Best diet for energy

I am looking for the best diet for energy. Paleo, warrior, zone, etc. I have done the 5-6 meals a day for years but now my focus is on energy first, muscular developement second. Any input would be great. Also I switched myself and family over to almost all organic foods about a year ago. I am curious on peoples opinions on the subject. Thanks much!

Whatever diet allows you to eat 5+ whole eggs in the morning. I literally get a high from that.

I am nervous about taking over 2 yolks a day with all the cholesterol. I know many people on this site say it has nothing to do with levels but I still am unsure about that. I def will read more on the subject. Ten whites a day is a staple for me though(1-2 yolks). Thanks for your input.

I just had 12 eggs/a whole carton this morning for the 1 out of 2 meals. Eggs our natural, nature is instinctively designed, the cholesterol had good and bad properties to cancel each other out. The only side effect I would say I had been a slight acidic stomach but that can also be attributed to my keto diet I am currently on. btw the eggs were organic -- I had eaten an ounce of straight butter one time organic and one time not organic -- the organic time, no problem; the non-organic time, I had heart pain haha, just like the time I ate a full stick of sorpressatta

I forgot to mention, I would be careful of eating tons and tons of cheap eggs (tons meaning 8+). Eight is just a guestimate. But cheap eggs generally have a really poor omega 3: omega 6 ratio. One of the really great benefits of organic or at least free range chickens is that they are a good omega-3 source. At any rate, dietary cholesterol only makes up up to around 15% of your serum cholesterol level.

EDIT: how cholesterol works in you is a rather complex issue to explain out in a single post, but basically you're safe to eat all the egg yolks you want (though know they're pretty calorie dense, that's about the only issue you could have).

In my opinion, if you want to get energy then you should eat vegetables like.spinach, salad greens and others . you should eat fruits daily in the morning because fruits have lot of vitamins that give the energy to our body. You should drink fresh fruit juice daily in the morning. It will keep you energetic and attentive. This is healthy diet,.

Only thing i don't understand is with the blood sugar.
Couple meals have cantolope which is high on gi scale more then banannas??

I'd bump up your fats and keep your carbs moderate. Something like a 40/40/20 plan. 40% carbs 40% fats and 20% protein.

Hi jontrainer,
This is what I am taking as energy diet, you can also have it if you like my diet plan
Breakfast
Shredded wheat cereal with skimmed milk and 1 banana
peanut butter with
1 slice whole-wheat toast
Lunch
Grilled chicken sandwich with whole-grain bread
1 cup sliced tomatoes

1 orange

1 cup skim milk
Dinner
3 ounces chicken with baked rice
1 cup dark greens toss with low fat dressing

2 plums
1 cup skim milk

That diet above is equivalent to 1 of my 4 meals a day I would be lethargic on it. I always kickstart with 2 or 3 cups of oats 70grams protein powder shake in 1 litre of milk a banana or 2 and a cup of blueberries this has me active for hours. Not hungry in the mornings so don't feel like anything savoury.

thanks for the diet tips guys! I love this website! I am back to 5 meals a day semi zone style. I also am trying to not just rely on diet alone. My sleep, stress levels, and workouts are also improving so I have been feeling pretty good. Sometimes I work with to low of a rep range and wait too long between sets.

You seriously make it through the day on that? That can't be much more than 1500 calories. I sometimes eat more than that for breakfast alone.

look into adding extra b-12 , ALCAR , VitD in you diet. and i rec 4-6 small meals a day. not 2-3 big ones.

I think he ment it as a breakfest..
if so then not bad. if whole day then WAY to low.

i ran warrior diet for about 6 weeks. I grazed about 600 cals through the day and around 1200 at my night feeding. My night feeding(most of the time) was: a dozen egg whites(2 yolks), 2 cups oats, big salad with olive oil dressing), maybe a glass of wine. To my suprise I maintained my gains from previously eating about 2700 cals a day. Not sure if that would of been the case long term though. I remember someone on here once mentioned that it is not the amount of calories you take in but the anabolic effect the cals have on your body. Eggs seem to work best for me. Maybe because that little spermy white thing attached to the yolk !!
