I dont get why none of you take some good Red Yeast Rice and CoQ10. I did a cycle of superdrol when it very first came out a few years back. I did a 4 week cycle, 10/20/20/30, and had blood work done before my cycle, and conveniently had it done about 3 weeks after my cycle had ended. My lipid values acually went from good to great. If you get the high quality RYR and make sure you supplement it with CoQ10, it works wonders. Just don't hear it much around this board...I used it through PCT as well.

its for lipids...i took milk thistle and Liv.52 as well. Just telling you what happened in my experience. Idk how valid RYR being liver toxic is. Doctors recommend it all the time for cholesterol

true, but doctors also prescribe vicodin and motrin 800s, which are extremely toxic.

COQ10 is a great on cycle and Pct supplement to use but its expensive that for sure. I used the NOW brand 100mg COQ10it also has 400mg Hawthorn Berry added.

RYR is toxic to the liver and can be very dangerous when combined with a 17a methylated steroid. That's why people don't take it.
As far as coq10 it is a good antioxidant and also helps with the efficiency of the heart's pumping action so yes this should be take during/after most cycle IMO.

Red Yeast Rice is the source of certain compounds, one of which is called mevinolin, which not only lowers cholesterol but has some antioxidant properties as well. Melvionlin enzymatically inhibits a comppound called mevalonate, which ends up decreasing LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) while either maintaining or increasing HDL cholesterol(the good kind).

Red Yeast Rice is a unique natural product native to China that’s been used in Asian traditional medical systems since approximately 800 A.D. Produced by fermenting red yeast (Monascus purpureus) with white rice. Red Yeast Rice Extract is carefully produced to avoid the presence of citrinin, a by-product of the fermentation process.
Red Yeast Rice contains HMG-CoA (hydroxymethylglutaryl CoA) reductase inhibitors, which are compounds that inhibit an enzymataic reaction necessary to produce cholesterol in the body, especially in the liver. The liver is considered the main site of cholesterol production and is responsible for over 75% of our total cholesterol supply. The liver contains plenty of HMG-CoA reductase and Red Yeast Rice works to inhibit its action, thereby decreasing cholesterol production. NOW® Red Yeast Rice Extract is carefully produced to avoid the presence of citrinin, a sometimes toxic by-product of the fermentation process.

One clinical study conducted at the College of Pharmacy of Nihon University in Japan found that red yeast rice pigment, referred to as Monasus pigment, was able to inhibit, through oral administration, the growth of malignant tumors induced in laboratory test mice.

i dont see how thats liver toxic...if you got some shitty brand that was contaminated...yes...but that goes for anything in the world that you eat

I think you'l find a hell of a lot of guys that run ph's also run cycle support which contains a plethora of support supps in its ingredient profile.

"Side Effects and Warnings
There is limited evidence about the side effects of red yeast. Mild headache and abdominal discomfort can occur. Side effects may be similar to those for the prescription drug lovastatin (Mevacor®). Heartburn, gas, bloating, muscle pain or damage, dizziness, asthma and kidney problems are possible. People with liver disease should not use red yeast products.

In theory, red yeast may increase the risk of bleeding. Caution is advised in patients with bleeding disorders or taking drugs that may increase the risk of bleeding. Dosing adjustments may be necessary. A metabolite of Monascus called mycotoxin citrinin (CTN) in fermentation may be harmful.

There are not many studies of the interactions of red yeast rice extract with drugs. However, because red yeast rice extract contains the same chemicals as the prescription drug lovastatin, the interactions may be the same. Fibrate drugs or other cholesterol-lowering medication may cause additive effects or side effects when taken with red yeast. Alcohol and other drugs that may be toxic to the liver should be avoided with red yeast rice extract. Taking cyclosporine, ranitidine (Zantac®) and certain antibiotics with red yeast rice extract may increase the risk of muscle breakdown or kidney damage.

Red yeast may interact with products that cause liver damage or are broken down in the liver. Grapefruit juice may increase the blood levels of red yeast. Milk thistle, St. John's wort, niacin and vitamin A may interact with red yeast rice extract. Coenzyme Q levels may be lowered by red yeast rice extract. Cholesterol-lowering herbs and supplements like guggul or fish oils may have increased effects when taken with red rice yeast"

All in all, it doesn't sound like something I'd want to run alongside an oral steroid cycle.

RYR is RYR. NOW foods can do what they want to try and reduce the liver toxicity while fermenting, ok let's give them that.

You still have the interference of CoQ10, weakening muscles and kidneys, not to mention other reports sourcing joints. Headaches, heart burn.

All of these are counter productive to an oral cycle.

RYR may or may not screw with you, however it's not something i'm willing to try out. The fact that it can weaken muscle tissue is enough.

Maybe RYR would best be used after a cycle to help repair lipid damage, and not concurrently with methylated compounds, to minimize its damaging effects on the liver
