Creatine and Preworkout

Hey everyone,

I was looking to add some additional muscle mass with the help of some supplements. I have a good workout routine, and I have seen decent results and go with a 12/10/8/6 reps per lift.

I have only taken protein after my lift and was looking into buying a preworkout and creatine postworkout supplement.

I was thinking of getting Jack3d for preworkout and was still looking for creatine, one that will give me a good value for my money.

I did have a few questions however,

How much water must I consume per day so I will be safe?
Should I still use my whey protein after?
How should I cycle on and off creatine?
Should I use jack3d and creatine or another form of supplements?

Any help would be great because I want to be safe using the product and any other tips or links to other threads dealing with this would be apreciated.

I always takes my Creatine after my workout along with my protein. If it's included in your pre-workout supplement, you can still take a serving post workout.

This has been my protocol for the past 20 years.

You can take your creatine with your protein if you want no worries there. You don't have to be super paranoid over how much water you need to consume everyday when taking it, if you already drink alot then your fine. Jack3d is a decent preworkout there is lots of options out there preworkout wise, remember it is a stim preworkout. Creatine Mono is your cheapest and most proven creatine out there, you can find it on the Planet. Anymore i use Neogenix Bodyforge with 2 grams LCLT added its a non stim preworkout but i love effects of Creatinol-O-Phosphate on my endurance anymore and Citrulline Malate helps also.

Creapure is the cheapest and very good... i drink gallon of water a day...

a gallon a day is sufficient

Should I still use my whey protein after?
as long as you're getting around 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day, it doesn't really matter if/when you take your whey protein

How should I cycle on and off creatine?
Don't. 5 grams a day every day

Should I use jack3d and creatine or another form of supplements?
I make my own pre-workout. I combine 6-8 grams Citrulline Malate, 2 grams ALCAR, 200mg caffeine, and 4 grams Beta Alanine with some crystal light. More effective and cheaper than any pre-workout on the market IMO. I save creatine mono for after workout since it would slow down digestion of the pre-workout drink. I use dymatize micronized creatine mono just because of the low price.

If you take oral creatine like mono you should drink a lot of water at least 16oz. I am starting to use the creatine patch so no water needed.

Okay thanks for the quick reply,

and I don't have to stay off creatine for a week after taking it for four weeks? I have heard somewhere that you should go a few weeks on then go off it for a couple weeks. Or can I stay on it constantly?

NO you dont need to cycle off after 4 weeks.

What worked pretty good for me pre workout was Assault. It has one of the highest rated creatines in it Con-Cret, look it up, I havn't met anyone that didn't get solid results from Con-Cret. I am the only person I know of who just didn't take well to Jack3d. If Jack3d works well for you then I say get con-cret pills, if not then try Assault.

Concret is awesome. Love it. My old source of creatine before I new about the creatine patch.

There are several better formulated preworkouts that also include a full serving of creatine, all in one. SAN Fierce, Gaspari SuperPump MAX, LG Anadraulic State GT come to mind in this category.
