Back strap is my favorite cut. Breaded and fried = scrumptious.

Frank Reynolds said:Im not sure where Kleen was going with his statement because there are a few reasons one may choose to limit carbs in that situation.
However some general thoughts on fat/carbs is.
1. Limit dietary fat in the presence of high levels of insulin. Dietary fat will be more easily transported to adipose tissue.
2. Add fats to carb meals in order to slow digestion and have a more stable rise in blood sugar.
I personally always add fats to carb meals. However if I'm doing a "refeed" where insulin levels are going to be extreme I try and limit fat as best I can.
My pre wo meal is actually much like what AZ describes. Raisin bread + butter or cream of rice with butter/coconut oil.

MrKleen73 said:Interestingly enough Frank there is a study showing that fat does not slow the insulin response of carbohydrates. I would have to dig it up but I was amazed by this. Now a large meal containing fat the bolus entry to the intestines is constricted making it smaller to allow proper digestion which slows the digestion process down but the fat content of the meal appears to not slow the insulin reaction as much as one would think. I believe they use 50g of carbs from oats and then 50 grams of carbs with 50 grams of fats from butter and go the same insulin response. I will have to see if I can locate it.

Interesting. Did they also monitor blood sugar?
Frank Reynolds said:Where is this feeling? Chest? Shoulder? Spine?
MrKleen73 said:Yes, I think I just found it but it was potato. The study I found is on NIDDM people but the Objective also states the same findings of normal people. Basically in a normal person the insulin response is the same or higher however the blood sugar levels were lower.
The results for the NIDDM (Diabetic) were obviously somewhat different with a higher glucose levels in the blood, and even higher insulin secretion.
Just cut this past weekends up, get a deer a week on average, freezer needs to be stocked by Jan 1st

Thanks.
For me, the reason I add fats especially pre wo is the blood sugar control(I was never concerned with insulin) . It provides me more even energy levels and prevents a mid workout crash.

Or you could add 1 scoop of whey, 2tbsp of PB with it. You won't even know there is chicken in there. Throw some spinich in there for your greens.
mmmmm
Frank Reynolds said:Lol maybe I'll try it. I've literally never eaten tuna in my life. Not even once.

I'm all about whole food shakes.AaronJP1 said:It's quick and easy man! Doesn't taste great, I would try it once...
I use it when I'm out of powder.
It's a lot of quality food, and two shakes a day gets ya just over 100g of protein VS. Having a punk ass 23-25g protein shake 2-3 times a day.
:bigok:
superbeast668 said:You call your self a body builder and you've never once had tuna? Is there sarcasm there or are you actually serious.
You don't fùck with tuna but here's the recipe...
703 Calories

No I don't call myself a bodybuilder. Lol
But yes 100% serious. I've never eaten canned tuna. I can count on one hand the amount of times I've tried seafood in general.

I have tried sashimi a couple times and both times I gagged on it. I'm not sure what it is about it. I could barely get down a California roll.superbeast668 said:Have you at least had like ahi or sushi with real tuna in it?
AaronJP1 said:Frank, is there any studies showing any differences between a liquid food meal vs a whole food meal?
jimbuick said:I've been thinking about it. As of right now I eat ~4k a day and have problems seeing the scale move. Blending my meals may be just what I need.

That's what pisses me off is I hate tuna, but if I liked it. It would b so easy to bulk!
