Anabolic Pump/Recreate cutting cycle/log

Yea, I feel like it put everything I have lost so far back on me, and it was seriously not very much food at all. Really makes me wonder what this country does to it's body day in and day out. It's probably in my head, but my stomach seems really soft compared to what it was this past week at the gym. I really feel like it flattened me out. Looks like I gotta hit cardio up a few extra times to catch myself back up.

Really frustrated with myself right now.

Oh well, can't undue what's past, you can only change the future.

You know, for me personally, I've found that since my carb consumption is pretty low right now (and has been for awhile), whenever I have one of those moments, it seems to stay with me a day or two in the form of a bit more belly and such, then I go back to normal. Matter of fact, it happened to me Tuesday, after the long weekend, then I woke up cool again today. You might just wake up tomorrow and notice the same. Things seem to be working out for you so far GMG, keep up the good work and don't get discouraged!

On a side note, I placed my order for the AP/Recreate stack this morning. I'll be running it with Trib Test Extreme (just 'cuz I've been liking the Get Diesel products lately, and little nettle never hurt anyone, know what I mean?). So...there goes my extra low carbs. A week from Monday, oatmeal, brown rice, whole grain bread and sweet potatoes...HERE I COME!!! Planning on starting w/ 40g per meal, seeing how it goes, and adjusting accordingly from there.

Thanks man, I am not discouraged from my routine, if anything I am gonna work harder now. I just am a little upset with myself, I'll forget about it by tomorrow.

You are gonna love this stack man. Pumps are out of this world, I'll never use an AAKG product again. RIP-OFF.

One thing, even on a cut, I would really recommend keeping your carb intake at around 50g per meal. Don't want to go hypoglycemic. As long as they are clean carbs, I have been losing fat.

Man everyone talks about this Diesel tribulus product. I haven't ever felt much from a trib product. Maybe it's because I haven't run one in a while, but I was never impressed. Maybe I'll have to run this Diesel one though... not anytime soon, next time around is my H-drol... YEA BUDDY!

I am keeping a good eye on this. Sunday will be the end of 4 weeks for me on Recreate/AP. i can say that my strength was through the roof and I have noticed that I am cutting down, mainly around my shoulders.

I ordered another bottle of AP/Recreate and also this time around, DCP to go with it.

We will see how it goes.

Best of luck and keep posting...this is a good read.

I'll be sure to keep that in mind. I've already been looking at all the carb foods I have around the house (which I eat now only sparingly), to see what kind of servings I'll need to eat, and what I'll need to stock up on. I'm friggin' EXCITED!!!

As for the Diesel product, I haven't actually used the trib test yet, but I'm on the DTH and it kicks ass, so I figured I'd give this other one a shot. It's supposed to be a little less intense, but still has the Nettle Root, and costs $10 - 12 less. I'd read that test boosters stack well with AP, so I went for it. I'll let you know how it pans out.

:goodpost: keep up the detailed threads, really enjoying this log and the detail, your working hard and looks to be paying off.

Btw, about 3 weeks into my recreate cyle and cutting routine and got tested at 9.6%BF down from prolly 12-13 a month ago, so 172 pounds, 16.5 pounds of fat, and around 155.5 lbm. recreate is some good stuff!

how long do you wait after taking AP before eating carbs....

15 minutes. I take my AP, hop in the shower (It's been my routine my whole life, I don't feel right without hopping under the water for a minute or two) and then I start cooking my breakfast. All in all, I am eating about 15-20 minutes after I have taken AP. No feelings of hypoglycemia yet. I do start feeling hungry almost as soon as I eat it though. Recreate hasn't really stifled my hunger, it just seems to make me not have cravings for junk, and when I am finished eating I don't feel the need for seconds or anything like that (I expected to coming off a bulk).

So I hit my Delts, Traps, and Forearms up today... did some more volume and a bit heavier weight than last week. I had a great workout, huge pump and lots of definition/striations in my shoulders.

Shoulders
Military Press: 95x15, 115x15, 115x15, 115x11 (phew. That last set was a killer.)
Upright barbell rows - 95x15, 105x15, 115x12
lateral delt raises superset with bent over rear delt raises - four sets of 20lbsx15 for each exercise in the superset.

Traps
Standing Barbell Shrugs - 225x15, 275x12, 315x10, 225x15 :aargh:
Dumbbell Shrugs - 100x15, 110x10

Forearms
Reverse Curls Superset with Behind the back wrist curls - I used a 50 pound barbell for the reverse curls, three sets of fifteen reps; and used an 80 pound barbell for the wrist curls, two sets of forty reps.

