Condensing my Training.

First, this will not be a traditional training log.

I've used Condense many times over the last year or so, and my thoughts on it are well documented.

Recently, Grambo gave me the opportunity to try one of the new flavors (sangria lemonade, specifically). So I will review that, I used my first scoop today and will update this again in a few days to see if my first impressions change at all with continued use.

Since I am not going to log all of my training (I do that in my training log already) I will give a brief explanation of what I notice from condense every time I've ever used it.

So here goes.

Strength: noticeable increase, but slight. This isn't a steroid, but there are good doses of ergogenic aids and the results are more noticeable through continued use.

Endurance: this is the more noticeable effect. I will not pretend to be a huge science guy on here, so I'm not going to link to studies that show this being linked to any ingredients. I do notice this every time I use it though (and nitrates in general), longer sets become a little easier and I can generally squeeze out a few more reps on higher volume exercises.

Pump/vascularity: not a big pump guy, but it will definitely increase with use of this product. Sometimes it annoys me TBQH, because I can't get the volume I want with too painful of a pump. Also, I'm not typically a very vascular guy but the increase down my arms is noticeable.

Focus: hard to comment on this. I train in my own gym, so there isn't a lot to distract me from my training. Possibly a little increase, to be expected from caffeine.

For the new flavor, which is the main thing I'm reviewing as I've not had it before today:

The sangria lemonade is not a flavor I can pinpoint, as I don't even know what sangria is. I am, however, a huge lemonade fan. I like lemonade everything, all the time.

The lemonade flavor is strong, but not too strong. And the powder dissolves almost instantly when adding water.

Didn't see any particulates, but I gave it a quick stir anyway.

It had a few small particles I could see swirling in the water, but they were not noticeable while drinking it.

First impression when sipping it was a very refreshing lemonade with a little something else. Hard to pinpoint what for me (not a very distinguishing palate), maybe a tropical fruit mix?

No weird aftertaste at this point, and the smell was pleasant.

After downing the 10oz there was a little bit of an aftertaste. Not particularly bad, but maybe a little on the sour side.

I don't typically drink my preworkouts, I usually drop the powder in my mouth and shoot it back with a little water to avoid any poor flavoring.

But this is something I could (and likely will) legitimately continue drinking before my training.

I will not pretend that I could drink this all day as just a refreshing drink, but it is enjoyable and did not leave any lasting tastes on my tongue that would make me hesitate to drink it.

I only used 1 scoop today, and likely will continue with that as I haven't been using any stimulants for quite some time.

Overall, it was good and I would recommend it to others. Condense is already one of the better preworkouts in its simplicity and effectiveness, so having more flavors is a definite plus.

Will update again after using a few more times.

Thanks for the review buddy. If I had to pinpoint the taste I think I would say it's very similar to an Arnold palmer.

Hmmm, I'll keep that in mind when I use it next (likely Sunday or Monday).

See if I can't pinpoint it a little better.

I mean when I linked mine from the promo I just copyed URL and pasted I was just wondering how u did it w/o it showing a web link

Nice review Jim.
I know you've supported Purus years ago. The new flavors are where is at!

You know it! Haven't really stopped, just haven't used much in the way of supplements for a while.

Will update this thread after a few more uses to see if I notice anything strange (GI discomfort, etc.) and to try to pinpoint the flavor better.

Used a scoop yesterday on my dynamic work, which I didn't intend to do but I was tired when I got up and didn't have a lot of time to get the work in before heading to work.

Ended up doing my usual training volume (or close to it) in about 25 minutes compared to my usual 55.

Weights were lower, but I didn't really feel particularly fatigued going into each set.

Used again today for max effort DL and was able to hit 20# over my best recent DL, without DLing frequently.

Energy was good and clean, as usual and I had no issues when pushing the rest periods on my assistance work.

The initial flavor is definitely fruity, seems like a berry blend almost. Definite strong lemonade flavor to finish it off, with a little bit of a sour aftertaste.
