2009 College Football Season

It will be a tough game for LSU this Saturday playing at Georgia.

I'm actually more worried about that one than Florida next week in Baton Rouge.

You better be worried; because come October 10th, you're GATOR BAIT! :wink1:

I must say I love a good hit, but the hit on Tebow was redonkulous. It hurt me to watch.

Now a few things I loved about this weekend:
1. Darryl Clark's face after the game
2. Bobby Bowden's post game speech "dadgum they're a whole lot better than I thought"
3. Terrelle Pryor's amazing passing skills....o wait a minute

A few things I hate from this weekend:
1. Charlie Weis' face after the game
2. Rich Rodriguez (not just this weekend, but always)
3. Boise State being ranked #5

I know this remark is a little late and the whole weather conversation has been drawn out, but to Plenny and Bucknuts:
I lived in Ohio for 17 years and I know it gets pretty warm in the summer, BUT having lived in Arkansas for the past 9 years, I can tell you that the humidity and heat here is uncomparable to the summers in Ohio. Somedays can be almost unbearable to the point you cannot breathe. I only live in the mid-south, I can't imagine what those is southern Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida feel.
The flip side can be said about the cold up north so this argument just goes round and round and round and round.....

To Rubberring.....hats off to the Tide for making my Hogs offense look like a scared high school team

i would love to see the razorbacks play in conditions like that. Hats of to iowa again, great defense as always. I knew it would be a game of turnovers, but not all on penn state. Penn states offensive line is the worse i seen since 2000-2001 season. Ohio st, illinois, and michigan should take advantage of it

So... just got back from L.A. ... Did Penn State play this past weekend?

I can't believe Cal got blasted that badly. That was brutal. And it just makes Boise look better on paper. Those bastards will play in the nat'l title game for sure.

Thanks, dude. I told h0other that Greg McElroy would be a gamer, and that rookie Trent Richardson would see plenty of playing time. I just hope they continue to improve. Ole Miss and LSU will have the Tide's number this year, so they better be ready.

The score may not have resembled it, but the Hogs are much improved over last season. Alabama's defense will be the best one Arkansas sees this season. I still think the Razorbacks will pull a major upset this season to give Petrino his signature win there.

Bama lost LB Hightower for the season... which is a MAJOR blow to their defense. That just sucks.

ROLL TIDE.

Yeah man. Makes no sense to worry about the inevitable : )

It's a night game in Baton Rouge. We all know what happened last time.

Magic is in the air on Saturday nights in Tiger Town. That is why I am not worried about that game.

Since 1960, LSU is 201–59–3 (.773) at night in Tiger Stadium compared to a 20–22–3 (.476) record during the day over that span.

Currently, LSU has not lost a Saturday night game in Death Valley since the 2002 season.

I don't know. That was "Tune Up 2007 - the In-Between NC's Year" when Gators were 9-4 and still almost (should have) beat the eventual Champs in a BR night game. I don't consider that vid, as a Gator fan, something to be ashamed about at all (but painful for sure).

I certainly agree that night games in BR are unlike any other, anywhere. Another reason I love SEC football. However your 7 year string is a little too long in the tooth right now my friend. Beads on the floor after next Saturday night. In any event, hope the Tigers get past Georgia. It would be great to see an SEC night match-up featuring 2 of the Top 5 (4) teams so early in the season.

You do realize that Fayetteville Arkansas(where the Hogs campus is) is in the Ozark Mountains, mountains as in it gets cold and has had snow the past few years. We can handle ourselves in cold weather. I am getting a little tired of all of your Big Ten excuses bouncing back to the weather. It wasn't cold last Saturday, it was a night game with rain. The rain doesn't only fall in Happy Valley. It is not the stuff of legend to play in the rain, all teams do it. The fact is that Penn St. has played no one all season (Akron, Syracuse, and Temple) which is not what you would call running the gauntlet. You haven't tested yourself all year and you played down to your competition. Not to mention Kirk Ferentz straight up has your number.

20/20 hindsight here but I do question why Meyer had him playing then in 3rd quarter with UF up 31-7 when it seemed obvious that Kentucky couldn't really put up any serious offensive threat.