Cleans - 3 sets of 15, 95lbs. I sometimes finish with cleans on shoulder /forearm day because it involves those two muscle groups so much. It really makes me work at the end of a workout, and I usually have to go pretty light... really gets my heart going.

Wow this log took off! :D Lookin good my man.I still have to go through a couple more pgs but I must say I likey the inky!

Thanks man! Good to hear from you again!

Yea, I am stoked on my ink, I just want to get one more session in so that I can let my arm heal up and get in the water this summer.

BTW everyone, you can all call me Garrett if you want, GMG is just my initials.

Little pasta isn't gonna kill ya champ...

No worries.

Yea I know. I just haven't ever stuck to a diet before, and haven't ever hit my goal BF before, so this time around I am trying to be pretty serious. Whatever, I know it's not gonna affect me in the long run, I just can't let myself start slacking.

Yeah, no doubt. I've been in your shoes many a time... Appesing the woman or friends with a dinner or a drink here and there. Guess I always just treat a small deviation from my diet as just that, then move on...

Was particularly bad before fights when I had to get down to 3 or 4 % BF - can't make too many mistakes.

So I hit up arms yesterday, and am now taking the weekend off. I may end up doing some cardio tomorrow night, because I will not be getting the chance today or tomorrow morning.

Man, this AP is some great stuff, my arm workouts are incredible. Freaking incredible. I said it before, and I am going to keep repeating myself from here on out. AAKG is a joke compared to AP. Yea veins are cool and all, but it doesn't make your muscles feel like they are going to burst. AP does both. My vascularity is up and my pumps are almost painful... (I am doing sets of 15 reps though, that may have something to do with it :D )

Anyway, here is the lowdown from yesterday.

Biceps/triceps/HIIT

Standing Barbell Curls - 15x45lbs, 15x65, 15x75, 12x85 :head: I can curl 135, but it doesn't hit me quite like that last set did. Really good concentration/mind muscle connection on this exercise.

Skullcrusher superset w/ close grip presses (incline bench) - EZbar and 25'sx15, 30'sx15, 35'sx15. I forget how much an ezbar ways.

Hammer curls - 15x30lbs, 15x35lbs, 15x40lbs

single arm french press superset with bench dips - 15x20lbs, 15x25lbs, 12x30lbs; 20 bodyweight, 20 1 plate, 20 2 plates.

single arm cable curls - 15x30lbsx3sets (:aargh:pain is weakness leaving my bicep)

cable tricep pressdown overhand superset with underhand grips - overhand - 15x80, 15x120, 15x140; underhand - 15x80x3 sets

HIIT - 20 minutes on Stationary Bike

Great Arm workout. Saw Iron Maiden last night. Those guys f*ckin rock. Amazing show.

Just FYI - Most EZ bars I have used are 35 pounds... Puttin up some serious poundage buddy!

Just FYI - Most EZ bars I have used are 35 pounds... Puttin up some serious poundage buddy!

Thanks man, my arms are actually pretty strong in comparison to my legs or chest. I guess it is what I have focused on the hardest and trained correctly from the start. Plus I used to do WAAAAY to much volume for arms, and while I didn't get the best growth out of it, my arms can take a beating before I run out of fuel. You gotta remember, I am actually cutting back weight on almost all these exercises to get to the 15 rep mark. I can move some pretty serious weight (for my size... lets keep this within reality here... I'm not curling 225 or anything) at the 6-8 rep range.

So I ended up finding time for a run yesterday. Not to gloat to all of you inlanders, but the beach was epic yesterday. 45 minutes, about 5 miles.

My Napalm came! I am going to start using it tomorrow! with the capsiacin cream. Funny thing, the Napalm bottle has a disclaimer on it that says that there is no actual napalm in the supplement.:toofunny:

Dude, I know you just have to watch your back these days and disclaim everything, but I mean... Napalm?!... I gotta give them credit though, they did make me laugh.

I guess that really would just melt the fat away...

I guessing tomorrow's HIIT is gonna BURN!

Time to get some rest. I had a busy weekend.

dude, you've inspired me! think I'm gonna start a log myselfe for the AP/recreate stack I'm runnin' week from monday.

Right on bro, let me know when you start your log.

Keep it up big dog!

I'll be big one of these days... at least that is what I keep telling myself ;). lol. There is a trainer at my gym that calls me that. Every single day. It makes me think of those crappy shirts from the early 90s.

