Yah no offense, but if a vaccine comes out in the next 6 months to a year, I will be god damned if I get it. I’m all for vaccines, I hate antivaxxers, but I’m not guinea pigging a rushed vaccine.
Honestly most republicans I have know hate big pharma as much as most democrats I know.
Dems wanted to save small businesses - not corporations that have spent over 1.4T in stock buybacks since 2014. And here I thought republicans hated government intervention in the free market.
Personally, I think anyone that aligns so staunchly with either side that they can’t agree with anything their opponent says is an absolute moron. If you think that your side has all the right answers and the opposing side has nothing to offer, you are blind and beyond rationality.

One of my good friends is the Global President of a major Pharma company.

I would not be opposed to a list of drugs that the government offered on a sliding scale with the lowest earners receiving for free. even better if government offered tax incentives to lily and others, I believe there are a few companies that offer deep discounts to low income earners?

at this point drugs that treat the virus are much more likely to help, imo….way too many people who are most likely infected who don't know and unaware they are spreading it.
vaccine would be very useful if this becomes a yearly event.

Given their past with SARS in 2008 (or when was it) and the connections to big pharma ... are you insuing you wouldn't want to use the vaccine b/c you are scared of unwanted (planed by WHO) side effects? If not, otherwise all you got to lose is that the vaccine simply just wont work and you'll maybe catch covid19 ... which you'll either get over not even noticing you had it or maybe you'll get some fever and aches. So not really much to lose.

of the 260 who died in the last 24 hours from covid19 in the UK, 13 were fit and healthy adults with no underlying health conditions.
there is no question that elderly and/or those with underlying health conditions are more likely to be fatally affected but no one should believe that we (fit and healthy adults) will definitely recover.
the risk may be low but it’s still there.

Still just 3 positive COVIDS in my intensive care unit...all men. One is planned to be sent home to self quarantine on Monday, after his last dose of hydroxychloroquin. I believe they are all receiving that for for 5 days.
My other guy is kind of circling the drain, requiring 40-50% oxygen via a high flow nasal cannula (super nasal cannula in layman’s terms). While he looks reasonably OK, he has bilateral lung infiltrates and I wouldn’t be shocked if I walk in tomorrow morning to find find him on a ventilator. He’s a very nice guy and VERY scared...I try to keep him thinking positive. He has been coughing up blood which is obviously scary for him. He told me that if he gets over this, he is going to make sure none of his family travels anywhere, and that he is going to isolate himself in a desert until the virus is history. Those were his words, and we laughed together a little bit.
Today was day 2 for my vented patient, also with bilateral infiltrates and his lungs are in pretty bad shape. He has to stay very sedated for us to be able to ventilate him appropriately, and may ultimately end up requiring paralytics so we can take full control. The mortality rate once things progress to mechanical ventilation for COVID-19 patients is 80%- this is directly from my pulmonologists. I am going to have to dig deeper than usual into my bag of tricks if I am to keep this guy out of that 80% bracket.
I can’t imagine when I start getting more vented COVIDS- they are very sick and require a great deal of ventilator manipulation/management. While all 3 patients have comorbidities, none of those are significantly active problems at this time- they all got to this point from COVID-19 itself.

Not saying it is malicious, it may actually be beneficial, but basic economics does show that high rates of employment (low unemployment) increases inflation. This makes a lot of sense. If everyone is employed and I want a raise, I can demand almost anything I want because I cannot be replaced - there is no one to replace me with since they are all unemployed.

Oh no! A country with 327 million people has 133% of the infections a country 18% it's size has!!?? Amazing.
To out it in perspective - the next 4 countries below the US on that graphic are still smaller in population than the US and they have around 260,000 cases - more than double.
If anything, it is a sign that things are going to get much worse in the US.
Using stuff like this as some political point is completely disingenuous propaganda. It would be more logical to spin this as proof that Trump's response has saved lives. But of course, it is too early to tell yet. Also, keep in mind his response has been appropriate in context. He has been hesitant to remove rights (in spite of criticism saying our rights are trampled) and we are free to move about and most of the sanctions are essentially voluntary and a lot of people are still not listening.
I would still put money on China being number 1 here. There was an article yesterday about how a single mortuary in China received 5,000 urns this week - which is twice what they are claiming the coronavirus killed. There are 13 mortuaries in China and given the delays that were being seen (lines of people having to wait hours to pick up the remains of their loved ones) - it might be possible that all 13 were in a similar situation. But maybe not. It is speculation. A lot of those may just be the normal deaths that occur anyway.

I'm not pro or anti Trump or any political figure for that matter. Im a firm believer that the president is a talking puppet and no matter who is "in charge" they don't mean much. I think it's foolish to attack or praise 1 person. I think there's way too many people involved in a final decision.
I'm sure il be attacked for this but it's why I stopped voting, my logic is I don't care who gets elected so I don't want my vote to tip the scales away from the people who really care about who the president is.

More people should be using masks though, not to avoid getting sick because it probably won't help IMO, but to avoid making others sick - because it will help contain droplets. Granted, it may help avoid sickness a little because it helps avoid your hands coming into contact with your nose and mouth.
This is exactly WHY you should vote and WHY you should vote for people who are not career politicians. Remember that the Republicans did not support Trump either - they wanted their own people in there. He was an outsider who has no needs and is hard to control, and that is a huge threat to politicians of either side.
Vote for people who have actually accomplished something in REAL life. I can say that for conservatives and liberals. Romney and Bloomberg are both good examples of this (I don't agree with their politics but if I had to vote for either over a life politician they would go in with a huge advantage ). Having someone ghost write a book for you and organising some committees is not what I mean either.

Does anybody recommend a brand or company with a not extremely expensive (like nowhere near rogue fitness prices) equipment that is quality? I mainly want a bench and dumbells but a trap bar with some plates would be great too.
