All Fathers

Well it looks like im going to be a dad in about 9mths. Me and my wife eat very healthy eating alot of veggies and fruits, grains. But what im looking for is supplenets be sides a standard prenatal vitamin that would benefit the growing baby. I want to get her on flaxseed oil, greens, EGCG

1st off: Congrats! If you know 9-months ahead of time, did you use IVF?

Standard prenatal vitamin is a good start. I took a course in this field, but I still think that it is better laid out in the articles online. See some of these hits; Invalid Link Removed .

A good list of 5 from the 4th link is:
Folate, DHA, Chlorella/Greens, Probiotics, Vitamin D.

congrats bro.
The stuff steve mentioned should be helpful. Other than that, i'd say consult your pharmacist if not GP. There's a lot of multivitamins and supplements out there that may be good for us but are quite detrimental to a fetus and the mother. If i'm correct, vitamin A in large quantities is dangerous in this aspect.

congratulations.

For our first two children the doctor had my wife on just pre-natal vitamins. On this last go around he had her on an Omega 3 supplement as well. Other than that I wouldn't sweat it too much, your wife's body is going to tell her what she needs, hence the sometimes weird cravings.

How old is your wife?

My wife just had our first a couple of months ago at age 36. All she did take was prenatal vitamins. She did go for lots of walks as her pregnancy went on.

Id be careful with taking too many supplements while pregnant, my sister did this and ended up in labor at 5 months!

Very true...You'll be suprised how well her body tells her what she needs...

Prenatals and Omegas are all I can really think of...

Any congrats...It's gonna change your life...for the better :) My kids have made my life amazing...

Congratulations!

I put my wife on basic prenatals with additional folic acid, sublingual B12 and fish or krill oil. My daughter is 2 and still gets fish oil in her cereal every morning. She's already as smart as a can be.

my wife is 26 and im 24. everyone says this is the best time to have a baby when your young. amazing thing is we only tried for 3mths.

Congrats brotha, my wife just took the standard prenatals but she ate alot of sea food. Fortunately no mercury poision but I didn't even know what that was when my daughter was born 16yrs ago. One thing we did was read to the baby while in the oven also played music for. We have 3 daughters and my oldest has/had the best comprehension (16yrs old now comprehension gone)and loves to dance. Which yyou and your wife the best.
