2009 College Football Season

Guess what. I dont give two ****s about anyone on this board. Why would I? All you slap ****s do is jaw like you know what youre actually talking about. You are the Film Actors Guild of college football. You read the newspaper and then repeat it like its your own opinions. Seriously, you can all **** yourself somewhere. Go ahead, shake your head and think about how much better you are, maybe even chuckle. I really dont give two ****s.

You honestly think any team besides Bama, who has a epicly awful QB, could have won without their twice heisman nominated QB? You hinged your hopes on your running game, we had it on our passing game. Youre insanely UNSTOPPABLE OH MY GOD SO HARDCORE offense had...263 yards of offense Oh man, domination at its finest. Im not trying to play the victim, Texas lost but I want you to know and acknowledge just how ass lucky you got in winning that game. If you beat a Tebowless Florida, would you really be that proud? Not only losing Colt, but that his backup fumbled and didnt ram it down your throats on a game winning drive in the 4th. This is just another game that an SEC got handed. The Ohio State games were jokes and then we have to hear, OMG SEC is just SOOOO INTENSE. Its annoying. Your defense doesnt hit hard, they hit his nerve and he couldnt throw the ball 5 yards. Thats just a lucky ass hit. Mother****ing Bama fans are such trash, I hate listening to them. Enjoy your walmart trophy. Moreso than a loss, is the stinging realization that I have to listen to beligerant double wide occupants scream "ROW TAHD" and how the SEC is the best conference and how their defense is LIGHTS OUT AND SO INTENSE. WE HIT SO HARD. YOU CANT RUN THE OPTION, OR ELSE WE WILL KILL YOU AND RIP YOU IN HALF RAAAAH. Bama had less offensive yards than Texas did with a true freshman QB. You got away with a bull**** NC. Just another one you can set next to all the fake ones you already claim.

Hey... you mad?

:haha: Man for someone who doesn't care what any of us think you sure feel the need to do a lot of explaining. Me thinks thou doth protest too much.

I dont care what any of you think, but Bama fans need to be kept in line. Just like Miami, ND, and a few other places, you have to keep their fans in check because they love the way their own **** tastes and have a beligerant need to share it.

That said, just be glad you drew a Pac 10 team for your first BCS win since 2006. You and everyone else wont be lucky enough to play a WAC level conference team again. The Pac 10, we always assumed was down becuase of SCs dominance. Turns out, they just sucked.

This is exactly the response I expected from all the Big Ten haters on here and it is just very very typical. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Oh well.

Football is culturally irrelevant in the north, your players are slower, and your only hope is to lob all the talent you have into like 2 flagship schools. Just be glad Iowa has an insane S&C scene out there. They come up as a state surprisingly often IIRC.

Football is culturally irrelevant in the North huh? Of all the asinine things you have said, and there have been too many too count, that has to be the most asinine and not worthy of reply. Go back to excuse making and crying about your team getting beat loser.

^^^That is the saddest thing I've ever read.

Wasn't a back-up... but a true freshman? Wait... what? Never mind... ((sigh))

How about a little accountability on your team's part? Texas got exposed for what they are -- a one-trick pony. When your star QB went down, did your fierce, #1-ranked rush defense step it up? No... they allowed two of our running backs to go over the century mark. Richardson made them look silly. Oh, and speaking of a 4-yard field... that's about what Texas had in the first quarter. In fact, I believe it was 1st-and-goal from the 1-yard line. Bama's defense DID rise to the occasion then, in order to compensate for a poor play-call on the punt.

Here's what the Tide has gong for them that your team doesn't: Any SINGLE player on Bama's team could've gone down in that game, including their best offensive player, Ingram... and the result would've been the same. Our Butkus Award-winning LB wasn't even our star player on defense last Thursday. Texas got by all year on a soft schedule and the play of TWO players -- McCoy and Shipley. Don't blame Alabama because your team was one-dimensional. Bama was, unquestionably, the best and most complete TEAM in college football this year. Now I know why all the trees in Oklahoma lean south. Because Texas' running game sucks.

