AntM Reviews BPI Iso HD Vanilla Cookie

First, I would like to say thank you to TheFugitive for sending me a copious amount of samples and allowing me to review them. I also want to apologize for not having a picture, I took one, but do not know why it didn't save.

Taste - Vanilla Cookie i not all that descriptive. I would say this tasted more like a vanilla cream more than a vanilla cookie. It was a very heavy tasting flavor. There was also a slight odd after taste, was it bad, no, but it wasn't mind blowing either. If I had to compare it to something, imagine take the cream from a cream puff and just eat that, without the pastry.8/10

Profile - Very good. One scoop is 32g and provides 120 cals, 25g of protein, 2 grams of carbs and 1 gram of fat. It also does not contain any taurine/glycine. Anyone can fit this powder into their daily diet. 10/10

Mixability - Perfect. I do not drink shakes. I bake with protein or in this case, for a test/review, combine the powder with non fat plain Greek yogurt and make a pudding. The mixability this way was perfect. Not clumps when just mixing it with a spoon and the powder did not stick to the sides of the bowl. A little thicker than I thought it would mix, but to me, the thicker the better. 10/10

Overall - I would highly suggest this product to anyone looking for an isolate powder. Are isolate powders necessary, not really, however, if one is lactose intolerant, I would definitely give this a shot. The name of the flavor is open to interpretation. I was expecting something light, almost like a vanilla waffer. The taste, to me, is more like a heavy vanilla cream. There is a slight odd after taste, but it is barely noticeable. One suggestion I would make to make the flavor true to its name is to add real vanilla cookie pieces. I think that would give it some texture and more of a vanilla cookie presence. 9/10

Bpi best protein: vanilla swirl

Upon The fugitive's suggestion I went with (cashew) milk instead of water for this one. 1c of milk with 1 package.

This mixture came out very thick and creamy. The texture was spectacular, as I would have expected after the creaminess of the chocolate. Unfortunately, the flavor was almost non existent. I'm a huge vanilla fan and wanted something with a nice, sweet, flavoring but unfortunately it was barely strong enough to taste over the natural flavor of the cashew milk. Basically made a slightly sweeter version of the cashew milk. The vanilla flavoring was more of a scent-initiated perception than a true taste. I tried adding a little bit more water to try to dull the cashew milk taste but this just dulled the entire mix even further and I pretty much just chugged it after this.

This, honestly, was far more disappointing than the chocolate. Many vanillas are light in flavor as its not a particularly overpowering flavor to begin with but this was nearly flavorless. This would again go at the bottom of vanilla proteins for me.

I'm giving this a shot tomorrow post workout. I think you would really enjoy the vanilla cookie based on what you wrote.

I must say, I was really disappointed with this flavor. A better name would have been chocolate or milk chocolate. When I think of a chocolate brownie, especially with the picture on the label, I think of something thick, rich, and decadent. This was the complete opposite. It was just like a regular milk chocolate with nothing special about it. It was not sweet, bitter, or anything of the sort. This flavor pretty much fell flat on its face in my opinion. Yes, I did use Plain Fat Free Greek Yogurt, but I always have my protein like this and I used the same amount of yogurt I normally do. So it was overpowered by the yogurt.

I'm not sure what to say, this vanilla is super creamy and tastes just like melted soft serve ice cream. I gonna crack a sample pack and report back

AntM Reviews BPI Best BCAA

Taste - So I had a sample of the Grape flavor. It was perfect, it tasted like a grape flavor lollipop. It was not overly sweet and the taste was strong, even in 24 ounces of water. 10/10

Price - I have seen it for around $23 for 30 servings. This seems pricey, and it is for only 5 grams of BCAA, but I will address this in the next section. 6/10

Profile - 5 grams of BCAA per serving and a CLA Matrix for fat loss highlight Best BCAA. Honestly, I do not by the fat loss properties and think the product could do without this. Also, the price is high because Best BCAA uses "OLIGOPEPTIDES" which is "The oligiopeptide-based branched chain amino acids may act as a better transport vehicle, allowing for more efficient metabolization, greater bio-activity, enhanced onset time, and a generally improved BCAA model. And, the scientific minds at BPI Sports didn't stop here ..." and then the ad talks about how new scientific research has shown this model is the best, etc. However, there are no references to these scientific findings. Maybe I'm being over critical here, but if a product is going to state scientific research, it should be referenced. Personally, I do not buy into this, maybe someone has literature that will change my mind. Just talking into account the profile minus this new BCAA model, it is average. 7/10

