I got snagged by the CNP team and I figure announcing some badassery to my brothers and sisters in iron was the best way to let you know!

Chaos and Pain, in in association with Alex Viada's Complete Human Performance and Ranger Up, have decided to put that belief to the test. In concert with our launch of the new line of Chaos and Pain supplements, code named Olympus, we bring you the most insane competition of which we could think:
The Crucible- the absolute true test of all around strength, endurance, and athleticism.
Date: August 2nd through 3rd, 2014
Location: Crossfit Morrisville, Raleigh Durham region, North Carolina
Events:
All athletes will be REQUIRED to compete in all events: The entire event will start Saturday morning and progress through Sunday night. Failure to complete any event will result in disqualification- there are NO points for dropping out. Note, there will be two categories- male and female. No weight classes, no age groups, no elite categories... all we care about is what you can do.
-Powerlifting- Squat, Bench, Deadlift- 3 attempts per lift, highest lift achieved counts.
-Strongman- two events, still to be announced. Likely events include a weighted carry (yoke) and Atlas stones.
-Crossfit- two WODs, still to be announced. Likely events could include a C&J or snatch ladder, at least one bodyweight challenge, and at least 20-30 minutes of excruciating discomfort.
-The Ultra- 12 hours of constant movement- athletes can cover as much or as little distance as they like- nobody will win this entire event without pushing themselves to the absolute limit here.
-The Crucible- the hidden event- athletes will not know what this involves unless they are in the top 10 after the Ultra. The final test of strength and endurance- after 24 hours of pushing yourself to the limit, this is the final opportunity to crush your opponents and take home the cash prize... an ultimate bragging rights.
EVERY WEEK, we will drop additional details- information on the event itself, the expo, the cost (entry will be between $100 and $150, with AT LEAST a $4,000 winner's purse for the best male and best female), the scoring, the aid stations, the registration (which will open in April)...
What we want from you: ANY individual who thinks they have a shot at being the best, we want your information- send us an application to [email protected] labeled with the subject line "ELITE"- we will be selecting ten Elite athletes to be on our invite-only list (who will not have to compete for slots when general registration opens). You don't have to be a dominant athlete to compete- anybody with a worthy story, a worthy cause, or a damn clever submission will be considered.
And lest you think this won't be a CNP party, the whole thing with end with a massive party, and we're looking at getting live bands AND djs for this thing. While we're still working out the details, we plan on having an expo, a badass barbecue, and if I get my way a wet tshirt contest at the very least. "