Classless TD??? Are you joking? They RAN the ball straight ahead on every play. Wait... did the 'Horns not see that coming? Christ. It was their defense's job to stop them. They couldn't. Ball game.

Yeah, you're right... Alabama's pathetic. Enjoy those sour grapes, #2. In the meantime, send an email to Mack and remind him to recruit a running back this year... that is, if you can type through your tears.

You're my buddy rubberring, but I disagree with a few points of your post. First of all, I do believe that Texas's defense played well. You brag about having 2 100 yard rushers, but is that really difficult when thats ALL you did the entire game other than 50 something yards passing? Also, I dont know if I agree with your comment of ANY player going down. If McElroy went down and Colt is still in that game, Texas flat out WINS that game. Not even close. Texas would load the box up and Colt would of scored at least 30+ points with that offense. I honestly thought going into that game that Alabama was a MUCH better team than Alabama. However, Mcelroy as I predicted, fell on his face when the pressure was on. Saban knew it would happen and took the ball away from him. Luckily for Alabama everything went there way and they came out with the win.

Big shock. You wanted Texas to win that game more than TT did.

No matter how you phrase it, when you allow 5.5 yards per carry, you ain't gettin' it done -- especially when you know it's coming.

Right, Greg always falls on his face in big games. Like the SEC CG... or that last drive against our intrastate rival. Hey, I didn't want to bring this up, because I know you've read about this, and excuses just aren't my style... but there were other things going on with McElroy.

Look, bottom line --- Whether it makes you all warm and fuzzy inside or not, Alabama put their best available players against Texas' best available players and won. Injuries are part of the game. In the weeks leading up to the game, I could've made the argument that Texas didn't belong in Pasadena because Bradford went down in the first quarter of the RRR... but I didn't. Wanna know why? Because it's a lame argument.

How convenient it is for the haters that Colt didn't play. It allows you to speculate and hypothesize about what might have been, and then give no credit to the team your guys lost to. Personally, I don't know what that's like... but from up here at the top, it sounds really, really, really pitiful.

Should've. Could've. Would've.

Bleh.

I lived up north, in Indiana. Its just another sport and once the seasons over, people forget it. The south has two seasons. Football. And football off season.

Indiana is a crazy basketball state that is def not true of Michigan and I KNOW it's not true of Ohio(the birth place of the sport) Ohioans eat, sleep and live football there isn't a sport that's a close second. I live in an area where businesses close or open late so workers can watch the Buckeyes play. I'd call that "culturally relevant".

That cracked ribbed thing has come out to the public in Alabama as a scam by Alabama fans to try to make them look better about beating texas without McCoy. On a side note it has came to note that Jordan Shipley was playing 96% of the NC game with two broken legs and the entire defensive line all had Mono. Good post though rubberring. Really got the tears flowing about how Alabama was really struggling to field a team.

You're right, Mulder... it's an elaborate media conspiracy to excuse Bama for WINNING the game.

Might want to wash down that crow with a protein shake or something.

"Hey Sam, good news: According to their own logic, if you stay out for the rest of the game... Texas doesn't really win! Also, I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico."

D@mn TT, it always sux to lose, and if anyone can't stand the SEC, its me. But the game is over and Texas lost. Sh!tty win or whatever. A win is a win. No need to throw everyone under the bus. The horns have been a good football team for a long, long, time. The fanbase is why I can't stand the conference,(SEC) and I don't want to feel that way about UT fans. Good game.

You must know that others are reading this thread and getting a huge laugh at your attempt at victim status. Yeah... you don't wear that so well. You've been a total arrogant redneck douche since you entered this thread, and now you want to call the world out for being "classless." If the shoe were on the other foot, I would've been majorly disappointed, but still realized that my team just didn't get it done on defense or in the running game... which happen to be two major phases of a football contest.

...a HUGE laugh

You must spread reputation around before giving it to Rubbering again.

really, highschool and college football is "a way of life" in rural pennsylvania and other surrounding states. BTW my highschool is the second winningest in the state in class AA.

