16 Weeks to APF TX Challenge

Time to get your grind on big boy!! Congrats on the PR!!

Well, I got my opener, but the misload fiasco killed my CNS. I'm pretty fumed here right now.

Total was ~1607 at 606/451/550.

Back to the drawing board...

I was thinking that if you tried to pull that thinking it was a lighter weight that could **** everything up. I'd be pissed to. There is always next meet though.

On the bright side you got that bench PR to be happy about.

That's a total clusterfck, almost on par w what happened to Alex at nats. The APF needs to take a hard look at itself...

Yep, you took home that bench PR and you still got yourself a total. That's some serious bull**** that they misloaded your deadlift.

Great job! Proud of you! :)

Is that total better than your last meet? If so then you are going in the right direction and you still pocketed a nice PR on the way. The war rages on big R!!

It was ~26# lighter. The reason I picked 578 as my second attempt on deads was to beat my previous total and to meet PR. Obviously, that didn't go as planned.

You finished the meet and came away with a PR in the process...I would call that a solid day. Now you have more goals to put up on the board.

Only 26# lighter taking one squat and getting ****ed on deadlift is not bad at all! Are we gonna get to see video of your big benching?

I told him while we were there that there is no way he didn't get stronger.

He smoked that 606, even with the ****ed back, his bench was way stronger, and his DL was moving easy until that royal **** up.

Upsetting to hear about that DL issue, but overall you got some positives out of the meet. :thumbsup

Been creepin this log this last few weeks. Nice job dude. Sucks they Fuked your DL attempt

Your benching has improved so much, and your squat and pull looked like warmup reps. I wouldn't be surprised to see 1700 next time out.

Looks like you instantly knew that the weight was off on yoir 2nd DL attempt.

It was supposed to be a 28# jump to secure both a deadlift and meet PR. However, I couldn't budge the damn weight from the floor. You can see the flex in the bar and it was not a lack of effort or even strength.

Thats what I meant. As soon as it didn't budge it looks like you shot a WTF look at the plates and then to someone on your left lol

Awesome lifts though man. Especially on bench

In case anyone was wondering what the hell I was doing on my deadlift opener, I forgot to chalk my hand and almost stepped on the platform before I noticed it.

How are ya feelin today?

Lumbar is tight, my pecs, traps, and lats are sore, and I'm lethargic. However, I feel much better compared to last time since I didn't have to drive to the event the day of competition.

I'm already thinking about the changes to my training I'll be implementing over the next several months, but don't have anything definitive yet. What I'm thinking about doing is going back to block with some of the rotation found in Westside. I will not be going full gear awhile, but will be using briefs and a Ram for overload and protection. My initial month or so will be raw work and most of my squat training will be to a box with my deadlift training being primarily rack pulls.

Are the rack pulls and box squats for recovery purposes?

Gonna open up the old log again!? Ha

Box is to strengthen my hips; after looking back on my old stuff, I noticed that the biggest change was the removing of the box. Rack pulls are to focus on the erectors and traps and will be done from various heights, stances, and grips.

Sometimes I do then while working up. Helps me sit back. Way freaking harder than squats IMO.

"Wide can go close, but close can't go wide. You see?"

Wide is more of a geared necessity in order for it to provide what it does right?
