Adding Reputation

I am fairly new to forums and I was hoping someone could tell me a little more about adding to someone's reputation.

When should this be done generally?

Do I lose anything by adding to someone's rep?

Is there a limit to when it can be done?

Rep is designed so you can let someone know you enjoy their particular reply,thread or general input into the community over all. It can be done however you feel it should be rewarded.

You have a rep power of 168 points currently and this will increase as you are repped and as your time on the boards increases as well as your posts. There is a limit of repping over a 24 hour period as well as having to cycle reps before repping the same individual over again. You lose no points by repping others.

Rep power reflect pos reps we get+ time on board + posts.
What do points stand for then? What's the difference between points and rep power?

There is no neg repping on this board anymore. Jayhawkk asked that it be removed after he posted pics of Ricky Martin in our no-longer existant Adult Forum and was neg repped to high hell. Admin, being a ricky martin fan, agreed and removed neg reps and instead ov zeroing out their neg reps decided that taking the absolute value would be a better approach...thus giving Jayhawkk's his 40k reputation.

...whew...long story.
