Contest Prep begins!!!

New changes supplement-wise.

Adding 3 caps of Sesamin per day, 2-3 grams of Flax Oil, and 2-3 grams of Fish Oil. I'm not taking Sesamin with meals that have little to no carbs.

I'm also adding 2 caps of Glucophase post workout with my shake from now on.

Also, I miscalculated my caloric intake. I counted the each gram of fiber as 4 calories. Fiber isn't digested. While it's listed as carbs on nutritional info and everything always says "4 calories per gram" for fiber, in reality is has no calories since it passes through your system without being digested. As such, I'll have to re-run the numbers to:

1) Remove calories from fiber
2) Add in calories for Sesamin, Fish Oil, and Flax Oil

I wonder if anyone else can put in input here....I know they say fiber isn't digested like other carbs, but should you really exclude their caloric value given?

ABSOLUTELY YES. As a matter of fact, fiber sort of has a negative calorie value because it tends to bind to fats, preventing them from getting absorbed... There's research on that.

Ran the numbers adding in the Sesamin, Fish Oil, and Flax Oil assuming 3g each per day. Also removed fiber calories. I'm now taking in 21 calories extra than the first estimate. Also, the ratios are now:

60/23.5/16.5

That's definitely acceptable and I will likely burn more fat than previously estimated despite the slight increase in calories.

Seeing this just affirms the fact that when I come to do a competition I will be hiring someone to prep me.

To work, train, eat, prep meals, pose, tan, sleep, etc... there isn't enough time for me to bother worrying about my caloric needs when someone else can do that for me. For the $$... its well spent in my opinion.

Glad you can handle this though!

Oh, just as a note, yesterday was a leg day (as seen on my calendar).

I decided to start with deadlifts instead of doing the entire workout focused solely on my left leg.

I pyramidded up and on the last set managed 495 for 4 reps. I was 182.5 pounds at the time (hadn't peed and had just eaten).

Deadlifting 271% of my weight for 4 reps I think is pretty good. Sure it isn't 300% but it's close.

Oh, and I'm 181 as of this morning.

Don't know if I'll be able to do pics this weekend.

My "automated" oil delivery service didn't deliver. I'm now out of heating oil, and my house is 58 degrees and dropping. It's the weekend and there's a fucking blizzard coming by noon. We're supposed to get at least 12 inches of snow. I'm really fucking pissed and I don't know what to do. No oil delivery services are available on the fucking weekends. All I get are fucking answering machines.

You may very well not hear from me for a while.

go get some electric heaters...sure it will jack up your electric bill until you get oil, but at least you wont freeze to death.

Managed to find luck. There was an oil supplier that was doing a delivery in Allentown. They managed were able to stop and fill the tank. Cost me a buttload though :(

Anyway, new pics taken tonight!

Yeah, that. How many lbs do you feel you need to shed before contest condition is attained? I'm guessing... 10, MAX, right?

How is it going Nullifidian? I feel your pain, I am 14 weeks out and eating chicken breast like their is no tomm. Our diets are similar in some ways. Good luck

Awesome Job Null.... and glad you got your heating oil....
Hey man, that **** was no joke. We were in a mad panicked scramble because of it. The temp in the house eventually got down to below 55 before the oil was delivered. And that was BEFORE the blizzard hit us. If we hadn't gotten the oil before the blizzard hit, the temp in the house would have dropped below freezing.

Found out that the oil company I have a contract with had me mstakenly listed as having twice the capacity that I actually have (had me listed as having 2 275 gallon tanks instead of just 1 275 gallon tank). When I had them make the correction, they said that aparently I WOULD have received a delivery on January 27th had the listing been correct to begin with.

House with no heat + blizzard = frostbite, hypothermia, and 2 dead cats .

As it was the cats were shivering. Their solution to the cold is always go next to the heater. The heater wasn't on but they were hanging out by the baseboard in various spots in the house thinking SOMEWHERE it was going to be warm. We tried bundling them in blankets but they squirmed their way out.

No heat means no hot water. No hot water means no showers. It also means no dishwasher. Blizzard means I can't go to the supermarket to get plastic utensils and paper plates. To top it off, if the temp had dropped below freezing that means frozen pipes, and frozen pipes means no water PERIOD. That means no grits, no oatmeal, no protein powder. Thus virtually none of my food would be possible.

Oh no doubt. I have never lived back East, AZ all my life, but I do get the seriousness of the oil.

I couldn't believe that a mistake like that happened. Because like your cats... old people will go quickly too and that would be terrible because of a missed delivery, elder people die.

You weren't preparing for a bodybuilding contest, and you weren't worried about the life of your two cats.

No I was preparing for a triathlon and endurance race

It was J - O - K - E

With that sort of reply I CAN tell you are preping for a contest bro and will refrain from making any more funny posts in your thread.

I thought the PM I sent you encouraging you and telling you not to listen to guys who are slamming you for being to small to do a contest would have let you know I am on your side but maybe not.

Best of luck I am sure you will do GREAT.

