Cutting those last few pounds

Good afternoon,

I am 19, 155 pounds, 5' 10".

I have been cutting for the past month and a half. I am keeping carbs less than 20% of my 1850 calories. Protein makes up 40-50% of the calories. I go to the gym about 4 days a week, and those days mostly consist of weight lifting with a few minutes of cardio at the end. I have been very successful in cutting for the first month (beginning to see abdominals, veins in biceps) but, now things are tapering out and I can burn off the fat on the sides of my hip!

I thought that fat only stayed there for older people.. I don't eat any candy or drink any sodas, my carbs usually come from nuts or vegetables. I drink the occasional glass of milk.

Do I need to drop the weight lifting all together and spend an hour upstairs on cardio to burn off those love handles?

All help is appreciated! Thank you

Keep lifting especially at 155, love handles/ lower abs are the last places for the fat to leave... google the stubborn fat loss protocol, and that should set you straight

Definitely don't stop the weight training. Weight training will burn more calories and help with fat loss more than cardio will. I would suggest adding in some HIIT sessions in addition to your weight training routine, maybe on your off days. I would also suggest adding in a refeed day every 10-14 days to keep your metabolism healthy. Keep lifting heavy and eating right and the results will come!

Yep! Easier said than done but just keep staying consistent and the results will come over time.

Never stop lifting, it assists fat loss long term better than anything

I honestly don't think resistance training will do much to further accelerate fat loss, however what it will do is help you retain muscle while dieting and for that reason alone, sticking with weight training while cutting seems like a must.

I was thinking I may have hit my plateau with the weightlifting and a small cardio portion which I what led me to believe I should just hit the cardio hard. It's just frustrating because I'm ready to get back to bulking! The longer it takes me to get this shred over with the more time I am losing on bulking..But, I think after these responses I'll just lower the amount of weight lifting, not drop it completely, just to allow for some extra time on cardio.