Overall - The one flavor I had was spectacular. there are absolutely no complaints there. However, I think the product is oerpriced for what is in it. If the product was cheaper, then I would recommend it. Maybe if I see something more concrete about this new BCAA model, my mind would change. Also, I do not think the CLA matrix is needed. 7/10

When I first opened the packet, I was given the sweet smell of bananas. The smell was great, it was an aroma just like bananas that are just about to go brown, when they really give off that banana scent. I mixed it again with plain fat free Greek yogurt. Upon tasting it, I was given a nice banana flavor. A little weak for my liking, but it was noticeable. After I ingested it though, there was a pretty noticeable artificial after taste. This has been consistent with the three samples I have tried so far. Once again, disappointing. The banana flavoring is good, but the after taste absolutely killed it. I do not know if all of the flavors are like this if mixed with Greek yogurt, which would be odd. I have never had this problem with so many powders before. Maybe it is something BPI does with the flavoring that does not agree with Greek yogurt. We will see how the Vanilla Swirl is. I also have the Cutler Total Protein left too.

Bpi Iso HD: vanilla cookie

As an isolate I expect this to be a very thin mixing and potentially light flavor (as experienced with the best protein). I mixed this with 6oz of water in order to prevent the cashew milk taste issue that o had yesterday with the vanilla best protein.

Upon mixing I was surprised to see that it mixed a good bit creamier/thicker than I had expected. My first sip I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor as it was a stronger than expected (and certainly stronger than the best protein). It was sweet and sugary, though not particularly "vanilla"-y. It was different than I would have guessed and if I had to name it myself I would have called it something like "sweet cream" or "cream filling" ha. Definitely would not relate it to a vanilla cookie (I'm thinking a sugar cookie or nilla wafer). I took a few more sips to get a better feel for the taste and couldn't come up with anything else.

After seeing that it had slightly more flavor I decided to put it to the test and double the water to 12oz. This severely dulled the flavor to the point that it was a barely-there sweetness to some off colored, slightly thick water ha. Definitely not a shaker full type of flavoring.

Overall, I would rate this significantly higher than the best protein vanilla, but still not among the upper echelon of vanilla flavors. Ok, but not great. Would not purchase a full tub based on this flavor unless I truly needed a pure isolate protein, and even then I would probably look at some other flavors first.

It's almost like you took my review, glad my taste buds aren't broken!

Tried the Vanilla Cookie this morning. Not the strongest tasting Vanilla but not bad! I mixed it into my smoothie like I usually take my protein to compare apples to apples. This mixed amazingly well, no grittiness added to my shake like I've been getting and actually made it a bit frothy. The taste was definitely mild compared to other vanillas I've had which is not necessarily a bad thing if you're just looking for a subtle vanilla taste. So I enjoyed the consistency and easy mixability but was a bit underwhelmed by the taste.

Tried out the 2 flavors of Best Protein on Saturday night. Brought the 2 packets of ISO-HD to use post-workout, today.

I'll get my reviews up as a collective post (and then have to try the Cutler pack, too).

1.M.R. Vortex: Snow Cone Review

Huge thanks to TheFugitive for sending me these samples. This is the first sample I've tried since I recieved them. Took the full packet of 1.M.R. Vortex this weekend and hit an arm workout. Had an insane workout! Read my full review below.

Taste: 9/10

Couldn't have named it more accurately. The taste of this stuff is phenomenal! I mixed the full packet in about 16oz of water and some ice. I was impressed to say the least. The flavor was spot on, reminded me of my childhood days eating snowcones. Stuff is super tasty. Some pre-workouts you can still taste the ingredients mixed in with the flavoring, but that isn't the case with Vortex. Given to me blind, I would have thought it was Kool-aid. Mix this up with few cubes of ice in some ice cold water and you won't be disappointed.

Effectiveness: 8/10

I was pretty impressed with how effective this was. I haven't really felt a tingling feeling or any type of skin heat from a pre-workout in a while. But Vortex had me feeling warm and ready to hit the weights. The energy was great, I felt alert and focused. I actually got a slight rash on my face from it, and my ears were on fire when I started my workout. This sensation quickly dissipated when I started my workout, but the energy stayed for the whole workout. I got a great pump from this product too! Definitely very effective.

Profile/Content: 8/10

At first glance reading the profile, I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. I'm not a huge fan of prop. blends, but I'm always down to try them out. I'm glad I got the chance to sample this product, because just looking at the profile wouldn't have convinced me to buy it. But I can assure you, there is PLENTY of high quality, effective ingredients in this product. The ingredient profile isn't very long, but it goes to show you that what they put in is very effective. Definitely impressed by this product.

