2009 College Football Season

Yeah man it def looks like the luck of the Irish just ran out, you guys are banged up big time. I think the schedule is relatively light until USC correct?

Supposed to be. You know how that goes. Everyone who plays us, if its a rival like Purdue, M, MSt, etc. it's their BIG game. Everyone wants to beat our *sses, whether or not we are a good squad. We shall see. Clausen should be in better health by the time we meet Petey and crew. Its the only game where ALL college football teams and fans, USC excluded, that will pull for us.

I really don't wish ND any ill will, never have but you are right everyone gets up to play you guys. If they win the rest of there games except USC that would be 10 wins which is pretty good on the back of last years record.

It's good from last year but we need a good bcs bowl win. We need to earn the respect that we want. You just can't beat a few decent teams... We need to handily win a couple of big ones. Starting with USC

JoePa used that flu excuse last saturday after the mediocre performance against temple. It was called a "lame" excuse by certain members. But when Lord Meyer says his boys have the flu, the world comes to a screeching hault.

I'm suprised Timmy didn't heal them all at half time. WE HAVE 10 MINUTES TO GET OVER THIS FLU! WE DON"T HAVE TIME FOR DIARRHEA, NAUSEA OR VOMITING! LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME AND BE HEALED! :toilet:

This never gets old. Maybe they should have had Tim give them a half time motivational speech during the 2006 NC game. Good leadership breeds success. Enough said:

Right on Trauma. Even as a FRESHMAN, little Timmy made 'em cry and they've hated him ever since.

The '06 Football and '07 Basketball Titles - both over Ohio State - was something special. First time a school held both in same school year. I remember this great T-Shirt around UF's campus around that time that said somthing like:

"The tests came back and they confirm Florida is Ohio State's daddy"

BTW, how did this all come up?? Is reliving such painful memories really theraputic to you Big Ten Guys??
Weird.

You guys are pathetic.

Pryor's not panning out as the great Buckeye Savior and Clarke only screams like a baby when JoePa pulls him from a game (last year Ohio State).

Wow, wish we had Pryor or Clarke instead of Tebow.

My sentiments exactly. Pathetic sums it up.

Let'em hate though; It's hillarious.

You're right my friend; Florida is definitely Ohio State's daddy.

Time to put the babies in a time out.

Well well well Rubberring...We meet on the field this week. ESPN says the Alabama defense will hold Ryan Mallet to 21 points, what do you think? I think we will definitely score more than 21, but it won't be enough before our "D"efense will leave the "D" at home in Fayetteville.

As far as the Ohio State bashing by the Florida guys goes, as some one who was born in Columbus and grew up in Ohio I have to ask when it will be time to talk about something other than what happened 3 seasons ago? We are down right now I get it, the glory will return and right now Florida is on top of the college football world...trust me I get it. Seriously though, 2006 is exactly that...2006.

O and anyone who thinks that Jim Tressell cannot call plays any better than my 90 year old grand mother say "ay"

Hold on Swim. We didn't bring it up. Check unprovoked posts #1304 and 1305 above.

Big Ten fans here can't help to Tebow-bash every now and then (usually brought on by a feeling of insecurity in their own Q-Backs).

So then we have to bring up the uncomfortable concept of "reality"...

Timmy from Florida's handicap is between his ears. Fans every where no matter their conference alliance can come together and unite in one thing and it is the universal acceptance of Timmy's douche baggery.

“Urban Meyer” by Tim Tebow

Oh, I'd love to play with Urban Meyer’s wiener.
That is what I'd truly like to do.
But if I played with Urban Meyer’s wiener,
Everyone would think that I'm gay too.

That's funny, I didn't create it I borrowed it but man is that a classic :icon_lol::icon_lol:

More Tebow love

God sometimes wonders if Tim tebow really exists.

Your Tebow fixation is actually very telling.

Nah, the games not until saturday and I'm having fun right now. You SEC guys have become insufferable so I'm amusing my self at your expense. :nana:
TT put all those up? He's such a smart ass :wink1:. I'll go look for his post I don't want to be redundant. :icon_lol:

All that I can ask is that Florida fans accept that college football is cyclical, its a circle, like a carousel, it goes up and down, and around, circular, all good things (name that movie anyone).

You won't always be on top.

Well unless your a fan of a team like Vandy, Syracuse, or Duke ....then you will forever suck.

joepa said clark displays the most leadership out of all the kids he coached in his long tenure. I personally love his swagger. Timmy would get booo'ed out of happy valley just because the way he acts.:nana:

Tebow struggles with NFL-style defense

After taking a look at the film of Florida's 23-13 win over Tennessee there are still plenty of concerns about whether Gators QB Tim Tebow will be able to make a quick transition to the NFL.

