I very rarely see much activity in the AM Chat Room.

Some members post away O/T in threads as if they are having a private conversation. Some members just love to post to get their thoughts out there for the would to hear. Some are just post whores. I sure would like to see the chat room get used for these random O/T's.

Now on a serious note:

Topics? Guest speakers (sponsors/reps/training)?
 
Scheduled discussions would be very cool. Topics wise...idk really, anything that hasn't been done to death already.
 
I can offer invitations to special guest speakers, but I am going to need to see much greater response and interest from our membership before I invest my time and theirs.

I know people ;)

id love to use the chat room but no one is ever in there. I think you have some really good ideas tho' : guest speakers and scheduled chats, Im for a test run at it.
 
I would say the chat room needs to be promoted more...I don't post a whole lot, but browse around pretty much every day and had no idea there was chat til this thread. Just a thought
 
The only thing I wish we still had was the ability to see what the conversations were about when you came in. As of right now you pop in and it'll look dead even if there was something going on.

This newer chat is much better in terms of flexability and use. It just isn't as visible but it's there.

Like I said I would like to see if there is some interest in the above.

Guests speakers?: Board sponsors, nutritionists, health & wellness, trainers, etc.

Topics?: Sales, promotions, product development, product use/feedback, diets, macronutrition, supplements, strength training, hypertophy training, sets/reps/weight/volume/frequency, etc.

Like I said, if I see an interest I will initiate some communication with the above mentioned to see if I can make something happen. But I need some feedback to know there will be an audiance.

That would be my vote but I bet having a month of certain types of things might make it less strenuous on your part.

November is sponsor month and during that all the scheduled chat could be various things associated with it. WIll it be setup as open forum in the chat room or moderated?

i.e., You have 2-3 guests and the moderator would field questions and say, 'soandso asks...' and let the guests answer or the particular guest if it was directed towards them.

Well the idea of moderated is more appropriate with a 'topic lecture' but it would be nice to have casual dialoge with sponsors and such to develop a community atmosphere and rapport.

Some ground rules for members to follow and such could allow for open discussion.

Moderated is also a good format but, yes, would be strenuos on said moderator if he is unfamiliar with facilitating that sort of activity. Maybe there is some tinkering with the chat room options that may make it a bit easier. I'm still fumbeling around with things.
 
love the idea..would like to chat with some cutting edge supplement manufactuers..take about whats coming down the line so i can save up all my $$$...like that will happen with NP throwing sales and stacks at us like its their job....hold on..:think: there may be something to that...

This is a great idea as well. Someone cutting and pasting then putting it up on the board once the session is done.

Not sure my statements came across correctly.

Yes, moderated is a good idea and even moreso appropriate for a topic discussion with a guest speaker. IOW, if we a Dr. (hint) who is used to a more professional dialoge or if we have a question and answer segment.

I loke the open too, in the event that we have a more familiar speaker who we already have a rapport with who wants just to have general chat.

Both formats are very acceptable and appropriate where applicable.

The transcript of the chat is going to need some tech support. I agree that this a is very good idea.
 
Transcripts are available if/when guest speakers are in chat and you can see up to 1000 messages previously posted when you enter now so you have an idea of whats going on.
 
*suggestion*

Making the backgrounds all loaded and text all loaded the same when entering these planned chats because right now some combos will make chat invisible unless you highlight it with your cursor to reverse the color.

3. whoa....slow down. Two in one day!?!?! Be grateful you get anything ;)

I'm happy to see that our membership is becoming aware of the Chat room.

As I stated; as interest continues to be demonstarted I will pursue guest speakers.

I will say now that there are a few things that are in the works right now that will make for some excitement.

Stay tuned for announcements!