Overall: 8.5/10

I would definitely recommend everyone to try out 1.M.R. Vortex. The flavoring is on point and the product packs a serious punch. I will definitely be picking up a tub of this product after having tried the sample packet. My only reasoning for not giving it a 10 is due to the fact that its a prop. blend. I wish I knew exactly how the ingredients were dosed, but regardless its evident that it is effective and I really enjoyed getting to sample it. Thanks again for the opportunity!

I know we didn't receive this, but I had it left over from another order. Very, very good.

AntM Reviews BPI Vanilla Caramel Whey HD

Invalid Link Removed

I had a sample of this lying around from a previous order and decided to give it a go. If you're looking for a heavy caramel taste, you will not get that, but there are hints of it. It mixed thick and immediately reminded me on one thing; eating vanilla cake frosting right out of the container. Yes, when it was that thick it had that exact taste. Whey HD can be great as a frosting for baked items. It is a solid powder and I did not have an artificial after taste. It also tasted more true to the name f the product, although, barely. I would give this is shot.

Used the banana cream this morning. Enjoyed it! As with the other is mixed very well with no foaming or grittiness. The banana was very subtle which I liked as it added to the flavor without over powering it. Kinda reminded me of a lighter banana pudding. No issues after drinking, felt full and refreshed

I had the Best Protein choc fudge last night...while normally not a fan of choc protein, was pleasantly surprised by the light choc taste it offered and really enjoyed it. Though not sure I'd describe it as a 'fudge' flavor necessarily. Mixed well and was smooth, still not as thick as I'd normally like, but probably using less water would help that out some....but overall if I were in the market for a choc protein, I wouldn't hesitate on this one.

Damn, I just realized that one cannot copy and past the attachment from another post. Sorry for not having the pics. It will not happen with the final two samples. Just pictures can be found in my lifting log.

Best Protein - Vanilla Swirl

Okay, so for both of the Best Protein samples, I mixed with the specified 6 oz. of water per the instructions. I will say that I stuck to this based on what others had previously stated in here. When making a shake, I generally use more water and I almost always have 2 scoops of something, so this is merely a taste sampling and not indicative of how I'd mix up a normal shake. The same is true for using water instead of milk or anything else; only on the rarest of occasions do I mix a shake with anything other than ice cold water (nor do I add fruit, other goodies, or blend it). When I have a shake it's for ease and macros, so I'm not putting in any amount of additional work with it (otherwise I'll just prepare actual food).

So, this mixed up very well in the 6 oz of water. I will say that I was surprised since I never use that small of an amount of liquid. I thought for sure it would be all clumped up, stuck to the corners of the lid, etc. -- it wasn't. Mixed up very well and went down smooth.

As for flavor, there wasn't much of one. Not a negative; not a bad taste -- just not much of a taste at all. As I've pointed out elsewhere, I realized that I typically don't get just plain vanilla or chocolate proteins anymore; I almost always get a specialty type flavor, so I don't have a lot of benchmarks to weigh this against in the same category (that I've had within the past year or so).

If I saw a good deal on this, I wouldn't pass it up. For economical purposes, I'd have no trouble buying and drinking this. That said, I also wouldn't seek it out, nor would it be one that I'd take my time sipping on (granted I very rarely do anything other than chug protein even when it's delicious).

Best Protein - Chocolate Brownie

The same holds true for this one, as above (in regards to mixability and everything else).

As for flavoring, it was another one that wasn't very strong, but this one was a bit unappealing to me. I'm sure if mixed with milk or anything else it would improve it, but in just water it was one that I chose to slam after the first couple sips where I was trying to assess a new taste.

If this one was an insane deal, I'd probably still buy it, but I'd have a bit more reservation with this one. It unfortunately took me back to the old Six Star days from Walmart.

ISO-HD - Banana Cream Pie

Again, I normally always do about 50g protein if I'm making up a shake. Post-workout I'll do 2 scoops of isolate, so that's where I used the ISO-HD samples. These also said to mix with 5-6 oz of water, but I went with about 8 oz. I couldn't bring myself to do so little for fear that it would clump (and I was at the gym with no other resources lol). Tried this one first. Put 8 oz water into the shaker, dumped this in, shook it up. Once again, mixed perfectly. No clumping, no sticking to the lid, nothing.

Taste on this was pretty darn good. I'm not a fan of banana, so that should tell you something lol. It's a pretty typical banana flavoring that you get at first, but what was cool was the subtle aftertaste that was harder for me to put my finger on, but was complex enough to not just be straight banana.