Volunteers defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin came up with as good a game plan as possible against Florida's multiple weapons and wide-open scheme, giving Tebow a look at the kind of mixed coverages he will see at the next level. Tennessee often dropped seven or eight men into coverage and rushed only three or four and Tebow struggled for a variety of reasons.

First, the Vols did a good job of taking away his primary reads in the intermediate and deep areas of the field. That forced him to check down a lot and in many cases the rush was able to force Tebow to break the pocket. Tebow also seemed to struggle at times to recognize exactly what kind of zone coverage he was looking at, and that split-second indecision at times caused him to miss open receivers in other areas of the field. Tebow also turned the ball over twice and the second-quarter interception he threw to Vols S Eric Berry was a flat-out bad read.

It is important to note, though, that Tebow didn't get a lot of help from his receivers. The film showed a lot of Florida receivers running their initial routes but failing to adjust and work back to the quarterback if they didn't get open when they expected to. They are used to simply spreading the field and using their speed to get open and when that didn't happen Tebow was often left hanging, which often led to him tucking the ball and running.

From a college football standpoint Tebow showed tremendous competitiveness and courage and he took the game over by using his legs to take advantage of Tennessee dropping so many into coverage and giving him room to run. From an NFL scouting standpoint, however, this game only reinforces concerns about the very steep learning curve Tebow will face in the NFL. It is a similar situation to the one former No. 1 overall pick Alex Smith faced after running coach Urban Meyer's spread scheme during their time together at Utah.

Man does he look good. Earlier today I said the U should be the #1 team in the country if they beat perennially overrated Va Tech and then Oklahoma next week making it 4 wins vs top 25 teams to open the season. I was watching ESPN a bit ago and Todd McShay said the same thing. The rankings are supposed to be based on now, not on expectations or reputation and nobody will be able to come close matching Miami's season to date should they win their next two games. FWIW I think they they will win them both. I am not looking forward to them coming to Columbus next September, although I expect my Buckeyes to be better next year.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. I don't think the Canes' defense will allow them to finish with fewer than two losses this season, but I wouldn't argue that they deserve a much higher ranking at this point. Harris is gonna be something else. Last year, I assumed their future was dependent upon Marve... which is why I didn't think they'd go anywhere this season.

Btw, I think the only team who will finish undefeated is Boise State. Sad but true.

Agree. But you and I both know that won't happen.

We'd move to #3 at best. Not before UF and Texas. Just how the polls work.

Our SOS is #1 - after this stretch we should have a negative SOS... At least the gap will be HUGE in the computer polls.

I'm going to go to the Shoe next year. I'll be living in northern VA - near DC. So hoping it's not a bad drive over.
There's an intern we had this summer at our plant (chem. engineer) that will be there in the fall - said I could crash on his couch.

Can't wait to see us play the Bucks with no Terry Porter as ref. heh

More probable is we lose a game because Jacory just has a off night.

We can out score everyone on the rest of our schedule - maybe not OU. But def. the rest of the ACC.

But if Harris is off - then yes, the D could let us down.

C'mon now how many ticky tack pass interference calls did we have in that game? I have copies of the game if you need me to send you one to review. All you can ask is that they be consistent. I want to go to that game as well and I may try to get tickets. I've driven to D.C. a couple of times and once you get clear of the D.C. area (horrible) it's an easy drive.

I know Boise plays the big schools tough, but I can't stand the idea that they could play for the national championship. I was given 2 tickets to the Bowling Green/Boise game on Saturday, problem is I live an hour away from BG's campus and Ohio State plays at 3:30pm so I have a dilemma on my hands.

Ok, I just read through the last few pages. Why do you keep bringing up cold weather football, plenny? Southern teams are playing in conference games by the time it starts to get cold and most of the bowl games are hosted in fair weather areas so we will never test your stupid hypothesis. Quit bringing it up.

Alabama is playing Tennessee Chattanooga Nov 21st, that's a non-conference game in the middle of the SEC schedule. You must have missed it when I posted that up and rubbering ripped me a new ass, then realized he was wrong and changed his post (haha). My point is it could be done, it won't be done but it could be.

I doubt Big 10 or SEC teams would want to play tough OOC games that late in the season. They have enough to deal with in conference.

How about yall come experience some southern heat? It is nice and humid they will be so dehydrated they will be dropping like flies.

Anybody see the Miami FSU game? They r used to practicing in that type of weather and they still had issues with cramping.
