Heard possibility of LA Fitness filing bankruptcy, probably just a way to save money. Heard same about Cheesecake factory.
10 bucks says it will be good old USA “big pharma” companies that eventually come up with the vaccine for the rest of the world. Funny how Dems love to villanize “big pharma” though. Also Bernie likes to talk about how our healthcare system sucks ass so bad, yet our recovery rate for American’s infected by this virus beats most of the countries in the entire world. Dems also claim to be “pro worker”, thus many were against bailing out corporations in this bill, yet they seem to forget the corporations are the very ones who employ the worker they claim they are for! They have a word for it when you separate employers from employees...it is called “UNEMPLOYMENT” which is exactly what would happen if we hadn’t bailed out these companies with this relief bill. And let’s not forget the bail out loans have to be paid back WITH INTEREST so the government will actually make money on that portion of the bill just like the government did with the auto loan bailouts that got paid back. Well I am done “ranting” for the night lol!
I actually agree with you about insulin, and drugs that are needed to sustain life....One of my good friends is the Global President of a major Pharma company.
I still hate most of them. He's in anti-biotics though, and I trust him. It's a matter of trust and greed.
I'm more speaking to Insulin.
When I hear about people rationing their own insulin due to cost, and possibly dying? Sorry. Not excusable.

Yah no offense, but if a vaccine comes out in the next 6 months to a year, I will be god damned if I get it. I’m all for vaccines, I hate antivaxxers, but I’m not guinea pigging a rushed vaccine.

Honestly most republicans I have know hate big pharma as much as most democrats I know.
Dems wanted to save small businesses - not corporations that have spent over 1.4T in stock buybacks since 2014. And here I thought republicans hated government intervention in the free market.
Personally, I think anyone that aligns so staunchly with either side that they can’t agree with anything their opponent says is an absolute moron. If you think that your side has all the right answers and the opposing side has nothing to offer, you are blind and beyond rationality.
I would not be opposed to a list of drugs that the government offered on a sliding scale with the lowest earners receiving for free. even better if government offered tax incentives to lily and others, I believe there are a few companies that offer deep discounts to low income earners? What’s wild is insulin is like $5 in Australia but costs your first born and left kidney here in US. Epipens too.
at this point drugs that treat the virus are much more likely to help, imo….way too many people who are most likely infected who don't know and unaware they are spreading it.I know this question was not directed towards me, and I apologize for the interjection in advance.
"A fast-track vaccine will be tried on people soon but it uses an unproven technology."

If it was to be rushed I believe is the keyword that popped out to me.
If it were to take 18 months, that's probably a much different picture, but we know how this may play out. This is a valid concern on his part, and I share it.
"What’s more, despite the fast start, any vaccine needs to prove that it’s safe and that it protects people from infection. Those steps are what lock in the inconvenient 18-month time line Fauci cited. While a safety test might take only three months, the vaccine would then need to be given to hundreds or thousands of people at the core of an outbreak to see if recipients are protected. That could take a year no matter what technology is employed."
'world health organization chief's questionable past comes into focus'....
actually the article was more about his connection to the Chinese government than vaccine.WHO is bonkers untrustworthy. Given their past with SARS in 2008 (or when was it) and the connections to big pharma ... are you insuing you wouldn't want to use the vaccine b/c you are scared of unwanted (planed by WHO) side effects? If not, otherwise all you got to lose is that the vaccine simply just wont work and you'll maybe catch covid19 ... which you'll either get over not even noticing you had it or maybe you'll get some fever and aches. So not really much to lose.
it doesn't change the fact that the chief of 'who' is very questionable. do some research, there is a lot of info about him.Let's not be so hasty to pat the CDC on the back, and slap the WHO.
My wife happens to hold a different point of view entirely regarding the WHO than you and she's quite vocal, and in healthcare. I'm not even close, and will not share an opinion.

my prediction is that mexico is about to get slammed by covid 19....according to their health officials they are totally unprepared.

Hell yeah..that ehit sounds bommmbbbCheesecake Factory....I could go for that spicy cashew chicken right tf now !! (Pumpernickel bread first of course!)
There are alot of those places that have been ready to go but this will be the nail in the coffin, SEARS, JCP, Marshall's, dumps but hearing this will be the end now.
Still just 3 positive COVIDS in my intensive care unit...all men. One is planned to be sent home to self quarantine on Monday, after his last dose of hydroxychloroquin. I believe they are all receiving that for for 5 days.Good article about why forecasts are lately being revised down.

