Bustin Broscience - a new article series by the Appnuts

Yeah and how about this statement:

I was under the impression phyto-estrogens should be avoided and then read this:

the phytoestrogens take the place of estradiol and cause excretion of the excess estrogen in the body. Phytoestrogens have about 1/500 the strength of regular estrogen so this plant estrogen is really good for men if not taken to the point that all estrogen is eliminated. Remember estrogen drives the male libido so it is good and healthy to have estrogen.

there are specific ones thouhg that can cause more harm then good

Is this necessarily true for all women? There's a girl I know who likes to lift heavy, but when she does, she actually does get huge and starts to look like a man. Its actually caused her to stop lifting altogether. Her dad is a bodybuilder with great genetics. Do you think she just has a hormonal profile and genetics that puts her over the top with putting on muscle?

she might be a man. have you checked in her pants?

this is a really good idea. i think one to be examined would be pre and post workout nutrition. maybe not which one is best, but the science behind the different methods people use.

nice!!

yes nether is better or more important then the conterpart
yes an article of the ins and outs of pre and intra and post workout would be very intersting

BROSCIENCE BUSTED: Unless a female is chronically using androgenic compounds (i.e. steroids) with the appropriate training stimulus and a diet targeted towards muscle hypertrophy, then a female CAN LIFT WEIGHTS AND LIFT THEM HEAVY AND NOT EVER LOOK "LIKE A MAN"!!![/QUOTE]

Excellent article!!! This is, by far, my biggest pet peeve when talking with women about working out with weights. They simply wont believe that they can actually lift moderately hard without getting "bulked up".

Thank you. It's also one of mine (which is why I chose this topic). Some women don't actually believe me when I tell them that I lift hard (or lift at all), because I DON'T look like an Olympia physique competitor (frustrating as **** I tell ya!)

phyto estrogens effect on SHBG and Testosterone.... how one effects the other ect, that would be an AWESOME READ , ill supply u with a great article too.

wow ppl get to caught up in phyto estrogens
u have to eat sooooo much soy or another phyto estrogen containing type food to see much of an effect, im talkin lbs!

My girlfriend is always saying,"I don't wanna bulk up". Perhaps, this will finally convince her that it is not the case!! Thanks!!!
When your g/f says that she is probably meaning that she does not want to have coat hangers for shoulders...some women do not like that...

I myself, especially, am not attracted to it, but, i admire women that can develop that "broad back" look. Of course, genetics play a role too...I think she KNOWS she will not look like ronnie coleman..

u havent read enough then,

There are both good and bad effects of soy, finding the right phytoestrogen / metabolite of them can have a good effect on sperm, some will increase Testosterone, some will bind better then that of raloxifene to ERb as an agonist (causing positive effect on lipids) and some will have equal agonist/antagonist effect on the ERa, its a mtter of finding!

Genistein bind to the ERb tighter then raloxifen, and S-eqoul will bind to the effect of genistein with out effecting triglycerides or the testis as negativily as genistein

and they do act as SERMS, finding a PURE ERa antagonist is the hardest part.

thats interesting and also there are studies showing that in vitro, but in practical application i'm less sure that the effects are all that significant. Also given the differences in how soy affects asians vs westerners, there appears to be some genetic issues too.