Sometimes (depending on my workout, macro needs, etc.) I'll add in dextrose to my isolate shakes and I think this would have benefited from that. It's good, but I think that bit of extra sweetness may have pushed it over the top (so keep that in mind if you're looking to buy and are one who adds dextrose to your shakes).

As I said, I'm not a fan of banana, but I'd happily drink this one again. This was my favorite out of all that I tried.

ISO-HD - Vanilla Cookie

Same info as above -- mixability was great and was done in 8 oz. water after my workout, right after I did the banana cream pie.

Flavoring was good -- better than the Best Protein vanilla. Not as nice as the banana, but still a good flavor with again, a complex aftertaste. Like some others have said, not sure I'd call it "cookie" but it's certainly something.

The ISO-HD is definitely the superior tasting line based on my observations of just trying the flavors of 2 of each and the banana cream pie was my favorite one of the bunch.

Thanks very much to TheFugitive and BPI for the chance to sample these. Also, if you haven't tried 1MR Vortex or Best Creatine or Best BCAA, I highly recommend those -- the arctic ice and snowcone flavors are phenomenal -- out of the ballpark.

Bpi ISO HD: banana creme pie

Last but not least! I purposely saved this for last as its the most unique of the flavors. There are only a few banana proteins on the market so I had high hopes that this would compare with the old oxyelite protein (far and away my #1 banana).

As before, I mixed with 6oz of water for fair comparison. This mixed up reasonably thick (again surprising for an isolate but seems common among the bpi proteins). Initial taste test gave me a pretty decent hit of banana, similar to the oxyelite or banana runts, but not nearly as sweet. As with all of the other flavors, the taste is light and I would consider this closer to a mid-early ripeness level banana and not a browning super-sweet level or candy banana level. I was a bit disappointed in the sweetness factor as for a "creme pie" I expect there to be a bit of that creamy flavor but it just never came.

As with the others I also tried adding more water, but alas, even with a bit stronger flavor it was dull to tasteless with just 12oz. This puts it at the low end of the middle of the pack of banana flavors for me.

Overall, I would consider this far and away the best of the bunch from the bpi samples. While not overwhelmingly great, it is sufficient and drinkable. For a good deal, I would consider picking some of this up but would not go out of my way or overpay for it.

Thank you to Thefugivitve and BPI for allowing me to trial all of these flavors. Unfortunately they just didn't do it for me based on the very weak flavoring and underwhelming overall taste.

AntM Reviews BPI Best Protein Vanilla Swirl

The aroma was a light vanilla. However, when I tried it for my first tasting, I had the same experience as the others in this thread concerning the Vanilla Swirl. It was almost flavorless. I love vanilla, it is my favorite generic flavor, but this would be at the very bottom of all the vanilla protein powders I have tried. Very disappointed overall with this flavor and the line as a whole. Out of the BPI flavors, I would go

vanilla cookie>banana>vanilla swirl>chocolate fudge. I am trying the Cutler protein on Thursday, I think.

PES Select, Cellucor Cor Whey, USP Labs Oxyelite and Modern, Dymatize Elite XT, Muscletech Phase 8 (on occasion), AI No Whey!, etc etc... I have like 11 tubs open right now ha. THose are jsu the brands I have sitting at home, not even all the ones I've used over the years.

Thanks for the review

Honestly, I've had zero issues. I would say out of all the protein powders I have tried, which is a lot, almost all taste the same in Greek Yogurt as they do in milk.

Iso HD Banana cream I mixed into 8oz plain greek yogurt, let it 'set up' overnight (tastes much better this way with the protein completely being dissolved, I've found) Best of the flavors so far, light banana with a cream taste. Usually more of a fan of protein blends than a straight up whey isolate, but if a good deal came along, would totally pick this one up.

Agreed with this. Greek yogurt is not so excessively flavorful that it should overpower a good flavored protein.

Got to the Cutler protein today...amazing

AntM Reviews Cutler Total Protein Chocolate Brownie

Out of all of the samples I got from BPI, this was by far the best. And that is coming from a person not that fond of chocolate. This powder reminded me of a fresh fudge brownie. The taste was very rich and did not have that generic, boring milk chocolate flavor. I could see myself suing that flavor and not really get sick of it. If you are looking for a dark tasting chocolate protein, look no further. It is extremely thick too, which I liked.

Some you mentioned have stronger flavoring due to being sweeter. All BPI protein powders are meant to be mixed in 6 to 8 ounces of water. I'll get you a few more out so you can double scoop in 12oz of fluid

Thanks brother. Have you tried Smores or Banana Cream Total Protein?

