Body fat and AAS

Ive been reading endless amounts and a common theme is not to run AAS unless you are near 15% or under. I'm just curious why this?

Is it for the simple fact that you should be training for a decent length of time and go past your natural peek before using AAS which in turn would put you in that condition or is it an actualy chemical/physiological reason with natural test production of some sort?

Before that gets answered matters well throw out...what are the pro's and cons of running AAS at a higher BF% as well as the moderate to lower BF%?

Just trying to educate myself here thanks...

That applies when you're bulking and you take a much higher caloric intake than normal to stimulate muscle mass growth. Usually when the diet is not pre calculated and clean. So, a guy weighing say 200 pounds starts doing some mild test and deca cyle and decides to eat 5000 calories/day and doesn't pay serious attention to macros. You'll see some fat gain.

Another factor is that the roids seem to work better when you have a lower bf%. Science or not. Fact is, you look bigger on roids when fat % are lower. So, it might be speculative.

Best thing is to grow as much as possible natrually, till you hit your genetic peak, but not many are putting in the hard work to do that. This is also something which is debatable as we take for expample Arnold, who started at a very young age using AAS.

they are lipophylic meaning the more fat you have the more its absorbed there i believe thus making the cycle less effective the heavier you are, Plus the more body fat the more chance of cardiovascular problems with LDL increasing HDL plumetting and BP skyrocketing..

if you're a bit on the heavy side or as some will say, a "fat-ass" you really have no business taking AAS cause you most likly don't know wtf you are doing with you're diet or training anyway

Another major factor in this theory would definitely be that if you ever plan on getting cut up, you're going to be losing some of that hard earned muscle mass while dropping the bodyfat. Best plan would be to get cut, then run a clean bulk cycle to optimize gains, IMO.

Thanks for the replies ya'll.

Non scientific aside (looking bigger) at what point would ones body fat be to great to get good results from a cycle? What I mean is if you dont care about looking "bigger" during cycle because you can always cut afterwards would you do a cycle at 15%? 20% 25% 30%? At what point does the lypophylic theory come into play and make it not worth the cycle?

lennoxchi - not sure if that was general or aimed at me but I am far from a fat-ass thanks...although I am the highest BF I have been in 5 years its still well below the national average (15%)

Again thanks for all the info its just what I'm looking for!

Note, when you cut you will lose muscle mass as well, it's just part of the game. I suggest getting cut (a low BF) and then bulking, makes much more sense.

Try to get around the 10-12 % mark, preferrably at the 10% end. And do a test/deca cycle. You'll be very pleased with the results. Mildly dosed and with the support of a good diet.

Thanks for the quick replies again guys.

Im still working on my cycle I'll post it once I have most of it down for you guys to critique...Im working on getting down to 10%...man i hate cutting LOL
