Griffin allegedly broke Wand's nose in training. Couture basically said that when you have guys like Wand and Griffin sparing, they go all out.

Page looked like he was carrying a little more fat than usual at the weighins, but he may look better rehydrated.

Here's a Page interview from ESPN where he rips Forrest as not one of the best guys in the UFC.

it all boils down to me that forrests only chance is to somehow sub Rampage. Rampage is better than forrest in all other aspects at this point in their careers. Then of course I go back to the Shogun fight, and that throws the logic out the window.

Regardless of that, Page slams Forrest into oblivion early and often in this one

Rodja will never admit he was wrong. Lets see what sad excuse he will make for his Pride fighter getting dominated by a TUFFer.

I'm not singling anyone out, but I don't see how any excuse can have any merit. After all Rampage himself said-"He whooped my ass". Nuff said in my book. What an entertaining fight though. Rampage is so freakin dangerous, even when hurt.

I knew the end result before the fight. All I can say is Forest deserves respect cause y'all didn't give him any.

that was a good fight. I did not expect the end result to happen. I just cant wait for the re-match

So, which one of the "experts" is gonna man up and say they were wrong?:hammer:
experts? nobody on this forum.........but quite a few cool people.

Forest definitely pressed the fight and deserved to win. Rampage himself lost the fight himself....probably by being off for 9 months like he said.... more than Forest actually winning it. A little sharper, more aggressive Rampage & the title would still be his. His loss..now he'll have to earn it back.

Forest deserves to be the champ, because he has put so much into this. I'm proud for the guy and hats off to a new champ!!!!!!!!:clap2:

I guess that's funny somehow?

Anyways it could have gone either way, but page obviously did more damage.
I saw forrest taking 2 rounds, page one round, with 2 being either way. Page didn't dominate any round like forrest did the second. Close fight either way.

I'll admit that I thought Rampage was going to win it, but I voted for and was rooting for Forrest.

That being said...I'm thrilled that Forrest won.

Also, I saw an interview where Rampages trainer who said that if Forrest won he'd retire...let's see if he stays true to his word.

Retire to what...It's page's bread & butter...He did not loose because he's washed up! He'll be back & better than before...he'll lear from this just how he's learned to defend the clinch.

I was wrong!

Okay, I will admit I never saw that coming! I wasn't able to watch the fight, sounds like Forrest had a solid game plan and executed well. I will give him a ton of credit and I am actually glad to see the whole weight class get a lot more interesting now.

How about those F***ing BRUTAL leg kicks!:head: What a bad ass fight. Forest deserved the win but both guys fought hard. Rampage is one of the most serious and cocky looking guys before the fight but anyone knows he is a truly nice and funny guy and quite humble. I was rooting for Forest but support both fighters and would have been happy to see either win (was nice to see Griffin with that belt though). This will be a GREAT rematch but first would love to see GRIFFIN vs. LIDDELL................ thoughts????

ps. CNORRIS WTF???? fat cocky *****R?????? Dude that sounds like some backwood w/t ignorant SH*t man....hope your joking

Liddel is a great ambassador for UFC, but he should retire and keep his pride. It's not like he has unreal fights at this point..............am I wrong? Forest would kill him......

Juanita's arrogance was nothing short of startling in the UFC 86 preview. He is a fat arrogant sack of **** and I stand by my judgment.

I see where your coming from but would in my opinion i think you may be mistaken. I don't think chuck is in his best fighting shape for any of his latest bouts. After all the fame he kind of hit rock bottom. (See falling asleep on Good Morning America). He was drinking and just wasn't training hard. He had a gut in a lot of those fights he lost. That being said i Freaking love and respect Forrest and I think it would be a badass fight. I just dont think Chuck is past his prime, no one has EVER been able to take him to the ground his take down defense is SICK, only way he gets beat is by catching a monster punch to knock him out and Forrest admittedly does not possess that kind of punching ability...... (Geez i sound like a freaking mma nut, guess im still excited after watching that fight lol)

I dont think the decision was as obvious as some believe. Either way, Forrest really put forth a hell o fan effort, and there are a lot of guys now that are going to make things real difficult for him at 205, or whatever the new weight is

I had the fight:

round 1 - Rampage 10-9
round 2 - Forrest 10-8
round 3 - very close - Forrest worked harder and pushed the action but Page did way more damage and landed more cleanly - 10-9 Page if I was forced
round 4 - Rampage 10-9
round 5 - similar to the third but more in Forrests favor - Forrest 10-9

47-47 draw

I don't have a problem with Forrest winning though by giving him the third so 48-46 which 2 judges had it.