From august till february..its MCA highschool football on friday nights...penn state/pitt/and nortre dame on saturdays...and eagles and steelers on sundays around here..(except for a dallas fan like me)

I would have burned it and I'm not even kidding. My wife is from LA and I've told her family from the beginning don't send any USC stuff to my house it will be a terrible waste of your money and to their credit they never have. All three of my kids came home from the hospital in Ohio State clothes, you gotta raise 'em right.

I was born in the OSU Medical Center.

haha so bitter wow. Alabama's Qb isn't epicly awful but why throw the ball when you can be safe and just grind the game with two stud rb's. Granted he isn't an elite Qb like mccoy but he does have a championship ring on his finger after starting only one year. Football is a team sport. That's why Texas lost. That's why Florida lost. The second you remove all the talent around tebow he doesn't look all that great anymore.

Yup I'll even go as far as saying it's just college football not even pro. The only sport I watch is college football. If I'm watching espn its just to see if they are going to say anything about college football. Everything else is just crap.

I don't blame Lane Kiffin one bit. He had said his dream job was SC. He had said he would leave UT for SC.

Does it suck balls for UT? Yeah - big time.

I can't fault the guy. The one year part is reason for UT to be bitter but by the same token - he told all of us that.

jmh, I think you have the wrong impression. No one in Knoxville is upset. In fact, they've decided to rename a major city facility after Kiffin.

And yet you've left your first love for the Razorbacks. It's a terible shame really. :joke:
I do love the Razorbacks and I love attractive, fast paced football so the switch came naturally (j/k j/k you knew I had to stick that in there).

Don't show this to any Auburn fans. This year, they only subscribe to Rivals.

Before Saban and co. got to Tuscaloosa, a top 10 recruiting class would've thrilled any Tide fan. This year, I've read comments on Bama forums stating the subtle disappointment over not winning three consecutive recruiting titles! Ahhh... the times have certainly changed in T-town. :D

Btw, keep an eye on Stanford. They hired a new defensive staff (God knows they needed an upgrade there) and had a solid class this year at #15.

USC had a good day, but with Carol jumping ship and Kiffin coming in I have to admit that I'm a little worried about our upcoming season.

I'm disappointed with our effort this year and it's a small class too. We did get two 4 star running backs which we needed but very mediocre class overall.

With all the talent they ended up with, would someone like to enlighten me on why Texas only recruited one running back?

While they're obviously important as an indicator, I wouldn't read too much into the rankings. The big question is whether the needs were addressed. Look at Georgia the past few years. Top 5 class each year from 2005-09... and not much to show for it.

I dont know...but it makes me more inclined to send a PSA there...seriously. Im getting the lifts down...quickness and running when summer comes...who knows.

My thoughts on NSD.

Auburn...wow.
Florida State...wow...looks like we will be hearing that seminole chant again.
Les Miles time is done after this year.
Texas A&M got hosed by Cory Nelson. Just wow.
Cal recruited pretty well. Too bad they will never be good at anything.
Stanford is doing pretty good...I pray A&M will pick up Harbaugh...
Ohio State recruited like a bunch of sissy***gots. Losing all the 5 stars to out of state schools? Pathetic.
Miss State is doing good...if Dan Mullen stays...maybe be hearing cowbells more often.

I agree Bucknuts. I was really surprised to hear Rivals or some other board even had them at 24 or 25! Many of the best seemed to have OSU on their short list leading up to Signing Day but Bucks obviously just failed to close.

On the other hand I was really surprised that Penn State did so well (some rankings had them at 7 or 8) with recruits who couldn't possibly know how much longer Paterno will last.

Great point. I think we read too much into rankings too. They say Bama added some speed ala Florida to add another dimension to their offensive punch. Wow, watch out for that.
Florida, on the other hand, got some real power guys which they needed just as bad as Bama wanted speed.

Wait... shouldn't Bama get credit for this? Oh, and I'm sure the idea of thousands of misinformed Haitians sporting the Longhorn logo just tickles TT to death. And to top it off... I bet at least a few of them are gay.