Becuase Urban Meyer is an ******* that loves to run up the score on hapless opponents? What hindsight is needed? Who honestly felt Tebow should be in the game anyways?

What A crazy week in college football. 7 of the top 25 lost including 4 of the top ten. I was most surprised by Miami getting drubbed by Va Tech, they even had extra prep time with playing on Thursday the following week.

This last week lost me a considerable amount of money. Yeah, **** this week.

Good news is things are looking up.

Yeah, good to see Mack Brown stopped running up the scores on hapless opponents this year:
Texas 59 points against ULM, Texas 64 points against UTEP :wink1::wink1:
"Style points" are just a BCS fact, no matter how much none of us like it.

My beef is that at Kentucky, UF already scored 31 points before end of first half. Tebow got hurt in the 3rd Quarter. More importantly, Tebow was SICK with severe case of flu (had to fly in seperate plane) so what was the logic for playing him in 2nd half?

C'mon, OG... you would've really deprived the game announcers and ESPN from being able to say "T-i-m Teeeeee-boooooow!" during the 2nd half highlights??? Dude, you're harsh.

I can agree with that. But, do you really think FL would drop from 1 to 2 because of style points? I don't. Whatever his reasoning was, I don't see it. I still respect Meyer, but question that one.

Kinda like why in game 2 against Meatchicken, did Weis choose to throw the ball, and let M get it back with time to score. Should have chewed up the clock and closed the game out.:cussing:

Honestly I don't think TT should play for another 2-3 weeks, just to be sure, even with LSU coming up next. He plays collision football and I think doing so again in 10 days is too soon. As much as I want the Gators to win I would never trade a win for the guy's long term health.

Agreed and a second concussions could jeopardize the rest of his senior season.

I cant even imagine that!!!!!! I wonder how that will effect USC's game with Cal..??

Urban seems to be a win at all costs kind of coach.

Its kinda hard not to hang those totals. Youll notice that Texas missed the BCS last year because it didnt run up the score like it was it's job and a team that shouldnt have been there in the first place was. Wont make that mistake again.

Urban Meyer is just an ******* dude, call a spade a spade. He started that kinda ****. If you honestly were surprised to see Tebow in the game in the 3rd, even 4th quarter, you must turn off your TV at that point. I half expect florida to go for two just for fun at that point.

What happened to TT was karma.

I picked 6/10 games AGAINST the % on Pick-Em this week. Looks like a make or break week for me. You know Auburn is sitting up top with my 10 points of confidence though as we will be thrashing Tennessee. You heard it here, 37-10.

Poor plenny? How about how Oregon gang raped Cal? Makes sense since its berekly, they are all about that anal stuff.

No way. A homosexual reference from you? I'm stunned.

C'mon... is there any real question where my football loyalties lie? That being said, Cal definitely got hammered. Still, I only experience college football-related physical illness when Bama loses.

Oh, and it's Berkeley... Berke-ley.

Hope so. Kiffin has turned Tennessee into the one SEC team I really dislike.

I'm hoping the Vols finish 5-7, but we need Auburn to pull out a big win at UT.

BTW, notice that Tennessee, one of the least likely of all the SEC teams to play in the SEC Championship Game, is the only team to list the SEC CG on their official football schedule! Like they're actually supposed to get there!! WTF - likely contenders Florida and Bama don't even do that.
I'm surprised the delusional Vols just don't go ahead and make the NCG in Pasedena part of their schedule too.

Poor plenny... already written off his team, and it's only week five.

no!! i didn't write them off. If they win the rest of their games, both a big 10 championship and with a huge stretch a shot at nat'l champs. I said before the season started that they wont be as potent on offense as last year. they lost 3 excellent WR's. and 4 offensive lineman. THe new recieving corps are taller but not as fast and will get better with time. In time for the Bama/Penn state matchup next year..Hahahaah!!!!!!!!!:swordfight:

Cal didnt get hammered. They were slapped, told to get up, thrown onto a table, stripped naked, and had their innocence taken while they cried the whole time.

