Hey,

I've just register here on AM's, but there is not an option to upload my avatar (only show the selection for "no avatar"). Is there a time period I must wait, or does an admin need to see the new registration & then active the option.

Tx

I am unable (incapable) of uploading an image as well... and I have been here a while. What gives?

If you had registered before the creation of the Gold Member rule and you had an Avatar, then you get to keep it. However, if like me you did not know this then once you try to change it, delete and re-assign, you loose it.:frustrate :frustrate :frustrate :frustrate :frustrate :frustrate :frustrate :frustrate :frustrate :frustrate :frustrate

I can't remember but I think you need to have had 'x' amount of posts to upload an avatar.
EDIT - Invalid Link Removed
It's not a gold member only thing, I'm going to guess you have to have posted 'x' amount of times to upload one OR the admin has temporarily disabled it for non-payers.

Just pony up and support the board
I might, though this is the first forum/board that I have registered with that required a pay membership to be able to add an avatar....hmmmmmmm?

Well, lets see if I can at least attach a file...here it goes.

Because we had them before the changes occured. If we try to edit them, we will lose the privledge of having them. Suck it up and become a gold member, unless you are broke like me.

There are a lot more benefits than just avatars that come with being a Gold Member. This is becoming the most innovative board on the web. We are sponsored by some of the most innovative supplement developers and retailers as well. The extra features, customize features, private board membership and shout box access are just a small sample of benefits.

The board stability, capacity and membership has increased dramatically as a result of implementing these board privileges. We are the the standard for which other boards follow.

If you are just looking to have a cool avatar...I'll give you one.

Okay Napoleon.:icon_lol:

I have been hedging back and forth on the idea of becoming a gold member. At first upon the announcement of the gold member option I had horrible flashbacks of elitefitness and how it became a pay site only, and suffered from hugely scaled back functionality for those not willing to pay. That seemed a massive money grab on their part.

I imagine a big part of why I haven't become a gold member yet is that my credit cards get a massive workout just supporting my supplement habit (extreme supp. junkie here). Someday I may still join, as there do seem to be quite a few cool benefits to doing so.

For me, I spent a little time thinking about what this site had given me. When I measured how much knowledge I'd gained here, how much money I'd saved by reading people's feedback on products, and the (hard to quantify) health benefits I'd gained, going gold was an easy decision. Everyone should do that analysis for themselves. If this site is a place that adds substantial value to your life, I'd strongly encourage you to go gold.

I just had a few days looking around here and compared it to other bb sites and decided it was good enough to contribute to, besides I'll get way more than $40 worth of info and gold member only stuff. Definately worth investing in if you have the spare cash.

I registered very recently with this site and was able to load an avatar. I wanted to change the background color of it to better match the colors on this site. Did the new art work and tried to load the new (2nd) avatar. It would not load and no explanation. Read the FAQ's, no explanation on why it would not load. Go back to control panel. There is a function labeled [edit avatar], yes that is what I want to do. Still will not load the new one. So I remove the one I had thinking that perhaps that was needed before uploading a replacement. Boom its gone. And I still cannot load a new one.

I would really like an avatar. It seems that the default in the profile for a new user allows one to load an avatar, but you can never make a change other then have none at all.

Really is not a good situation. Please consider allowing me to have an avatar or at least correct your FAQs to save others from this trap.

Chill the hell out. The board went through an upgrade and we are still fixing the bugs.

Stop *****in about a tiny picture. It'll get fixed.

Fixed. Have a ****in ball now.

My trap didn't work.
