Blood pressure not going down after cycle

so i was on epistane for 2 and a half weeks and my bp skyrockted up to 165/79. So i stopped because it got too high but since then (which was about a month and a half ago) my bp has only dropped to 145/80. Does is usually take a long time for it to go down or what?

i dont think it was.... i should have checked before hand. last time they checked my bp at the hospital after my cycle i had to run in to the doctors cuz i was late and they just rushed me in and and didnt let me rest and they were asking me questions at the same time and i was nervous because i had just gotten off my cycle a month before. do you think i should get it checked again.

Lol

i told this story before but i was in walmart one time and their machine say its for a 13 in or smaller circumference and i was trying to force my arm into it with my body weight. the pharmacist saw that sh1t and ask me to leave the store. lmao. true story.

What supporting supps were you using on cycle? You could pick up some Celery Seed Extract cheap and that should help

Blockade, multis, fish oils, and taurine. And i went and got a automatic cuff and it said my bp was134/78 so it's still a little high

I've had moderate high bp for 12 years. They had me on 10mg of lisinopril ed. **** made me feel horrible. Dr finally told me to take 3grams of omega 3 ed. Bp came down to around 125/80 on average within a few weeks. Been doing that for 5 years now and haven't had any problems.

Aren't these pretty dangerous?

You're asking about whether bp meds are dangerous on a thread about steroids? Cmon dude. How many ppl take bp meds in this country, like 50-100 million? Yes you should dose them intelligently but that's true for everything. The doses I mentioned earlier will almost certainly be safe.

Wow that's crazy. I will start doing that and hopefully mine will come down

5mg of lisinopril worked ok for me but I hated the ****. 10 made me feel like a zombie. All I wanted to do was sleep.

Interesting, it's not usually a common side effect. 12.5 mg of metoprolol or 25 mg of chlorithalidone might be a valid alternative.

Nice side effect of chlorithalidone is it's a diuretic so you'll cut water weight.

Yeah pretty much. Blood pressure meds, statins, etc samples are generally handed out like candy. The only things that aren't are opioids and Viagra/cialis/Levitra.

Lisinopril takes a few days to kick in. For me it was about a week. Then I hates every second of it. But it did lower my bp substantially.

That's not a very common side effect. Most common is cough; get your dr to try losartan. If you have hbp it's unlikely omega 3s will control it.

It's been working for me for years now. Eat and train the same as before. Just prior to trying omega 3 I had high bp. Not saying it's a miracle. Could be the change from a crazy wife to a not crazy woman.

I may have just reacted strangely to it. But the first week I didn't feel anything. Then all at once I was drained and felt lethargic and miserable. Like my bp was way too low.

RH,

You may want to try to get smaller lisinopril tabs, or take half of one. 15 mg is a pretty big dose and could bottom you out pretty good.

As far as overdosing ppl on blood pressure meds, that's partially laziness and time constraints, and partially quality measures, especially in a managed care environment. Standard of care would be to increase dose or add additional meds if patients aren't responding. However, the main reason patients aren't lowering their bp is non-compliance. Obv the meds won't work if you don't take them. It's super common for someone to have crazy high bp and come into the Hosp, be put on their home regimen and bottom out their bp bc they haven't been taking the meds.

oh yeah. i only take a little just when i need it. most docs overdose people on it. my dad and grandmother are on it. they say the same thing. tired and dizzy all the time. i've seen my dad black out from it. hell every time my grandmother goes to the doctor, they try and up her dose and here bp at home is very low. she just doesn't take the increase when they prescribe it. it may be up in the docs office because she's been waiting for 2 hrs lol.
dont get me wrong, i dont go to doctors. i always treat myself. anybody that runs to the doctor all of the time or says go to the doctor about everything, obviously hasn't had any real dealings with them. i'm gonna have to be totally f*cked before i ever go see another one. i have an uncle that lived to be 90 something and he never went to a doctor in his whole life.

idk how big your arm is but get the wrist one. my mother bought one of the regular ones and it lacks about 4 inches from lining up on the line where the directions say its supposed to be placed. cant be very accurate like that. idk

Definitely get a wrist one, I've got two of the extra large cuffs, and they barely even fit on my forearm. As far as your BP issues, try taking hawthorn berry or nitrates. KNO3 has potassium nitrate, which should help you out.

Honestly I'd try to get legit bp meds over using nitrates; they are notorious for causing headaches and def don't take them if you take anything for ED.

They're also much less effective bp meds; the pharmokinetics aren't good.

Yeah be careful! Relatively young ppl can actually tolerate very high bps (I've seen ppl with BPs in the 260s that were just chilling like nothing was wrong) but can turn bad in a second in the wrong setting.

I've seen a few bad cases of young ppl with strokes and heart attacks but most of them involved meth or cocaine. Did see a girl who died from probable DNP overdose but she was using meth too so who knows.