Whats up everyone!

So it's Monday... time to get things back to normal. I think that I am gonna wait on working any more on my tats for the rest of this log so that my schedule won't get screwed up anymore.

So today was back to my original plan. I did Chest Tri's and HIIT.

Today was also my first day to try out my new Napalm topical fat burner from Avant Research. I forgot to buy the capsiacin cream... I need to go get that tonight... Anyway back to the napalm. It said to start with one pump per application then working one's way up to three. I put one pump on and it didn't cover the area that I thought it needed to (I am only putting it on my lower abs, obliques and lower back) so used two and it seemed to be the right amount. The stuff starts to tingle almost immediately and keeps tingling for a while. We'll find out if that tingle means it's working... just have to wait and see. So far, I am optimistic about the product.

Great pump in the gym today. Crazy vascularity. Another great workout on AP.

CHEST:
Incline Bench: 135lbsx15, 145lbs x15, 155lbsx12, 155x11 (I gotta keep working at this press... it's the hardest for me)

Bench: 145x15, 155x15, 165x15. (These light weights aren't that great for the ego, but it the way my chest pumps up with the high reps/light weights goes to show that powerlifting and bodybuilding are two VERY different sports)

Incline Cable Fly: 15x 45lbs, 50lbs, 55lbs,

Low-Cable crossovers (or high... I don't know the right name for the exercise once again... they work the upper pectoral) - 15x 30lbs, 40lbs, 40lbs.

TRICEPS: (I am taking Timberlakers word for an EZbar weighing 35lbs.)

Skull Crusher superset w/ Close grip bench (incline bench) - 85lbsx15, 95lbsx15, 105lbsx15. Repped close grip bench for first 2 up to 15. Lost it at 4 with the last close grip bench... ran out of steam. No complaints about muscle failure though, you know you got your job done.

Single arm french press - 25 lbsx15, 30x15, 30x15.
superset with seated dips - 2 plates (on lap) x 20 reps x 3 sets

Tricep pressdowns (narrow v attachment) - 80lbs, 100lbs, 120lbs.

HIIT - 20 minutes on stationary bike.

I have been feeling pretty good lately, I really like this stack I am running, it feels really clean. I should also note that my spirits (for the most part) have been really up during this stack as well. I think my body is receiving the change-up in training well, my strength isn't where I thought it would be, especially in my chest, but it doesn't make a difference to me because I can see the results in the mirror. My joints are loving me right now, and I think I have felt the last (for now) of the shoulder pain that kept flaring up from a day about six months ago of WAY to much volume on the bench. No pain for the last three weeks... good signs.

Thanks for keeping this interesting for me guys, the log has really been helping me keep my goals in mind and my routine/diet on track. Plus you guys keep me laughing day in and day out. Now to go eat some more. :food:

What up man?

Just got mine in today. I took 1 AP and 1 recreate around 5:30 - ate a good meal - then went to the gym... (would have done the AM thing - but I didnt get the package until 3PM!

had a great chest workout... Definitely had a lot of extra sweating from the Recreate. Also got my Xtend today as well.

Keep it goin man!

Good to hear bro, I think you're gonna like this stack. Have you taken xtend yet?

Hahaha, Xtend sounds like Xtends... a different pill you might see on deep cable late night commercials... you sure you didn't mix these two up now Timber did ya?

Haahaa, no... First time tryin XTend - loved it though. Kinda tart - not too sweet - and very concentrated. Mixed it in a huge 40 ounce plastic bottle and sipped on it. My sex drive is far to aggressive as is - no pills needed.

I warm up on a chest press machine before I use freeweights, and I blew out 3 @ 250 lbs... which is a personal best. Not sure what the hell it was - maybe just adrenaline or placebo, but it felt great. Tomorrow is shoulders - which is my favorite day... can't wait!!!

Confused what to do tomorrow AM. I usually take a muscle milk shake immediately when I wake up, then hit off some oatmeal when I get to the office.. What do you think I should do? take the MMilk then AP before the oatmeal at the office? Or skip the muscle milk alltogether and have some protein after the AP and oatmeal?

I would recommend to follow the directions and eat your protein after the AP with your carbs... I haven't deviated (nor am I going to) so I really can't say what is best. I prefer whole protein in the morning, but I cook/eat breakfast at home. I guess one of the reps for USP would be a good place to start for questions like that.

I bet the pre-workout drink is what gave you that boost for your big lift... AP seems to give me really good pumps, I haven't noticed much of a difference in strength yet.