Look, its fine if you love plugging up some people's leaky buttholes and being the result of a indulgent, borderline hedonistic society, Im sure the bay area is a great place if youre an ass.

All it takes is a crazy iron bowl for you to face Auburn in the SEC CG.

Do you have Alzheimer's? What's with the completely unprovoked regional hate again? It's the same thing with you over and over. A gay joke followed by your hatred for an area you've never been to. You really are a one-trick pony. I know, I know... don't mess with Texas. (((yawn)))

I always knew you were pathological... but now you're just boring. :lame:

Just SEC envy again.
Pops up it's ugly head now and then (usually when 3 or 4 SEC teams are in Top 5). :nana:

well it goes to show how greedy the sec really is...esp Florida. Urban "Lyer" tries to run up the score and put his QB in jeopardy and will he ever be the same? reasons like that makes me a hater.

And on the other end of the spectrum, I just hate the Big Ten because they suck. :006:

I sure hope noone picked us over W. Our offense has stalled and the defense is just as it has been. 30+ points per game. F*ck weis. F*ck college football for today. Congrats to Bama and whomever else won. And even LSU. Isn't official yet, but they should hold off G. Just as I thought. Why is it that LSU fans arent' confident of their team? IS it because they no they aren't deserving of #4 yet? That's my opinion.

Before wolf opens his mouth; note that if they beat FL with Tebow, even though its BR at night, they will have my respect. Just look out for that Bama D.

If I can call our offensive plays from here; I know that W can read it too. Thats a damn shame. Millions for an offensive "self guru" and even my fat @ss can read his f*cking offense. GD b@st@rd. Go to hell in a handbasket. I hope the alumni pay off his buyout and send his happy @ss back to the NFL where he can hide under Billichek or Parcells or whoever will pay him mills to screw up. Frankly I'm fed up with f*cking sub par performances. To hell with Weis @ss.

No LSU is not deserving of #4, just as Ole Miss was never deserving of that same ranking. But hey they are SEC teams and as such must be ranked in the top ten. Darn it there goes my "SEC envy" rearing it's ugly heads again. :puke: I don't think so, more like intense dislike related to ridiculous over-hyping and over-rating. :AR15firing: SEC

Hey Rub...even though I despise the SEC; particularyly LSU, I will rep with all I have if you guys can kick their thug loving @sses at Bama this year. All I ask is that you shut their f*cking mouths. Saban this...Saban that... Kick their teeth in. PLEASE!

And before anyone says I have given up on my team...I have not. I am not delusional, thats all. I know that you have to have a halfway decent defense, and your offense has to be able to score when 3 yards from the goal to win a game. You can't squeak by every week and expect respect. (unless you are USC or in the SEC.) No offense to Rub, Trauma or anyone else, thats just a fact.

I sure hope noone picked us over W. Our offense has stalled and the defense is just as it has been.

I picked Washington, but it looks like the Irish will squeak by against a mediocre team again. However, Clausen's passing game is the only element at ND that has shown improvement this season... which should be unacceptable. I'm telling you BH... every win this season is a long-term loss for you guys.

Just look out for that Bama D.

Actually, I thought the Bama defense is missing Hightower badly. No significant pass rush. The secondary continues to make mistakes on the long ball too. Against anyone other than UK, that might be an issue.

Say what you will... and obviously, I've got no love for LSU... but those guys just know how to win. It's ugly, but they get it done. I think they just might be the most dangerous team in the SEC this year.

If we win, but its ugly...then we suck...but if LSU squeaks by...they know how to win...I never have understood that one. But I guess I can. SEC loves SEC. I see it now. No credibility to other teams, just the SEC. Thats cool. Thats part of being in a conference. Which I will never understand. Seeing who I support.

B.C.S.= biased collegiate system

I don't give a d@mn. If you win sloppy...its a W, but you don't deserve recognition for squeaking by. Unranked or ranked. Conference or Non conference IMO.

Dude... the Irish are squeaking by the likes of Purdue and Washington. Teams at the bottom of their respective conferences. You really think it's comparable? I wasn't even trying to hate.

You are right about the conference situation.
