Article: Focus On Traps

This article sucks Johnny Wad. No mention of deadlift, snatch or power clean?! Totally worthless. Why do I read this crap?
 
It's from "Men's Fitness" Gents, that should easily explain the lack of mention of the deads and other compound lifts we consider essential.
 
I actually like dork rows-nothing bad in this article actually. I agree deads and high pulls are great for developing traps bit the article was focusing on trap isolation and development.
 
Giant traps really throw off a physique. That's the one muscle group I try to keep from growing too much. Giant traps make your shoulder width look like sh-t, like a pyramid. If you're just going for straight strength, have at it. I go for perfect physique, so I keep trap growth around medium.

I see it differently; traps are the prettiest muscle of all.
 
Shrugs are the perfect starting excersize and ending to your workout. Deads are the perfect middle to ending of your workout. My point shrugs and deads are the perfect workout.
 
A farmers walk is nothing like a shrug lol

Yes they are. You shrug and hold at top for however long you're going to hold on top. It's still a shrug, lol. How do you suppose your get to the top of the motion without shrugging?

Unless I've been doing my farmers walks wrong, lol. Are you supposed to just hold them without shrugging and walk around? Because I've been walking around holding the weights at the top of a shrug :P

What?! I always thought it was just walking with the weights for your forearms. You're supposed to hold a shrug with the weight? I mean that'd be a sick trap workout

I've looked it up for the first time, proper way to do farmers walks, I've basically been doing a variation on it, LoL.

So yup, a normal farmers walk is NOT a shrug, lulz.
