@Screwtape - yeah I had a bad lady doc in CA, before moving to TX to raise the fam. Find a MAN, male urologist. I wound up on TRT after a seizure July 2018 (long story), but after CA lady endocrinologist gave me the same story of false recovery at 40-50 years old...
"let's see if it comes back" and
"let's try a Testosterone 'taper cycle' to kickstart it (non sense, she would not even do the Clomid thing which my Urologist in TX did suggest) - that CA-endocrinologist lady just gave me a false 'recovery' read from left over "tapering of Test" in my blood. Once that cleared, she left me LowT for 2 years (she convinced me to use Test RX). Later, I realized the taper failed... when 4-DHEA from Iconic actually made me feel way better (was so low on androgens, low energy). I go back, then she puts me on friggin' measly 60mgs/week. This was like dead-old man dose barely any free T like 150-200ng/dL when checked by TX urologist"
Ditch that chick and find a urologist pronto. She also had a crux against 'quality of life' TRT use and athletic TRT too, the way she lectured me..
@Mattgainz69 - as noted by BroffesorX, it's actually pretty easy if you have a decent urologist.
1.) Go off any cycle ~3-4 weeks and get T-levels checked. You may wish to get your own bloodwork before first urologist visits (clean up cholesterol, liver, kidney values that may indicate gear use) so that may add a few more weeks depending how much you've been running PEDs. Hydrate, keep using cycle support supps to help. Bloodwork will normalize and you'll be lowT.
2.) Once you establish lowT values with urologist dude, you'll get a TRT-script. If he asks if you have libido/erection issues, go for the gusto - say yes - and get Cialis at the same time
Got RX for 6 months of Test Cyp 200 + Cialis for the smallish insurance copay $, with 3x refills to boot (so like 2 years total).
3.) Once on TRT, he'll likely check ~6 months later, after first dose titration. So you can run a cycle or two before cleaning up the bloods again. Once past that, the frequency of visits maybe annual only.
4.) Good male urologist gave me all the options (play a little stupid here, like you don't know) if he talks about oral testosterone pills (now 2x a day), or even SubQ TRT (i was surprised he mentioned this), or transdermal TRT. I said I suck at daily vitamin regimens and was used to the plain weekly TRT inject (UGL wise.. before the low dose TRT n CA, then better TRT in TX).