Meanwhile death toll keeps rising fast. Still doubling about every 4 days. That's gotta mean a horrible rush on limited hospital beds/people/equipment. I hope we don;t ever reach THAT breaking point! Really appreciate the @Ricky10 updates from the front lines!
"dEmOcRaT hOaX"^ah cool, so its no worse than any other flu variant

My other guy is kind of circling the drain, requiring 40-50% oxygen via a high flow nasal cannula (super nasal cannula in layman’s terms). While he looks reasonably OK, he has bilateral lung infiltrates and I wouldn’t be shocked if I walk in tomorrow morning to find find him on a ventilator. He’s a very nice guy and VERY scared...I try to keep him thinking positive. He has been coughing up blood which is obviously scary for him. He told me that if he gets over this, he is going to make sure none of his family travels anywhere, and that he is going to isolate himself in a desert until the virus is history. Those were his words, and we laughed together a little bit.
Today was day 2 for my vented patient, also with bilateral infiltrates and his lungs are in pretty bad shape. He has to stay very sedated for us to be able to ventilate him appropriately, and may ultimately end up requiring paralytics so we can take full control. The mortality rate once things progress to mechanical ventilation for COVID-19 patients is 80%- this is directly from my pulmonologists. I am going to have to dig deeper than usual into my bag of tricks if I am to keep this guy out of that 80% bracket.
I can’t imagine when I start getting more vented COVIDS- they are very sick and require a great deal of ventilator manipulation/management. While all 3 patients have comorbidities, none of those are significantly active problems at this time- they all got to this point from COVID-19 itself.

As far as Dems broadcasting the daily death count (with glee) whenever a republican is in charge, you might recall the Gulf War.
lol...you should talk, you are the most anti-trump person on this forum-I have never once saw you post anything positive about trump or his policies---you should be praising trumps decision to stop flights from china when your damned democrats were against it!!!!What the hell? Are you saying people are doing this with 'glee'?
That's kind of sick. I'd call it a call for support. A loud call for the need that isn't being fulfilled.
Don't 'what about -- Gulf War' this.
What about Nixon and Viet Nam, prolonging the war so he could be re-elected. Much closer to our reality.
Let's just choose to not go there anymore. Let's live where we are. Here--Now.
Shame on you.
I keep seeing people that are literally 200lbs overweight walking around with masks and gloves on. I keep thinking to myself, that mask is not going to save your healthHonestly fellas, if you have family members who are obese they need to be staying away from this thing. Front line medics here in the UK are seeing more and more people being ventilated (and still not looking good) with obesity as the only underlying health factor. These are 30, 40, 50 year olds as well!!
We have an obesity problem but we do sit behind the USA in percentage terms I believe. You could have a real problem on you hands over there.
keep your loved ones safe.
Side Bar: In February, we (The USA) gave China almost 18 tons of medical supplies. Trump knew about Covid-19 in Dec., so I ask all of you, where is the assistance to the states when his heinous is saying he's not the "supply chain / clerk"... If you don't praise him, you don't get assistance. Apparently Florida is getting all they order, but not so much for other "Blue" States. Disucss.

I'm not pro or anti Trump or any political figure for that matter. Im a firm believer that the president is a talking puppet and no matter who is "in charge" they don't mean much. I think it's foolish to attack or praise 1 person. I think there's way too many people involved in a final decision.lol...you should talk, you are the most anti-trump person on this forum-I have never once saw you post anything positive about trump or his policies---you should be praising trumps decision to stop flights from china when your damned democrats were against it!!!!

I'm sure il be attacked for this but it's why I stopped voting, my logic is I don't care who gets elected so I don't want my vote to tip the scales away from the people who really care about who the president is.

I am a veteran who narrowly missed the draft for Vietnam, I was among the 1st to enlist in the volunteer armed forces. I was fortunate to serve under peacetime and I have the highest respect for those who did serve during wartime....I support out troops and veterans, I support police and 1st responders, I stand for pledge of allegiance, I stand in honor of our flag. I enlisted for my country and I put AMERICANS 1st-always have, always will....I am proud to be a AMERICAN, I Iove AMERICA.My comments not directed at thebigt, I just quoted you because your statement made me think of what I said

I’ll make a bet now that in 4 weeks the talk of politics will have ceased for you guys. Republicans and Democrats will be working together, casting aside party loyalties like a robe at a brothel.
the only debate will be what is the best way to save lives.
the only divide will be between the younger (16-24 yr old) and the rest as the younger groups feel the virus doesn’t affect them and they are more likely to flaunt the rules, everyone else who gives a **** about people will adhere (you’ll be in full lockdown by then).
just an educated guess
I will take that bet given the youngsters are almost entirely socialists who seem to be at odds with those who are most affected by this virus-boomers and older....I saw a post where a youngster recommended those who are infected in the younger age group infect as many older folks as they could, and received a whole lot of likes.I’ll make a bet now that in 4 weeks the talk of politics will have ceased for you guys.
