i'm fairly certain this has been posted here before but never hurts to have it up again

Done. Reminds me of a story. Every year around Thanksgiving I get a letter from our local homeless shelter requesting a donation to feed people less fortunate than ourselves. I try to send a check. A few years ago I sent $20, (the most I've ever sent). On Thanksgiving morning I went to the woods with a friend for an early morning hunt, as we were having family come to our house around 2pm. Around 7am I heard something coming down a trail that passes within 2o yards of my treestand. A nice size hog comes out, and I drop it. I climbed down and draged it over to the palmettos by my stand. It was still early, so I got back up in the tree and started to read wanting to give my friend a chance at seeing something. Thirty minutes passed, and I heard something coming down the same trail. A nice size deer stepped out inot the opening and again, I fired, droping it. I got down and stood there looking at my bounty, and I could only think that the Lord provided for me because I provided for others. It was the best feeling I'd ever had in the woods.

Not trying to steal your thread Glen, it just made me think about a special time.
 
Just wanted to bump this. It looks like it actually is legit.

Anthea Webb of the United Nations' World Food Program confirmed that it does indeed receive donations via the Hunger Site and labeled the project "innovative." According to Webb, "Cash donations equivalent to more than a million servings of food have been donated since the site opened in June 1999."


Even the website Urban Ledgends couldn't find a problem with the site.

I work in a computer lab at a university, so every break I get I go and visit the site from different comps. I wish the university would let me image it to the desktop. :type:

It's difficult to see stuff like that. I got a collect call from my Dad one day last week. He was out of money and didn't have anything to eat.
I didn't get the voicemail till late as I had left my cell at my apartment and had went to the gym after work.
I had to express money the next day because I dodn't know how to get ahold of him by phone to tell him to go to a store with a WU. I still don't know if he got it - I assume so.
But he would have went a day or so with only lunch from the Salvation Army.

So, I clicked - several times.

All joking aside... that's the key right there. The sponsors won't renew if they are not getting click-threws. They watch and see how many people are clicking on those specific advertisements.

So simply put... after you click on donate.. clicking on the sponsor will be just as beneficially.