What does your shoulder routine entail? I would think that shoulders would be a workout that would be pretty different between an MMA guy and a Bodybuilder. I know that my overhand right has gotten a lot less overhand since my shoulders have developed. found that out a few weeks ago boxing one of my friends (for fun). My overhand used to be NASTY, you wouldn't see it comming. Now its more of a hook. Still knocked my buddy on his ass though.

Did you guys see the Kimbo fight? I swear that dude gets put up against some serious tomato cans. Yea, this guy fought better than any of the others, but come on, lets see him fight Vanderlay(sp?) Silva. Or how about that Marine that gave Doug Marshal that wicked Mike Tyson-esq left hook. That guy was F*cking way gnarly. Solid feet, that's what I notice about that Marine guy, if that guy plants his feet and connects, I think it would put anyone in the WEC out of commission.

Hahaha, everytime someone in the gym would ask me what i was sippin on and i told them it was xtend, they looked at me like WTF.. i would have to go into detail about what it was so they didnt think i was 'troubled' haha, but it has a great taste and really helps me w/ endurance/recovery.

I was AT the Kimbo fight. ( I live / work in Manhattan)... First of all, that byach tapped in the first round.. and they should have let that fight go about 10 seconds more than it did so it wasn't so controversial. I didn't watch the recast on TV, but you should have heard the BOOS in the arena. Kimbo says, "I LOVE YOU NEW JERSEY"... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Almost embarrassing.

Anyway, yes, my shoulders are nasty, and the workout is nasty. I have two routines I alternate between... but the usual suspects - Presses, DB / BB Snatch / weighted dips / plate raises / plate rotations / cable flys / shrugs / handstand pushups / standing DB flys / rubber bands... Then of course the constant boxing helps as well.

You really think the XTend got down like that? Then I love that stuff... You can water it down like crazy too, money well spent.

By the way - you're lucky your overhand right is straighening out... Loopy punches are for rookies and drunk street brawls. Right down the pipe homie.

Yea yea yea I know it's an unorthodox schoolyard punch. Whatever, I haven't gotten in a fight that I was scared of losing in a long time (you get smarter as you get older... funny thing), though when it comes to you pro guys, well, I would definately call myself a rookie. It's not like every punch I throw is an overhand, I just something I used to have up my sleeve when I was ****ing around with my friends, now my shoulder doesn't work like that. I doubt I would be throwing a punch like that in the ring. Doesn't mean it wasn't nasty though, I have smashed a few peoples faces with it. But yes, I completely admit that the punch leaves you wide open... people still use it though, look at what happened with the Faber/Pulver match. Faber threw a bunch of overhand lefts. Then again he is the best fighter at that weight in the world right now, he could probably slap me with his open palm to submission. lol.

God... that Faber match was beautiful... wasn't it?

Yes, he had some sneaky rights.. All fighters can throw it, and sometimes it works. He also had some straight up nasty sneaky straight rights too...

Lol were they rights? stupid brain flipping things around.

By the way, my second day I changed up breakfast (today)... I woke up, took 2 RC, then 1AP 15 min later.

Soaked some oats and water in the blender, showered, then did 2 scoops of ON Whey, 1 equal packet, 1tsp of cocoa powder (so much tastier than the whey flavoring, and good for you!), and a half scoop of dried milk - with the soaked oats... Decent shake.

Anyway, this puts me in line with the directions! Also, took my second RC at 6:45 - TOO LATE! Wont make that mistake twice...

And I know I was excited about shoulders last night, but my triceps were still too blown up from chest / tri day.. So I did full back.

I think I'm going to split back and shoulders and do the rotation like this:

1: Chest
2: Back
3: Shoulders
4: Legs

Abs 3 times a week and daily cardio... I can't do a complete arm day. I like just working them out with the other groups as after effects, then blowing them up if I have extra time one day. My arms get big too fast, and it could slow the punches.

Yea, next thing you know you are Tank Abbot. lmao.

Hit legs earlier in the week, it takes more energy and you are less likely to say screw it. IMHO.

That being said, I am loving this Napalm Shtuff. I am not sure if it is just the recreate having a few weeks to work, or the cardio showing, but I feel tight and leaner across the mid-section. Definately gonna be in my future cutting arsenal. New pics up soon!