Norris got banned. Surprise, surprise.

Griffin gave way too many oportunities to Rmpage on that fight I thought.

He dominated Rampage on the ground, both on top and on his back, surprised me that he never went for a takedown or kept hitting with those leg kicks.

But was a great fight and finished the way I thought it would, as a judges decision but with Forrest making it all the way.

Great, great fight. Props to Griffin, he took it like a champ and so did Rampage, behave himself like one too.

yea you are wrong, forrest would not kill him it could go either way, but chuck is chuck you cant go against him.

Good lord, I can't believe I had to read through all that horrible sh*t. Rampage IS better at most aspects of fighting than Forrest. Forrest was the underdog and he fought a great fight and eeked out the win. Upsets do happen, not a big deal. In a re-match, I'll take Rampage for sure.

I was impressed with Forrest's chin. I think if Rampage would've been more aggressive he could've taken Forrest out. Hopefully we'll get to see a re-match within the next year or so.

I had not TV/satellite because I was moving, but I caught a quick stream before it was booted.

From what I saw, it seemed as if the dec., could have gone either way. For all we know, this could be another GSP/Serra with a very quick belt turnaround.

i honestly think it was fixed. I hate the way the UFC is going now i really think things are being more and more like boxing with fixed fights to promote bigger rematches etc. The reason Rampage didnt finish him numerous times is because he was paid not to.

I don't buy this for a second. If this is the case why wouldn't they have given forrest the decision over tito then? Especially with dana hating tito and forrest being loved and putting on a hell of a fight. Or the second rampage chuck? It would have evened the series and built for a huge rematch. Rampage didn't finish him because he couldn't. He had him down in the first and couldn't. He slammed him when forrest had him in the triangle, and forrest minimized the damage. If page was paid not to finish him, he damn sure wouldn't have tried that slam considering what it has done to other opponents.

The funniest part of the whole fight to me is the reaction of some of the people here. Where were all these people when Nog subbed Sylvia or when Page KTFO'd Chuck? Forrest got the nod in the fight, even though it really could have gone either way, but by no means was the 2nd a 10-8 round. Granted, Forrest had full mount, but there was not any significant damage delivered and Rampage was never close to being finished. However, this fight does help to illustrate the maturation of Forrest as a fighter and how having a good camp can propel to great heights (having Wand as a sparring partner helps, too).

I will say this, teh pride influx has been hit or miss. For all teh good there have been plenty of bad. With that said, nothing qwould surprise me about why and how forrest one. When you look at how the judges scored it, it was pathetic. How did 2 judges score rd 1 for Forrest?

White surely has influence, as in the ability to throw forrest a bone, or a round.

By most accounts the score should have at least been a draw. You can't win the belt by equalling the champ, you have to win in a convincing fashion. The performance did not convince me.

That being said, I like both of those guys. It seems like Forrest could be a better fighter if he fought at heavy weight and put on another 15-20 lb's of muscle, and maybe focused on getting huge legs, explosiveness, ability to have powerful punches.

I've read various boards (with decent members - not Sherdog) and almost everyone (Rampage and Forrest fans) scored it round 1,3, and 4 for Page with 2 being a 10-8 or 10-9 round for Forrest. Rampage either wins or draws. It was very close, though.

Something that stuck out to me was that Page looked very flat footed and not very light on his feet even before the knee problem. He also appeared to be 2% BF higher than usual. I don't blame this on a lack of training during training camp, but maybe more of letting himself get very out of shape before training camp.

Yeah, it wasn't fixed, but that was a weak slam for Rampage. Obviously this was because of the knee, but it wasn't that devastating.

Do really believe Page won that fight. Not so sure...here is the judging criteria and how I called it overall:

-Clean Strikes (not same as heavy punches)- Forest
-Effective Grappling-Draw
-Octagon control-Forest
-Effective Aggressiveness-Forest

I think forrest also let go on the way up which took alot out of the slam and was pretty smart on his part. What I thought was crazy was that he attempted the triangle in the first place! I mean for craps sake it was Rampage! He knocks people out in that exact spot with the slam. They even highlighted it before the fight. When page started lifting him, I thought **** it's over.

If Forrest would have kept his left arm under Rampage's thigh, then there would not have been a risk for a slam.