I know I know. I get agitated easily lately. Clen increases my appetite. Tren does too. Tren increases my irritability as well.

Irritable + reduced calorie intake + increased appetite + further increased appetite = one very easily peeved mofo.

To top it off, the snow shovelling I did + the exposure to cold (in my house and while shovelling) while dieting down I think has gotten me slightly ill. I'm going to fight through it though and I refuse to change my diet or training no matter what. Hopefully IGF1 SOMETHING I'm taking will help kill whatever it is before it can catabolise my muscle tissue.

I'm going to call in sick to work tomorrow as a preventative measure and take the day to rest and relax. That should reduce my stress somewhat and give me the extra rest I need to recover.

;) Nulli def relax and take the day off, try and mega dose vitamin c, 2-5 grams and echinecea 1-2 grams. for right now, all will be to the good bro

Currently I take a Vitamin C chewable every morning in addition to my multi. Perhaps for a few days I'll take 2 (one in the morning, another later in the afternoon).

No workout breaks though. I have goals to meet and unless I get really sick, I'm going to continue to work out according to my schedule. Today is shoudler day, tomorrow is back day. Seeing what is possible for back as Middleweight makes me all the more excited to take it up a notch tomorrow.

Hey Nulldifan,

Just found this thread - I went from page one right to page 9. WOW! Excellent progress bro!!! Good luck with the contest!

BV

How you gonna Split those Quads? How about 1000 leg extensions? Lunges? Deep tissue massage? I need to split mine too - my show is in July - cutting to 5% from 13%

you look great man, incredible progress. Just a few pointers on posing, for the back poses put one of your legs back and "sit" on that leg while flexing your hams, glutes, and calves. Your side tricep look to be a strong pose but stand more erect and don't roll your shoulder forward and it hides your chest and makes your tricep look smaller, also blow the air out a squeeze your oblique to show striations. Side chest looks good to but stand more erect and suck ur stomach in to make your chest look more pronounced. GOOD LUCK BRO!!

When's the contest, Nullifidian? I am boldly suggesting you put the date in your sig, so that we can remember when looking at your progress, how many weeks out you are. Might also be useful to keep other stats in there, for us lazy bastards to consult when we're in your thread?

Your progress is pretty fantastic, I just looked at the time elapsed between the 2 photo sets... :hammer:

Hey bro, how is ur diet as of now. R U carb cycling? Your progress is awesome, like GLEN said, try to hire someone. But, you can wait until ur next comp. and if this is ur first one. Just do it solo and you will learn a lot about your body. R U gonna go in as a MW? Post ur diet bro, maybe a carb cut off, but don't change anything too drastically you r on ur way.

Well, I was sick the past 2 days, but I took off from work to get plenty of rest during the day and relax away from stress.

I didn't miss my workouts though, I just took it fairly easy during the back workout. The chest workout though I was already feeling much better so I hit it pretty hard. 4 sets BB flat bench, 5 sets BB decline, 4 sets cable crossover, and 5 sets weighted dips. The flat bench was in the 8-10 rep range, the decline was 6-8, the cable cross was 12-15 and the dips were 8-10.

I am 178 pounds as of this morning.

178 that's pretty impressive Null, you've taken a good amount of weight off there. What are figuring your BF at right now?

jecko

No idea. I know I'm carrying some water though so it's tough to tell. I say I'm carrying water because I've been on Melting Point for some time and that causes water retention.

Gotta say though that the Melting Point/Sesamin combo is unbeatable for fat loss. Lately the pounds have been coming off like I just started dieting. All it really took was for me to get over the "water retention hump." i.e. the period of time where I increase my retained water.

I'm starting to see some oblique definition now, something I've never seen before. Ever. Abs are now visible while fully at rest. I'm talking fully at rest. Not even the slightest clenching. I clench slightly and WHAM.

What's funny though is my definition seems to fluctuate a lot throughout the day.

2 things that are making me especially happy:

1) My legs now appear to be very close in size. Thus my leg workouts will once again be normal. Heavy squats here I come!

2) My right shoulder is getting closer and closer to my left shoudler's size. In fact, I think I may only be like a week away from them being even enough to train both again.

Those were my two biggest asymmetries and I think I've just about corrected them. Gotta work on posing bigtime though. It will be nice to have normal shoudler and leg workouts again.

Null, what's your BF% in the pics on the previous page? Just curious, we look to be about the same and my calipers read around 11-ish.

BV

I don't know my bodyfat percentage. I haven't measured it in over a year. Afterall, the judges don't use calipers, they use their eyes.

However, I do have a set of electronic calipurs. I'll have my girlfriend take measurements tomorrow or Saturday.

