$4.19 here right now. But let's be honest, there's very little that US controls when it comes to gas prices in situations like this, aside from releasing from the oil reserves. It's all about global supply/demand, OPEC and other major oil exporters (like Russia) decisions, and state taxes when it comes to what the consumer feels at the pump.

Here's a map I found on state tax variability on gas prices:

Lucky for me PA has one of the highest taxes...
 
I paid $67 yesterday to fill up my Tacoma $4.19 a gallon (in PA)
 
Was $3.39 2 weeks ago and is $4.09 here today.
If I go over the border in Ohio it's $3.79 which is a 20-minute drive.

Gas prices are just outright insane.

what difference to environment does it make if we consume russian or American oil?

Somehow this does not surprise me at all with everything else that's happened the past few years!
 
Morning AM, had a productive weekend. Got the three sites completed on Saturday, and lawncare Sunday and yesterday after 10 hour day shift.

Looks like some good conversations going on in here the last few days.

This will be the first time in 7 years that I will HAVE to increase my prices. Ive always been able to keep my prices very competitive because I do have a day job and my wife has a dayjob along with a commercial and residential cleaning service.

Pretty sad but it is what is. Everyone and everything else is increasing on me. Fuel, parts, equipment, shipping, insurance, uniforms.....everything across the board.

Not going to dwell on it, if the customer has an issue with it than they are more than available to shop around.


Anyways, no training today. Pretty sore from manual labor the last few days. Plan on a 3am session tomorrow. I need some sleep.

I spent half of the day yesterday increasing prices in the computer due to supplier increases !!
 
Yeah if you don't raise prices with the inflation you will be losing money faster than you can make it.
 
gas went up a quarter overnight...everything goes by truck, can't think of much that doesn't...anyone who thinks that increases in gas won't effect prices of everything else..well they aren't very bright.

fortunately winter has been mild here and looks like warmer weather is the norm except for the occassional cold front that goes thru--i know several older people who have been severely hurt by higher heating costs--my son in law and i have helped them by giving some of out harvested meat and fish--giving will definitely warm you up, i highly recommend it....kids, dogs and older people are high on our list...btw-donating money is always good, but i recommend getting out and having a personal touch with people-especially the elderly who don't have a lot of personal interaction.

No need for an apology 🇺🇸

I basically have the mindset at this point, if my customers can't accept and agree to my increases....well it is what it is and it was nice doing business with you.

Most of my customers im confident will be on board. I have a long term personal relationship with most of my customers and I'd say we do really good work also.

Again, so may not to be able to afford it financially and I understand that.

I guess what im trying to get at is...if I get a response across the lines of "your crazy there is no need for a price increase " well those will be the ones I will not hesitate to walk away from. All of my commercial contracts haven't put up any argument. They are all for the increase

I haven't had any customers complain about price increases. They have been constantly going up since 2021, Labor cost, Inflation and now fuel prices.
Booked a load 2 weeks ago to the same location with the same guy. went from $2,700 to $3,100 (best deal I could find)!
We went from exporting oil to begging country's that hate us to sell us more.
Hopefully we can get through 2 more years with these clowns running the show.

Look for fuel prices to steadily rise until November. Diesel today 5.25$.

My truck drivers are spending 250-500$ a day just to come to work. They aren't going to make it to much longer with haul rate increases.

Were is all the infrastructure money?

I live 25-30 minutes south of DC. When these infrastructure bills get passed we usually see it right away.

Don't get me wrong work is through the roof right now for March, but we need to gwt the money to these independent truckers somehow.

My union rep is actually the president of our local 77. He had to go take a pic qith the president when the bill passed.

I asked him to relay a few messages for me but he didn't like that idea.

Yes sir, lots of protein and up until the lil wrist issue i was moving heavier weights.

Since the wrist i will be honest with you all, I lost a lil drive and stopped tracking nutrition. Didn't necessarily throw the nutrition out the window but definitely not on point.

I've pretty much nailed my maetinaince down to 3300 cals. Lots of food but good choices. Timing is crucial for me also.

Hopefully when this weather changes I can shed a few pounds, nothing crazy but a few more.

I believe the lightest i ever got in this log was 192. I really like 205!!!! I could do it but just have to buckle down on nutrition and track bg levels.

At the moment I know mentally I'm not there for all that. Better to be honest with myself instead of doing something im not mentally ready for. Also, ive packed on this beef with just staples. No gimmicky natural anabolics. 🤦

We grow through what we go through 🇺🇸
