Clown's "Closing in on 40" Recomp Journey

Back after a week at my mom's house. She is recuperating nicely and I will be starting full-tilt on my workouts and then my cycle in a week or two. I want to get my body adjusted to a week out of the gym before adding in some goodies!

Went for a jog today. Beautiful day in cool Toronto!

Got about 9.5km in so I was happy about that. Haven't run in ages so it was a nice start back. Tomorrow will be weights.
 
Worked Legs today. Felt good to be back in the garage.

I am beginning a slow lean out and lean mass gain for the next several months. I guess you would say a very lean bulk.

Currently I am using the Optimum Volume Training by Thibaudeau (its an off-shoot of GVT). Nutrition is 2300cals at 230g Pro, 120g Carbs, 105g Fats. Carbs coming mostly around training. Supplements staples are OL Conquer Unleashed, Ergonine, Vitamin sup and protein powder. I am also currently using Carderine, liver detox, and prostate support. I am looking to do a new PH cycle soon so gearing up for that.

NICE! If your starting a PH cycle AND focusing on a slow lean gaining phase, its a prime time to throw in an overreaching phase of training and really increase insulin sensitivity and nutrient partitioning

That's a good idea!
I will be moving into a John Meadows program and training 5-6 (maybe 7 days) per week during that time. Should really be over-reaching at that point!

Bench Press ss/with Cable Flyes (tempo 5-0-5-0) for 5 sets

Incline walk on treadmill 10 degrees at 5.5km/h for 12 mins

*felt good overall. A little stiff in the left shoulder and trap, so really tried to foam roll and stretch before and after.
 
Nice going, and like the setup of the nutrition too. Can tell you put thought into this run and should pay big dividends to you in the end.
 
Really hoping to make some real changes in strength and mass coming up.
 
Nice lift, those slow reps at some nice weight. Impressive brother!

That was my limit. My left elbow couldn't take more weight.

Still happy with the weight, but I want to figure out what is up with my elbow.
 
Got a call from my mom Saturday morning saying she wasn't feeling well. Got to her place to find her on the floor. She is now in Critical care. They think she may have pneumonia and an infection from her surgery two weeks ago.

Workouts are going to be sporadic if at all existent over the next little while.
 
So sorry to here. Will keep both you in my prayers.
 
Prayers man. Hope she's quick to recover.
 
Mom is still in Critical Care but still stable. They have been able to lower the O2 level on the ventilator, which is good. They have a bronchoscopy scheduled today. Hopefully it will give more insight into what exactly is going on.

Happy to hear she is improving. Hopefully they get it all squared away and she makes a full recovery!

They believe she has Guillain Barre Syndrome. This is going to be a long road.

The workouts are helping with stress so much.
I am going to be switching from OVT to a Daily Undulating Periodized Hypertrophy program- thanks to BeastFitness. I will be running this for 10 weeks while I am logging Sparta Nutrition's Cerberus product!

Looking forward to this program, and cycle!

Nice! Should see some serious gains from this.

My kids Nana was just in the hospital over the same thing. She is out now but it was scary for a bit they had her on a ventilator and stuff because she was totally paralyzed for a little bit. She is stable and able to stand up and move around now. I think she was in the hospital for about 2 weeks total...