I had that choc cutler sample last night and, lol didn't care for it at all, nearly as much as the vanilla Cutler. Really dig the banana and strawberry flavors though which I've taken advantage of those BOGO offers when they've come around, any chance the BPI proteins will ever see that deal, Fug?

Finally finished up my remaining two, will have impressions up as soon as I can get to a comp

Whey-HD is currently Buy 1 Get 1 50% off. Let me see what going on for the 4th of July

Alrighty, got my last two sample packs down.

Cutler Choc Brownie - As with all I mixed in with my usual smoothie. No clumpiness, mixed just perfectly. Was not a huge fan of the taste of this one, the BPI chocolate brownie was much better IMHO. I was expecting more flavor out of it but not much there unfortunately

BPI Vanilla Cookie- This one mixed perfectly as well. This one definitely had that vanilla flavor that I like. It wasn't overpowering but there enough to really improve the flavor of the smoothie, it complemented it very well.

Thanks again for letting me try all these out! May pick some up if you guys get a good 4th of July sale!

have been bodybuilding for 1 1/2 yrs now. huge fat loss. have tried several major brands of protein. if chosen, would definitely give a honest review.

Mixability - A little foaming, some of it did not go away. 9/10

Profile - It is GMS, caffeine, yohimbine and some other stuff. Nice and simple. It is a prop blend, so it is unknown the doses of each ingredient..8/10

Energy - Very good. I had the whole packet, which is two scoops. It was clean with no crash. My past experience with yohimbine has been a rapid heart rate, shakiness, and anxiety. I did not suffer that and I took it on an empty stomach in a fasted state.10/10

Pump - Nothing out of the ordinary, but it was a lower rep day and I reaggervated an injury so I could not focus on that. 7/10

Focus - Before I reaggervated my injury, focus was on point. Not tunnel vision like, but close. 9/10

Taste - I had the Snow Cone flavor. I had it in just over 8 ounces of water. It was very sweet, this could be resolved with more water. The taste was on point though. The sweetness did not remind me of a snow cone. At least the snow cones I have had have never been that sweet. It reminded more of a firecracker Popsicle, at least I think that is what they're called. It was tasting, no complaints, except for the sweetness.9/10

Overall - Awesome tasting pre workout with nice clean energy and solid focus. Pumps could have been better, but I did use lower reps today. I would caution people that do not respond to yohimbine though. Due to the prop blend, we do not know how much is in a single scoop. It can be guesstimated by looking at the label, but still, tread carefully. 9/10

Once again thank you very much to BPI and they're great rep TheFugitive. I received 3 sample packets of 1MR Vortex. Now in the past I've not like 1MR at all as it upsets my stomach, but Vortex is a different story altogether.

Flavor 10/10
Received 1 Watermelon and 2 Snow Cone. Hard to kick favorites as BPI has truly outdone itself with flavoring here, but may have to give the crown to snow cone.

Mixability 9/10
Mixed quite well in my cyclone cup with only 8 oz of cold water and a full sample pack (2 servings in 1 packet).

Pump 4/10
Had a slight pump, but not what I usually get with my staple PWO.

Energy 8/10
Here's where Vortex excelled for me. I of course stated I was taking 2 servings at a time as I'm used to 25g clinically dosed school pwo. But Vortex with I believe it was 400mg of caffeine in 2 servings was just right (my usual gives me 350mg in 1 scoop). The energy was smooth coming on and sliding off with no crash.

Overall 8/10
Pretty good started pwo if not a Stim junkie like myself and don't need 8g or more of Citrulline. But maybe can become my fallback pwo when I need just an extra kick intra. Wish I could've had a full tub to really give a much more informed review. Nonetheless, well done BPI.

Thanks to TheFugitive for sending me out some BPI samples. I tried Best Protein Chocolate Brownie and Vanilla Swirl. I really loved both to be quite honest. I mixed them each in cold water as I believe that's a better test for the validity of a protein (any protein can be mixed in milk). They each mixed extremely well in just 8 oz of cold water. As for flavoring it was not too strong at all. The chocolate brownie my wife and daughter each took a sip as we're actually looking for a new position for my wife and I. They both loved it and were surprised it was mixed with water and not my usual Fairlife milk so that says a lot my opinion. Vanilla Swirl tasted phenomenal as well and after taking one sip I thought I'd try it with one scoop of my powdered PB too and just wow! All I can say is mixability, protein amount in each serving, flavor and all is amazing in this Best Protein. So much so that I literally just ordered 2 jars from Bodybuilding. Thanks again BPI and most importantly TheFugitive for the chance to sample and review.
