best actors

Only good answer so far has been Ed Norton. Will Smith is OK, the rest are nothing special, maybe Dinero, but he only plays 1 character. You gotta think about guys like John Malkovich, Tom Hanks, Anthony Hopkins, Paul Newman, Willem Defoe etc.

Gonna have to go With Heath Ledger, and i like Mat Damon for his acting.

Sean Connery f*ck yeah....

Also, Thomas Jane for the 2004 Punisher...

and Bruce Willis...

Ill take a little Alba Love as well :D

Angelina Joli.. cause well... look at her...

Sidney Portier, Sean Penn, Denzel Washington, James Dean, Marlon Brando, Zero Mostel, Richard Widmark, Frank Sinatra, George Clooney, James Cagney, Clark Gable. I could go on and on with this.

The best actor is in your eye of beholding, there are tons of great actors.

:bruce3:

WOW... can't belive nobody's said Gary Oldman yet, every character he plays is so different it's like he has multiple personalities.

Don Cheadle, Lawrence Fishburne, Jack Nicholson, Dennis Hopper, Jeffrey Wright, etc. The list could keep going and going. These were just a few off the top of the dome.
A little off-topic but I just saw Tropic Thunder and it was GREAT! Tom Cruise did a GREAT job in it!

robert downey jr. to me is also a good actor!

Downey Jr., Heath, Norton, Vince Vaughn, Brad Pitt, Depp, I am a big movie buff so I could go on for days.

For what it's worth, I think Christian Bale is not as good of an actor. Especially how much praise he gets. I don't think he has really done anything notable since American Psycho.

Yes! Gay Perry! He was great in that. I like the line he said when the credits were rolling? "You wanna know who the best-boy grip is? Somebody's nephew." This is sooooo true!

HAHA! I thought the end part was the best when he shuts off the camera... **** now i gotta rent it again.

Gay Perry- "If you look up the word Stupid in the dictionary you know what you find"

RDJ- "A picture of me?"

Gay Perry- "NO! The definition of STUPID, which is what you are!"

Norton, DiCaprio

Man, I knew I was forgetting someone. That is a guy who's paid his dues in the acting world. Man, from "This Boy's Life" to "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" to "Gangs of New York." He's versatile and just plain great.

I think that depends on the genre

Comedy: Jim carrey/Robin Williams.

Drama: Charlton heston/Jimmy Stewart.

Action: Arnold (No question).

Horror: Boris Karloff/Bela Lugosi.

Heath Ledger? Come on now, he was good in Dark Knight, but just because youre dead doesnt make you great. Leonardo Dicaprio? Jesus ****ing Christ....

Quickly becoming gold,. Hugh Jackman! Ewan McGregor is top notch also!!!

Well, I must say. Dicaprio is one of my younger favs.

1. Al Pacino
2. Robert Dinero
3. Robert Duvall
4. Mel Gibson
5. Denzel Washington
6. Will Smith
7. Adam Sandler (click really made him for me. a serious movie but also can be a funny character. great versatility there.)
8. Tom Hanks
9. Sam Elliot
10. Pierce Brosnan (I know I know, but the Matadore is one of my favs.)

Don't just spout it. State why.:nutkick: I mean, I can see the Ledger comment. And heck, I can see what you mean about Dicaprio now, too. But I was biased as hell, cause "Gangs of New York" is in my top five movies. And just cause he's in it, I put him in the upper echelon, but you're right I think. You seen more than "The Departed" though?

"This Boy's Life"
"Basketball Diaries"
"What's Eating Gilbert Grape"
"Catch Me If You Can"
"Gangs of New York"

Oh shoot, since we're talking about blond prettyboys here in the acting world, I even forgot to mention Brad Pitt.
Holy hell has he done a lot, and he did it well. Now this one, I ain't just spoutin' off on. Dude's good. That's why his hair is turning white now, yet he's still gettin' all the attention.

"The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford"
"Snatch"
"Fight Club"
"Seven Years In Tibet"
"Legends of the Fall"
"Interview With the Vampire"
"A River Runs Through It"
"Seven"

I agree with Brad Pitt,.. I was afraid of being blasted,.. but since you said so,..and you backed it with titles!!!

I disagree about Leo. I think he's a fine actor. After seeing Boogie Nights (which I LOVED) I also would have to throw Mark Walberg in there, as well, although he has made quite a few stinkers.
As for Fear and Loathing,..LOVED it! My only gripe with Depp's portrayal of Thompson was that in the book, Thompson was more in control of his lawyer and situations, in general. Whereas Depp's character was not.
And I also agree that Pitt has a reputation beyond repute at this point. There are a lot of good "movie stars" on these lists but very few good actors. <Cough> Clooney <Cough> I also find it a little funny that no one ever mentions any female actors. Not just you guys but anytime thee's a polling like this..

Meryl Streep Phillip Seymour Hoffman John C. Reilly

How could we forget McQueen? The Man from Rio, muh-fuggaz!

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to bslick69b again.
