cardio questions

Im doing weights for about 30 minutes and then "Miss" cardio for 30 minutes(6 times weights -4 times cardio) would adding Hitt have any extra benefit

Miss=running at 160-180 HR

most swear that HIIT is the best at preserving muscle and burning fat. my opinion is pick a style and after a month see where you're at. some things that work well for me might not work well for you...know what i mean?