Hey Nullifidian how many weeks you got bro, I got 13 doing the Granite Cup in New Hampshire.
Invalid Link Removed

It is a week after the New Englands which I cant wait to go and see. I am hoping to do that next year. I have to put on some weight after this show. I will either end up being the bottom of the light heavy class or the top of the middle weights. Either way this is just a stepping stone for me to get back on stage at the age of 32. It has been 6 years, and 2 surgeries since I have stepped on stage. My time is now. Keep me posted I will probably take pics again at the end of 12 weeks. Here are some previous pics

http://anabolicminds.com/forum/pics/38542-18-weeks-out-npursuit-training-partner.html

As for today I have exactly 8 weeks to go.

I'll see about taking more pics tomorrow. There isn't all THAT much difference, and lately my definition fluctuates a lot throughout the day. At this point water weight seems to have much more influence on my definition.

Been working on the posing a lot. I found a better way to do the front lat spread. First thing I do is close my eyes, and focus on where I feel my arm position. Seems to help me keep things even. I think leaning back during the front lat spread seems to make my back look wider, but I may be wrong. I want to try taking a video of myself doing the mandatories, but haven't had time.

Today is a non-workout day so I may have time this evening.

Oh, btw, I'm 177 now. 7 weeks and 5 days till the Met!

Did some more tinkering with my diet.

My final meal is normally:

2 scoops ATW 20/30
40g protein, 8g carb, 4g fat

I just got 25 pounds fo Blend. The macros on the blend are better, so it allows me to change things a little. Here is the NEW final meal:

1 cup fat free cottage cheese
1 scoop ATW Blend
1.5tsp cinnamon

The cinnamon is entirely made of fiber :woohoo:

So the new macros are:
cottage cheese: 25g protein, 3g carb, 0g fat
ATW Blend: 22g protein, 1g carb, 1g fat
cinnamon: 2g carb (2g fiber)

That's 47g protein, 6g carb (2g fiber), and 1g fat
Calories: 213 (not counting fiber)

Also, the 5AM meal is now using Blend instead of 20/30, and it has cinnamon added for that boost in fiber.

The old meal's macros were:
total: 27g protein, 33g carb (+6g fiber), 8g fat
288 calories (not counting fiber)

New meal's macros:
29g protein, 32g carb (+8g fiber), 7g fat, 275 calories (not counting fiber)

It changes my macros for the day as follows:

original -
total for day: 254g protein, 114g carb (14g fiber), 31g fat
1016 protein, 400 carb (not counting fiber), 279 fat
1695 total
60 protein/23.5 carb/16.5 fat

new -
total for day: 263g protein, 111g carb (18g fiber), 27g fat
1052 protein, 372 carb (not counting fiber), 243 fat
1667 total
63 protein/22 carb/15 fat

BOOYA!

And I gotta say, cottage cheese + ATW + cinnamon is friggin DELICIOUS! Best. Postworkout. Meal. Ever.

Update on how I'm handling various sides. I increased my water intake to about 1.3-1.5 gallons. Last night was the first time I had nightsweats. The only thing that bothered me about it was that it made me feel really cold. Other than that, I guess Tren doesn't bother me too much. Though the acne is a constant battle. 10% Benzoil Peroxide cream, Salycyllic Acid wash, twice daily showers, 6g of Vitamin B5, daily or EOD tanning, and it's still taking forever to clear up if at all. Definitely the Tren doing that. My bacne has never been this impossible to get rid of. Normally tanning alone gets rid of all my bacne. Last time I got a deep tan, my back cleared with a week or two of starting the tanning and stayed that way for several months. This time around though it has been a constant struggle.

I also have noticed I haven't been getting muscle cramps or had the shakes. Every other time I have taken clen I've had both. I have a feeling the frequent eating is what is helping with that. In the past I've had meals much further spaced. This is the first time that in all honesty I'm doing 6 meals per day, and lo and behold no shakes or cramps on clen. Could also be the ketotifen.

As for attitude, the Tren definitely makes me more easily agitated. I find little things far more annoying than I normally do. Plus when I'm overdo for a meal I get exceedingly cranky to the point of being pretty miserable to be around. Been doing a good job though I think of keeping a lid on it; I've only been snippy with my gf a couple times and that was when I was at least 30 minutes past due for a meal. Dieting like this is definitely not for the feint of heart.

For those who have never dieted while on Tren, I offer this advice: don't do it unless you know you have a ton of self control.

Didn't have time Monday to shoot any video. My gf had a honey-do list ready for me when I got home from work that kept me busy till 8:30PM with a break in between for meals. By then it was time to shower and sleep. Sleep is far more important than shooting video.

For the impatience/snappy thing, I find that 5-htp, a serotonin precursor, combined with St.John's wort, a neurotransmitter degradation inhibitor, does mellow things out quite a bit.

St. John's has 2 sides that conflict with contest prep that I can think of:

hypopigmentation of skin and photosensitivity.

I tan to get darker. St. John's would make me burn AND lighten my skin. No good.

However I'll look into the 5-htp. For the time being, I'm making do with just good old fashioned self control.

My wife calls the agitation HANGRY, its hillarious, she's like "somebody needs to eat before they get hurt." I tell you contest prep is no joke but its all worth it Nulli, and looking at your pics, it def keeps me goin.
