaluate the situation.

Haha god I hope not! It's nothing EXTREMELY serious right now. Just causes some pain and numbness if I move certain ways or stay in one spot too long. My legs go numb in less than 10 mins sitting down! Sucks when you're trying to read a good article on the crapper or something lol but it doesn't generally effect my overall mobility so as long as I'm solid to lift/run/hunt and hike I'm avoiding surgery like the plague!
 
Had an awesome back/cardio day today. Everything is starting to feel like its really coming together. Refeed meal tonight actually looking forward to it this time. I've been pretty hungry the last couple days. Will probably start throwing Fat smack in as needed

Sorry to hear about the back situation. Yeah 90 grams is a low number but I am enjoying the carb cycling I am doing right now. Although to be honest I am not having any really "low" days. My low carb day is 175 right now.

I was doing dead stop rows for a while too, I love them. great for building that explosive power off the mark.

yup diff'rent strokes! less carbs = more fat oxidation. I get sooo bitchy having carbs that low though. lol so for me mood>max fat loss
 
Haha carbs honestly don't effect my mood what so ever. TBH the 90 carbs isn't near as hard for me as the 50g fat lol

Yeah, I prefer the explosive movement as well. You've inspired me to add them back in next week. :)

i am right there with ya bro :)
i lived a semi-keto diet for almost a 4yr stretch, last decade, healthy fats were plentiful
carbs have never really affected me mood-wise either, but i do notice as i'm getting older that this is going the other way now and my metabolism has gone from fat-friendly to carb-friendly

I've come to find that once you start losing the fat in your midsection, it starts to melt off. Good stuff, Danimal! Keep stripping those sheets!

My apologies to anyone who took my small talk as me critiquing his diet in some way. I didn't have any hidden agenda other than small talk & providing a link to my log. I had no idea agreeing with the other people before me saying 90g is indeed low carbs was going to be taken as me saying anything derogatory about his diet or the person who wrote it out for him. We were talking about diet and I interjected what I was doing into the conversation. I mean if anyone remembers I just came off of low carb days down to 40 g in my carb cycling. So I was thinking I can relate, then I realized hey I actually don't have to many really low days now my lowest is 175g. Maybe my ADHD ass could have just deleted all of it instead of posting my jump around thought process exactly as it occurred to me. However, I can not see how it could have been taken as a slight to what Dan was doing or that I thought he should be doing what I am.

Dan, obviously you are doing a lot right, not just something... We all know that low carb is an awesome way to diet fat off quickly. I would never argue that it was not.