I did Legs yesterday... here is how it went

Quad extention - two sets of 45lbsx15
Squat - 135x15, 185x15, 195x15, 205x15 (my hammies hurt like a mofo today... hells yea. )
RDL- 135x15, 225x15, 315x8, 315x4 :aargh:
Leg Press - 315x15, 405x15, 405x15
Walking Lunges holding a plate - 2 sets of 20
Calf raises on leg press - three sets 225x20
Calf raises on calf machine - 3 sets 100x20
superset with standing single leg calf raises - 3 sets bodyweightx20 (10 each foot)

What a hell of a workout. My legs are smoked today.

I got abs and cardio today.

ABS: hanging leg raises - 3 sets of 20
cable crunches - 3 sets of 60lbsx30
side crunches - two sets of 50 for each side.

Cardio
45 minutes on Eliptical.

This recreate, AP, and Napalm is working wonders on my abs. I am 2 and a half weeks in, and I am the leanest I have ever been. I weighed in at about 183 today. BF%, LBM, and measurements after next week. New pictures this week. Diet has been right with my plan.

Off to work.

Dude, I friggin' LOVE napalm! I've gone through two bottles in the last couple of months, and I really like the effects.

And nice leg workout, bro! Do it to it!!

Napalm huh? I'm really skeptical about a topical fat burner... I just let people punch me... That seems to work ok. I wish you had just tried Napalm without the RC, then you'd have a control to work from, and I might be inclined to give it a try.

Aaaaannyway, I feel you on the legs earlier in the week... but I meant that as a rotation, so day 5 - I'm back on #1. usually take 1 day off a week. I'm surprisingly hard to unmotovate... Well that and 50% of the reason I go to the gym is to stare at chicks.

Also realized a couple days ago that I didn't buy 100% casein. I bought ON's equivalent of muscle milk, which costs more (surprisingly) and doesn't taste as good. However, its lower in fat and carbs, which is a nice positive for bedtime. Guess I'll just have to go buy another. :frustrate:

Oh, and TONIGHT IS SHOULDERS!!!!! :djparty:

Believe in the Napalm, man...it really works. I don't usually go in for topicals either, but this stuff is is the $hiznit!!!

Word. I like the fact that the chicks stare back these days. These muscle things are working out for me after all.

I saw that you did that... I actually hadn't even seen that product until I bought my last bottle of casein, the product is pretty new I think.

So yea bro, you just want the Gold standard Whey and gold standard casein. One is red, the other is blue. GET THOSE DELTS! THEY ARE EVIL AND SHOULD BE PUNISHED ACCORDINGLY!!!

BTW. Napalm seems to be working wonders for me and its only day 3. It was worth the 36 bucks already. I am not going to use the capsiacin cream yet, I seem to be getting good results from just the napalm. As far as using just one fat burner... Eh, this isn't a sponsored log. If USP wants to give me a bottle or two for my next run I'll be happy to stick with just AP and recreate. Since it is my money and time, I figure why not go all out... I have both the money and time, so lets get ripped!!!

Dude... I want to design the new bottle for ON Casein. The front should say in huge block letters:

100% Casein - Tastes so RAUNCHY, it HAS to work!!!

God that was hard to choke down. I felt like I was drinking chocolate barf! The things I do...

Anyway, added Superpump into my stack...

Yeah, it's some chalky stuff, huh? But it works well. I'm actually thinking about picking some up myself.

It isn't that bad, it's just hard to get used to how thick it is. Buy the vanilla, I like it A LOT better than the chocolate. The things you do?... You get punched in the face by choice and you are complaining about drinking some thick protein. lol. You'll get used to it.

Superpump is good shtuff, I like Gaspari products (except for the new halodrol liquigels... that stuff is overpriced DHEA/Ecdysterone bullsh*t). Not a big fan of the way Superpump mixes though.

You'd think you'd tell me to buy the vanilla before I buy the chocolate 'supreme'...

I just figured since their chocolate whey is so much better than the vanilla - it was ano brainer.

It's not like I think the chocolate is really that bad. I just think you arn't used to casein. Everyone has their tastes. I have a friend who refuses to drink any vanilla flavored protein, everyone has their own tastes... but yea, I'll let you know from now on if I like one flavor better than the other.

BTW, bro... Just had my casein for the night... (almost bedtime)

Its definitely NOT the thickness - cause I used 28 ounces of water, and its no thicker than my morning shake (w/ oats) or my after workout shake..

It's the fact that it tastes like a 4,000 pound rabid bull just nutted straight in my mouth. I guess with a chocolate dipped weiner.

Anyway, today was a well deserved night off from the gym after some good sparring around lunch time. Unfortunately spent the night watching my Lakers get pounded on... Heartbreaking...

That's quite a graphic description,
